It’s heartbreaking to see what’s happened to the Halo franchise. I grew up with this series, and back then, you could feel the heart and soul that went into every detail. Now, it’s like the magic is completely gone. The passion, the love, the sense of wonder-it’s all been replaced with something lifeless. I’ve honestly stopped playing video games altogether because it's just sad now. Games aren't made with the same care or dedication anymore; they just feel like products, not experiences. And social media has only made it worse. It turned gaming into a competition for attention and trends rather than a place for genuine creativity in my opinion. It’s sad to say, but gaming will never be the same again, and I'm really gonna miss what it used to be but will always cherish what we had.
I couldn’t agree more, that’s why I’m getting more into indie games. They’re the lifeline of the gaming industry, and I promise will rekindle your love for walking away with impressionable and long lasting experiences from games

Second, I completely understand how you feel about Halo. Halo is one of the founding pieces of who I am today. I was born as the same year as Halo:CE, and I’ve loved it since I was very young. The 343 era truly devastated the games, but it can’t take away from what was.
I have so much to say on this topic so I might leave a couple comments. First, as someone who wants the same to become a paid RUclipsr, the only way you’ll get there is to put out the content that you love, whether or not it’s getting views. Eventually you will hit that mark that brings in the algorithm. Hell, you were in my suggested videos tab. You got RUclipss attention. So, first for foremost, fuck what the vast amount of viewers want to see, keep building your channel and your community and you’ll find that it feels way better than pandering to the big names. This is YOUR channel, YOUR art, YOUR vision. Don’t let anyone take that away from you.
I quit gaming a few months ago, one reason was due to how dead halo and gaming in general is now, its all about money. I reached hero on halo infinite with over 40 days game time, started playing halo back in 2001/02 with CE, its been with me my entire life and ive been with it its entire life and ive stuck with it through thick and thin, and in return they give us terrible content. The state of halo now is extremely sad, especially when you compare it back to the 2007 - 2012 golden era... but then again you can say that about a lot of games bro, it will never ever be the same again, accept it or quit.. i chose the latter. agreed. crazy how i went from carrying my tv around different colleges and going to MLG events, waiting for midnight releases, the whole kit and caboodle, vs now, no LAN centers, no hosted tournaments, no spirit of halo that was around 02-08, EVERYBODY knew halo, from the girls that cheered at my school, football players, chess club kids, EVERYONE! we had so many late nights lanning and kids these days will never know what it was like hooking up 4 xbox's in your house...i've been bummed about it since halo 2 first broke my heart, little did i know every halo since would bleed me more and more dry.

Fun fact: The world that facilitated absolute bangers like classic Halo no longer exists. The first AAA dev to not be absolutely awful or out of touch with their community will be economically punished. There are two guys and a dog working at 343 currently. I started a Scout armor cosplay but I find it really hard to complete it for fear that by the time I finish no one will even remember the franchise it's from anymore.

Don't give up making videos, but definitely consider broadening your reach and trying different games alongside what you're doing now. The combo of halo infinite botched launch, the TV show doing poorly, and the utter lack of support for infinite has brand loyalty at an all time low, even from merchants. It has become nearly impossible to track down halo merch in person. You have to order it from a site like it was never relevant, and that is what has me the most depressed about halo. Halo used to be everywhere, and community content was seen as a good thing because it meant there was a community. Now community content is coming from people that should be allowed to make the next halo game while the studio in charge of making the next halo game steals those people's free work and tries to sell it back to us in micro transactions. The problem is corporate greed, they can't fathom that they have to make money from the games outside of the games like they used to. And they made it nearly impossible for themselves to even go that route anymore because of how little stores trust the brand at this point. Like target and Walmart just won't restock any mega sets. There are mega pokemon and hot wheels sets in the lego aisle, but no mega halo. That tells me the stores aren't ordering the brand anymore, because when the merch was available and needed to move off shelves they delayed the game that they should have known wasn't ready and the merch shelf warmed for 2 years before going to bargain stores and the major retailers never reordered. Halo infinite never should have had all the promotional material made until the game was actually ready to ship. Nobody is to blame except for the people that didn't lose their jobs in the purge at Microsoft and 343, so these companies learned nothing. Halo is probably a dead franchise. I've had to accept that over the last few years. Its why I still jump at the opportunity to grab merch when I can, it reminds me of when the brand had the popularity to warrant neat little plastic trinkets

I want to be a full time music producer/content creator and quit my job as well and it hasn’t happened yet. I understand exactly how you feel. But you have to keep doing what you love. If you want to keep making videos of you playing halo and just commentating over the gameplay and that’s what you’re passionate about then keep doing it! Screw the results, screw the algorithm, and screw views. The truth is, if you’re depressed now, a bunch of “success” and “views” on RUclips isn’t going to fix it, it might temporarily lift your mood, but eventually you’ll feel empty again, it’s an age old story that happens all the time. Now this is where I’ll get a little preachy but this part of the comment could change your life: Follow God. And not just any “god”, follow Jesus Christ. I have nothing to gain from telling you this, I’m just speaking from personal experience and from my own journey to the truth. True life is to be found in seeking Christ and the kingdom of God. Jesus made a way for us to have a personal relationship with Him through his death, burial, and resurrection 2,000 years ago in Jerusalem. It’s an event that all history points back to and constantly references. If you want to learn more, I’d recommend reading or listening to the audiobook called “cold case Christianity”. I know you probably didn’t expect my comment to take a turn there but I wanted to leave you with advice that could potentially change your life. Again I have nothing to gain from telling you this, I can only speak from the place of a man who also was once aimless, depressed, and discontent with where I was in life. I haven't seen 343 do anything good i just honestly cant think of anything everytime they start to they cancel it like mcc all in all i am disappointed we gave them plenty of chances gaming as a whole now a days sucks 07-12 was amazing for gaming and it will be a while before we see that again
I heard a phrase a while back that's really stuck with me. "Liking something shouldn't be hard." I think over a decade of flops is more than enough justification to lose faith in 343. If Halo ever makes a proper comeback, great I'll be there. I'm just too tired of holding my breath. On a more positive note, at least fan-made content seems to be at an all-time high. Sodaz racked up over 3M views on an animation a while back. Content surrounding mods is also doing pretty good. I think people on RUclips (especially Halo fans who have been playing the same few games for years) like to see things they haven't before. Something new, unique, novel.

I been playing halo all my life but after a year of playing infinite I gave up. I'm waiting on the next project. Yes, reality really only set in for me a few weeks ago. Part of me is still on the copium for a new Halo game to bring back the franchise in troves eventually but.. I get more doubtful every time I think about halo. The pro scene is really dry, starting to do GAs. It's gonna die eventually just like Infinite is. The weekends pop off but thats not enough. We're losing the fight bros....

I was a top 100 MCC player for many years, i competed in HCS Anaheim, achieved world records i've been apart of fairly big teams in Halo and i was permanently communication banned and so my main account: KT7F is gone. I was banned from discussing Halo on all of the official halo platforms, Also MCC is buggy now and i can't even log into the game itself, 343 and microsoft literally exiled me from Halo.
Halo has been dead since Halo 5. This is the wrong vehicle if you want to do RUclips full time and make a career out of it. Good news is that its fairly easy to pivot, stop doing yt on Halo and start making videos on topics that are guaranteed to draw a larger audience and higher paying crm. Look its not easy but its simple. If you are overweight the solution is to lose weight and excercise. If you arent making money the solution is to provide more value to a larger group of people.
