Nah fr Twitter is a cesspool lmao, RUclips will always be the meta. Appreciate the weekly authentic non hyper-edited commentary vids. Such a breath of fresh air lol
At the beginning of this year for school mainly, I uninstalled all of my social media apps, except for youtube and reddit (I only use reddit for the No Man's Sky community), changed the screen to black and white and made my phone as barebones as possible. It feels like I'm in the 90s again and I fucking love it.
Exactly right, on top of real life stuff like work or school I think this can apply to games as well- a negative mindset from yourself or your teammates can really eat away at you if you let it. Respect to that lone blue team guy in your team snipers game for thugging that shit out lol
3:30 Yeah, I'm only 18, but I definitely have enjoyed tuning in to watch your videos. I love the original Halo trilogy. On the topic of the video, luckily, I have never been very invested in any social media site. In my experience, it all seems quite unhealthy and often people seem to go out of their way to pick fights and argue...
Bing Crosby wrote a song about this topic: "You've got to ac-cent-tchu-ate the positive E-lim-i-nate the negative Latch on to the affirmative Don't mess with Mr. In-Between You've got to spread joy up to the maximum Bring gloom down to the minimum Have faith, or pandemonium Liable to walk upon the scene" The have faith part doesn't necessarily mean you have to believe in a higher power. Having faith in yourself and your abilities is also an important part of life.
Ive learned this lesson when i finally saw that "culture war" content on RUclips was pretty toxic, and only inflames first world problems while fanning the flames of our divided world. It showed me that there are a lot of people out there want to be e angry, as it can give a sense of community and purpose. So, i cut that negativity out. Ever since I stopped engaging in politics, I've been happier in general! And all it took was a manchild screaming about pronoun options in Starfield. 😂 You're right. Keep up the good work
I’ve been the twitter hound of sorts, on Facebook I’ve recently been coming to realize how far social media is from real people and the real world What you’re saying about self belief is the core of the issue
I think a healthy balance is necessary between positivity and negativity. Yes, too much negativity will suck you down into an abyss where things seem much worse than they really are, but at the same time, too much positivity can end up blinding you to situations that are legitimately bad for you and keep you from identifying harmful environments/people. And negativity isn't bad, because it, too, promotes change (acknowledging a bad idea, recognizing a certain situation as unhelpful). Being positive is definitely important, but negativity plays a role, too.
You said in the video that positivity and negativity can rub off on us. I really like your videos sir, they have a sort of honest wisdom that I really appreciate you sharing with the world. I think that when you are exposed to good wisdom and advice that can also rub off on you jus the same as negativity and positivity can.
Thanks RUclips for recommending this video, and thank you ClassicHaloCommentary for making it. I also love Halo since I was a kid, I play it since Halo 3 was in 360's games with gold. I'm also 19yo. There really is so much negativity around us, in my case isn't even from social medias since I don't use them that much, but from familiars and some friends that share this 'negativity' that will not change my life in anything besides making me feel bad and even lost. I started to filter these things out of my life in the past two months and with success most of the time, but sometimes we just get pulled into this negativity, but deep inside we know that this will just cause harm to ourselves. Even with these moments, they're turning to be less frequents each week. Without them I got more mental energy to pursuit what I want and don't bother with these outside matters, I just focus on what I want to. I'm new to your channel and you already got my sub. This video will really help me in the long term. Thank you!
Yeah! I really feel you. I'll give an example: everyone is pissed all the time in regards to gaming and new games. Sometimes they're right, sometimes not, but everything seems to be blown out of proportion that every thing absolutely sucks ass and there's absolutely no redeeming qualities and they year for "oh the good old times" when I distinctly remember these "good old times" having similar issues that people either reminisce over or just forget that existed. And it baffles me when I get to play a game that everyone swore it was trash, it wasn't worth [whatever they wanted to pay] but I find myself having genuine fun and playing for hours, despite issues or gameplay/artistic decisions I don't quite like. That's why I really don't care AT ALL about "User Scores", "Steam Reviews", "Review Bombing" - most of the times it's noise that maybe doesn't have to do with the game at all, but it taints the experience as if you were to feel "guilty" about having fun with a video-game - which is what they were supposed to be. This isn't to ignore flaws, pretend everything is ok and fine. But to be more realistic, level headed whenever discussing things and enjoying things at face-value, not how you "want the game to be and it isn't".
21yo from Brazil. It's been a week since Twitter was banned here, and I've heard people praising this, users and non-useres who were sick of it. I'm curious to see how the ex users will report on quitting the app. Btw, your chanel is one of the few I have the notification bell set to "all". This is the part of the internet I like.
I heard it was banned over there. I’m not 100% sure the reason. But I appreciate you watching and doing that. Seems like I’m getting a solid group of people watching and engaging with the videos.
I'm 19 years old. I've never been on Twitter, Facebook or any other social media outside of RUclips. Sure, it was my parents' decision when I was young, but I've known about the negative effects of social media from my own experience for some time. Also, Halo CE and Halo 2 are my favorite videogames, so if course I enjoy watching your videos.
Ah man I feel all of this so hard. At work, there's a few people who REALLY love to complain. Complain when it'e hot, cold, busy, slow, there's no pleasing them. Same with lots of people online, it's so essy to complain about work and life and society. But I love to try appreciating what I've got. I love my job, I love where I live, I love my hobbies and what I do with my time. Could be better, but it could be a lot worse. No point in me finding things to complain about. Similar thing with me mostly dropping instagram lately, I've been on Pinterest lot and it's SO NICE. Like, it's nust people just posting stuff they find interesting / funny, I love it. It's so chill, at least in my experience so far.
I’m 19 and I’ve never hade any social media outside RUclips and discord. It’s been great. By the way your videos are amazing, I love the halo ce gameplay and you have some great wisdom.
Schwarzenegger, if I am not mistaken, said "Say no to naysayers". Why live if there's no passion? By the way. You are listened by an 18yo from Russia. I must be really weird.
I've been trying to stay away from the negativity from the media and I noticed that by looking at the thumbnails and video titles that give so much attention to the audience. The controversial topics are celebrities political news and a bunch of junk that people are complaining about. I'm 18 years old and I have been improving a lot more than I gave myself some credit. All I wanted to say is thank you for speaking out about this issue and keep up an amazing work for your journey.
Since a recent huge shift in my life, I have found to be comfortable being alone. Not to always be alone, but to like my own company and my own thoughts. Other people supporting you is great, but supporting yourself as well goes a long way. It took me until 25 to find that and this year has been the best of my life, despite rolling punches that are the worst I ever taken. You will attract the people you want by believing in you.
The doom and gloom stuff online is what made me uninstall all social media about 2 years ago, but i would be omitting the truth if i didnt mention i cant help myself sometimes and willingly argue with modern halo fans lmao. Other than that i keep to myself. Im one of those younger viewers you mentioned.
@@ClassicHaloCommentary My addiction at the time was incredibly high, if I was depressed enough i could legitimately sit on my phone for 4-8 hours. I havent looked back since.
this is the same exact reason why i decided to cut out social media. i kept logging on to see only negativity from people. i noticed myself becoming exhausted from all of it. in hindsight, it’s the best decision i made
Been working as a pizza delivery guy for the last few months. My co-workers are not socially like me. They are unfortunately as generic, short-sighted, demorallized and complaining as what you're talking about. I'm mature enough that I don't need to worry too uch about them being examples to emulate in any way, but I can't help but wonder what people like that think acting and thinming in this way will ever constructively achieve for them. Very glad to have found this video, bro. And yes, I was in daipers when I first played Combat Evolved lol
I’m glad you can ignore all that stuff at work. It’s crazy to hear people complain to much lol. But I appreciate you watching and I’m glad Halo still resonates with a younger audience lol
3:40 Honestly it feels strange to be interested in certain properties and then find out they began near when I was born. Prime example is the first transformers movie coming out when I was 3, and yet I have watched it more times than I could count
3:40 I'm 20 and got into Halo around 2012-ish. My family had a PS3, but I much prefered our OG Xbox. To this day, CE is still my favorite. But yeah, I like to stay out of culture war stuff. I was doing good too, but sadly got back into it after watching one of my favorite franchises get taken over by activists. I wish they could just leave us alone.
Hey i just wanna address the whole thing about what age demographic watches your videos, i just wanna say that CE came out before I was born and its been my favorite video game for the past 10 years roughly. I know a lot of people who are around my age and have similar feelings for Reach, ODST, and the original trilogy. We may not be the majority of your viewers, but there's a lot of us out there.
