After being diagnosed with Stage 3 (possibly 4) ovarian cancer during surgery on my left ovary back in June 2022, I decided to pursue treatment at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. So far I have been through six rounds of paclitaxel and carboplatin. I have also had two inconclusive biopsies (on my liver and lymph nodes). On Monday, January 16, 2023, I had a tumor debulking surgery that included a laparotomy, hysterectomy, salpingo-oophorectomy, lymphadenectomy and an omentectomy. After 8+ hours of surgery, a 12 inch incision, 4 nights in the hospital and a whole lot of pain and nausea, I am currently recovering at our Airbnb in Rochester.
❤️ As I mentioned in the video, a very dear friend of ours is going through her own cancer journey at the moment. If you are looking for a way to help, please consider donating to her GoFundMe here: www.gofundme.com/f/MrsJennife... We have been so blessed with donations to our own GoFundMe, and would consider it such a blessing to be able to pay it forward to the amazing Gravley family. We love you Anthony & Jennifer ❤️

Dearest Jessica as a Registered Nurse who has lived with a chronic pain disease for almost 23 years I completely respect and applaud all you said regarding perception of our own challenging situations vs those of others.

Jessica, your video made me cry from beginning to end. My daughter just had a 7 hour surgery for a mass on her pancreas. She lost most of her pancreas and her spleen. Your whole ordeal is bringing up the memories of what she/we just went through. She is chugging along and so are you. I’m proud of you guys for making these videos no matter what is happening, you are so much stronger than I am.

I’m watching this from the hospital, hours before my surgery starts. I’ve never had a surgery done before and I’m very scared and anxious but watching your video is helping me calm down. Thank you for sharing your experience

After I tried to downplay my own life-pain, a wise woman said to me: "Ella, do not let my pain diminish yours." Please, please keep this in mind as you find your way out of this difficult period. You deserve more self-love than ever right now, both of you.

Jessica, what you are going through post-surgery is similar to what I have experienced. For one thing, I think how much it sucks to have cancer, and then have to go through all of this garbage! Isn't it enough to have cancer? Other people have told me they felt similarly.

I don't know if RUclips gives out "best of" awards, but Krocks in the Kitchen would be worthy of one. This is what a well-done, classy, informative, and highly engaging show by amateur RUclipsrs has the potential to be, yet so many aren't. I always look forward to new postings by these two. My fingers are crossed for you Jessica that this surgery does the trick. And to Brian, I'm wishing you well and to hang in there, too. 💪

Your dream is a classic anxiety dream, Jessica. I’ve had it too. It means you are afraid of losing grip on the things that were stable and solid before, and now something happened (what you “ate”) and everything is falling apart, especially the solid realities (your teeth) you were so used to. Is not surprising you’re feeling this way, right?

After I had my hysterectomy at 34,the drop in estrogen was so immediate and drastic that I felt AWFUL!! I wasn’t even dealing with cancer. You are not just restless, you’re talking faster than I’ve ever heard you before. I am so proud of you for realizing that your pain and suffering is valid even when there are some others worse off. I am 60 yrs old, and have had an extremely painful, disabling disease since age 19. It took me until I was almost50 until I stopped comparing myself to others worse off, minimizing my pain, and drowning in guilt. You and Brian are such sweet, loving people, and I don’t want to see you suffer any unnecessary emotional pain. Much love to you both, Kathryn

Honey, your emotions are going to be all over the board because they're what you're going through but also because of the hormone changes your body's going to be going through. It's nice to see that you're feeling better, and it's also great that you know to take care of yourself and you don't have to do a video Everyday.
