I’m confused, I can understand melting down a large piece to make several smaller ingots -so you can liquidate fractionally, but I don’t understand why you would melt smaller ingots to make one large ingot.. To make jewelry out of it, all jewelers do this they melt it down into one large piece then they will run it through a machine that will squash it and make it then and longer, they will make chains and rings and things with it
It's so silly. Melt gold, then turn it into a bar. Then melt the bar, and make a different bar out of it. Then you'll make a chain out of the bar, untik someone decides to sell it, and then they melt down the necklace to make a new bar.

Yeah... why? The bars were trusted, marked, and verified. Now your long bar will need to be rechecked before sale and likely will earn far less profit for you. Unless youre making jewelry, why do it? I can recover and refine with Pormans AR or AP, etc., but why destroy such nice bars that are already pure? You'd have to make shot to make carat jewelry. So i assume you are just making a gold art bar? But slim chance your homemade bar gets more $$$ than the originals you used.
