    A lot of people aim for a 'mic'd sound' and think that live it'll be awesome however in my opinion (FWIW) as a soloist i like that piezo bass and midrange attack on the note and blend a fraction of presence from a mic system like this. I have the LR Baggs Stagepro Anthem in my 000 Sigma and have put in a cheap fishman piezo copy in place of their own as it achieves a less natural but better live tone. This would be a fantastic system id buy if my main guitar wasn't a Maton with the AP5 pro haha.

    Got one on my baby taylor mahogany, with which I travel with a small VOX amp, and Boss Pedals. Amazing performance!

    Can the mic be bought separately and added to a standard Matrix Infinity (that did not come with the mic)?

    Thanks for your demos. Great sound at 8:46. Which do you prefer between this system and the Fishman Rare Earth blend?

    Great review! If I install it but the mic causes feedback on a high volume playing situation....Can I just turn the mic blend down to no mic at all and eliminate feedback? In other words....does the mic blend come all the way down to 0 mic? or Can I just turn off the mic if it's not needed? Thanks for your help.

      I don't know if this is too late but yes, if you turn the blend dial all the way to the right you get just the pickup (I checked by tapping the mic while slowly turning the blend dial all the way).

    I think the guitar also sounds nice by itself. What Martin model is that? Thanks!

    does it works as well for clasical nylon string guitar?

    • @pegheadnation
      @pegheadnation  5 лет назад +1

      Yes, this system will work in most nylon-string guitars.

    Teja, do you prefer this or the Rare Earth mic blend?

    • @pegheadnation
      @pegheadnation  3 года назад +1

      Depends on whether you like the sound of a magnetic pickup or an under saddle pickup better, as that will still be the fundamental tone you'll hear, even with the mic. The RE Blend will probably be a little warmer and smoother for heavy strumming, but both system can sound really good!

    I know your 6th string is tuned to D. How is the rest of the guitar tuned?

      It should fit, yes, but you might want to ask Fishman to make sure.

    Hi; this is confusing.
    In the thumbnail of this video you show a picture from the Fishman website, where the mic is placed on the treble side next to the neck. But here you show the mic is on the opposite side of the soundhole,so not near the neck, between the D an G strings. I have seen other video reviews, with the mic placed next to the neck, as indicated in the installation guide.
    I bought a handbuilt solid wood guitar (online...1500 miles away...never again...) with the mic placed as in yours in this video, but ...
    the B string is louder than the E string, which is , for my playing style, not good.
    It definitely is a mic problem because with piezo only there is no imbalance in volume between those strings.
    It seems to me, that placing the mic where yours is, there is more risk of booming also, because of vibration from the soundboard. Near the neck is more stable.
    Unfortunately, the dealer says the manual is wrong (yep, he calls it a printing error). And he glued the mic, so moving it will end warranty.
    He also told me to buy a 130 watt 900 euro ACUS amp, to solve the problem, even though my Lowden 012 sounds fine on my current 20 watt amp.
    I asked for a tip on how to remove the glued mic, ...no answer.
    Anyone?

    Does it need bateries?

    • @pegheadnation
      @pegheadnation  5 лет назад +1

      Yes, it runs on a 9-volt battery inside the guitar.

    Sounds good but I wish there was more effort put on micing the speaker to eliminate acoustic bleed.

    STRUM THE GOD DAMN THING!!!! 90% of gigging musicians STRUM THIER GUITAR!!!

    • @timmcgurl
      @timmcgurl 4 года назад +2

      NOT when you can fingerpick as beautiful as Teja from Peghead Nation does. He's an expert in DADGAD tuning which is best for fingerpicking like he's doing. 90% of us are not strummers. Learn to play without a pick for a change.
