The advertisement of my childhood.
Bethany Pirie omg so true lol
It still does appears but only ocassionally
I can remember I was 1 and I was learning numbers and that came on the tv and then it clicked
I remember this ad would pop up when I would watch The Simpsons. Good old times
I’m almost 20. I haven’t heard this ad since I was like 10. It’s been a decade and I remember this so perfectly. I don’t know if it’s still airing but we need to burn this into the next generation’s brains like it did us! Australian tradition
Good news friend, 20 year old here too, and yes! It is still airing, at least it is in the NT. I'm on holiday at the minute and don't remember what channels though.
21, and its the only phone number I can remember. :P
Yep...
@@captain-chair what about your own number T-T
@@FreakyHimmel Nice try. But I bet you're a wonderful person at heart. 🥺
Waddup Aussies!
People who aren’t from Australia are Probably confused
I'm Indonesian, but I'm not confused about this. Great marketing move by the Reading Writing Hotline since 2000s.
As an Aussie; I’ve heard this advertisement since I was born, and it’s the first phone number I first remembered 😂
I’m Aussie
I'm an Aussie too :):)
I'll never forget this number, ever

Oh my God the memories of watching Dora the explorer and having this ad come up during the show are all coming back to me
I think most Australians know this jingle off-by-heart
This is the most nostalgic Australian hotline commercial
i knew this phone number before i could sing the alphabet… this was the peak of the advertising industry
Anyone else remember and ad similiar to this that was a womens voice I think and said 13 double O 6 triple 5 O6
ShanonGallaFoe yea i remember that one
+ShanonGallaFoe I REMEMBER THAT!
+ShanonGallaFoe One three double OOO six triple FIIIIIVEEEEEEEE O six
MANDELA EFFECT

Yeah The Boys

What ?
i saw this at the gym yesterday and i was flabbergasted that it still existed
I can’t believe they actually used this ad again yesterday! It’s been so long since I’ve heard this
As a Australian, I can confirm that we say words upside down.
One of the most effective ads of all time.
I LOVE THIS ADD!! I still remember the phone number to this day
Best ad ever, remember hearing it all the time as a young kid
This ad wil forever have a place in my memory right next to pipe docter
This ad has been forged into my head... and the 9 logo.
And here I am not even remembering my own phone number yet I remember this from 8 years ago
What? They changed the jingle, WHAT IS THIS??
***** I'd try and describe it to you but that's kinda impossible through writing unfortunately
***** WHERE IS IT!? I MUST KNOW.
+Edward Tremethick, I thought it used to be the car window repair jingle where they repeated that number heaps of times. But I still cannot find the origin
It must be the 2011 to 2017 jingle of one three double oh six triple five oh six
ruclips.net/video/EzgLY0Nkoa8/видео.html is this what ur talking about?
I just saw this ad on the tv tonight and noticed the aspect ratio was different. They're still using the same ad since the 90s! It makes sense though, if it ain't broke don't fix it.
I was 13 when this ad was released it’s really nostalgic
This is so much nicer in every way than the American equivalent: celebrities shouting amidst chaos into the frenetic 90s camera "1-800-C-A-L-L-A-T-T! It's free for you and cheap for them!!" It wasn't pleasant, wasn't colorful, wasn't relaxing, and wasn't trying to help people read and write.
that's not good enough 🤔🤔🤔
Brings back so many memories man 😭
I remember being 3, watching 11 Peach and this always came up.. memories.
An Australian just told me he doesn't know this phone number and I was so shocked
this isn't the original add....
It's the (relatively) new add :P
@Jackson Chapman 😂
Lmao. This is the ad exactly as I remember from my childhood personally. I am still in my very late teens though so I might be younger than others here.
@@hughmungus6450 yeah same here
This is so nostalgic-
came back here to watch this again because i have never forgotten this number
If you want to find an Australian, all you need to do is tell out 13 double 0, 6 triple 5, 06! It's like an alarm calling all Aussies in a 1 km radius.
This should be a meme
The second you hear this ad you remember the phone number for ever
I was born and raised in Adelaide. This ad and all of its variants have NEVER played on TV in Adelaide. I first heard of it in 2019.
My condolences for living in South Australia
@@Melonist not a south australian thing, I know it off by heart
I miss the old one :'(
Don’t worry! It comes back in 2017
No one will forget this number it’s the most ad and the only number I memorised before I was foftennt
Fifteen*

It's true! Everytime the telle was on I would hear (one three double O! 6 tripple 5... O six. ) always!
Australia commercials give me the most nostalgia ever
Bro channel nine go a few years ago 💪💪 bro that hits hard

You won't find a better jingle then this
@@rogueisded There is another version of the same ad with a different jingle.
@@cmdrnachoman5864 I have to say it isn't as great though
I still remember this number from like 2008
Aussie classic
still listening to this banger in 2021
Me and my friends are gonna prank call them saying...
"Hello this is Mr. Shneeblie, I just want to say ONE THREE DOUBLE O SIX TRIPLE FIIIIIVE O SIX. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH (hang up)"
HUEHUE.
I wouldn’t do that!
Don't prank call a public service bruv
I used to to be legitamatly terrified of this ad when I was younger and I have no idea why.
Am I the only one who grew up with this ad but didn't know what it was for? XD
I suddenly remembered the number and decided to be nostalgic
I don't understand, I'm currently 16, in 2011 I would've been 4 but I remember this ad so much--
I remember this ad when I watched cartoon network
funny enough they still play this today
The one ad I will/would put up with
I remember the one with the lady singing it
Never heard it in my life. Born in Adelaide in 1990.
Teacher: You can't hear pictures
Me: 0:22
It did change my life
This add was child hood and I recently re heard it. But something was of so look this up and found this vid and they changed the singer for the tune and I don’t know why but I was physically angry but I got over it when I realized other people now have this stuck in their head too so I’m ok
Need to find that old Midland second hand tyres ad of GWN/channel 7
It can change your life!
I heard their ad on the radio the other day and they didn't even sing the number :( so sad
😭 soo sad
This ad is just as nostalgic as the roof seal ad
I literally got the same ad before this video started
My favourite part was 0:22
this is so carved into my brain jesus christ.
i can't believe they recreated the ad the original is the shit
🥰 I love this
So is the literacy rate particularly low in Australia or something for this to be so popular as to be known as the 2nd Australian national anthem?
I have chills..
Ahh the good old days :)
Ayo im back to listen to this, who else is back to listen to this?
yep
This is the only phone number I remember other than my own and my parents lol
They changed it. And I cried
WHAT
This is nostalgia at its finest
HELL YEAH. loved this add
The memories of this song
i have heard this so many times lol
I remember this number better than my own phone number.
Okay so I've read the comments. But can I please just state something?
Here in Australia we shorten words and add other letters to them to make them easier to say or more memorable. It's our slang. You people have your slang words and ours are things like saying 'oh' instead of zero. Its easier to say and remember.
And we do similar things we with names. Take a name like Dave. Most times we add an 'o' to make it Davo. It's just how we speak.
I am getting seriously annoyed at some of the comments here that are saying that "Australia is uneducated" and that "the people that made the ad should change it because it is just wrong" and so on so forth.
We know how to spell. We are not dumb Neanderthals. It is how we say certain words. There is nothing wrong with us. It's just how we are.
So if we could stop with the insults?
Thanks.
This is extreme nostalgia.
Every Aussie knows this
Girl asked me for my number yesterday I gave her this
Lmaooo
I am doing that
YUP. The agency no knowing the difference between "zero" and "O" in an add on Numeracy and Literacy........
What genre of music is this?
I remember this still remember the number
Me too I used to quote the number in early High school to friends.
If only i could read the number...
The one I remember was the lady on the radio and she said it like one three double oh six triple fivvveee oh six
Please rise for the national anthem
Literacy rate increases by 100%
