I am definitely going to purchase this mic! I was going to spend a lot more on a wireless Rode mic until your video came up.
    Thanks a million Collin!

The rode wireless system is in a completely different class to this system from hollyland.
This hollyland system for starters is on a 2.4Ghz band. That means your 2.4G wifi, your microwave, and thousands of other wireless devices will all interfere with this system.
The Wireless Go doesn't have that problem because it uses a proprietary connection technology to transmit on the 6Ghz band where almost no other devices are.
Not to mention the extreme difference in microphone.
You get what you pay for

Collin I think that your Premier Pro Videos are the best. They are well done and extremely clear. That being said, I have a problem (and I might be incorrect) but it appears that you do product reviews and I have been informed that many times the manufacturer provides those to you at no cost or for a discount. If that is the case, you and anyone receiving these products are obligated (FTC Law) to inform viewers of that fact. I am hoping that you did indeed purchase this unit at the full price and that it was not provided to you as free or heavily discounted. The reason that I have a problem with people not informing the public is that no matter what anyone says I do not believe that the review of a product can be as honest and unbiased as we would like to believe....no matter what the person says.
For over 50+ years I have been a restaurant reviewer and in an attempt to maintain integrity and be as honest as possible I always wrote the reviews with a pseudonym so that restaurant owners would not know who I was and attempt to give me better service that the other patrons. Another reason for the anonymity was to preclude a restaurant attempting to "comp" a meal. People who receive free meals or products are, in my opinion, less inclined to give even a slightly negative review. And even if they gave what they felt is an honest review there is the perception that the review is less than honest because it was "bought and paid for".
In addition to restaurant reviews I have written product reviews and for all of those products I have paid the same price that anyone else would have paid. For me, I need to maintain my integrity and an unbiased position when reviewing a product. It seems that lately there is so much government corruption and "deals behind closed doors" that we need to maintain the highest levels of transparency and integrity.
If you are receiving products for free or a discount and did a review then please give up that endeavor and maintain your well earned reputation by focusing on your instructional videos which help thousands of people. I think you have the best Premiere Pro Videos and Premiere Gal is number 2. Due to the content, value and content of your videos I am surprised that you do not charge for them.....people pay a lot of money to obtain that level of instruction.

Here's the thing, the moment viewers see anything that resembles product placement, they think it's full of lies. When a company approaches me (and I say no to more companies than yes), I see if what they're selling would be useful to the majority of my viewers. A $150 wireless mic system is prefect for them. If they watch the tutorial where I give my honest opinion, and they buy it, I know they'll have a great experience.
If, instead, they see that it's sponsored and don't watch it, they they miss a great opportunity. I am not like the vast majority of channels that say yes to anyone with a product. There's no way to distinguish the difference so that's why I do what I do.

    • @tjmarx
      @tjmarx 2 года назад

@@VideoRevealed Colin you can tell yourself whatever you like (and I've never met a RUclipsr that doesn't mention it's a sponsor video who doesn't tell themselves the same spiel you just told OP), but whatever you tell yourself that doesn't remove your legal obligations. Fact of the matter is you are obligated by law and by RUclips ToS to reveal that it's a sponsor spot. You must reveal it as a sponsor spot if you were paid, or you received goods for free (even as a review unit) and even where they didn't have a say over your copy. That's the rules. If people don't watch when you post those kinds of videos there's a reason for that and it isn't your disclosure.
There are many RUclips channels getting hundreds of thousands, if not millions of views with high watch time yield on sponsor spots despite having disclosed them as such in full. That your instinct isn't to be genuine and honest with your audience should be your first port of call for why people don't trust your sponsored reviews.
No, your viewers are not going to have a great experience with a 2.4G mic system. No one ever has a good experience with those systems which is why the higher end systems never used that band and the entire industry moved away from it as quickly as possible. There are sub $200 mic systems which don't use 2.4G, which makes this product from Hollyland all that less value. You needed to explain 2.4G to the audience and it's limitations. You also needed to explain that honestly dreadful response from the Hollyland mic. It sounds like someone strapped an in camera microphone to their chest. I've heard $15 lavs that sounded better.
You're talking about your audience buying product as if you have a vested interest therein. An honest, trustworthy review should be able to completely dump on a product if it deserves that and not have that change the financial relationship between vendor and reviewer. Reviewers should not be tied in on sales or benefit based on higher conversation ratios. Reviewers in the latter situation aren't reviewers they're sales people and don't deserve trust.

The included USB cable, serves only to recharge the device, or also to transmit the audio to the notebook/pc.
If the USB serves to transmit the audio, is it as good as the other forms of output P3 and P2 ?

The USB cable is for firmware updates. The receiver has a mini stereo jack to output the audio. You must plug that into an analog audio input.

damn, that's some canine teeth you got there.
Anyways, the most annoying thing I didn't see when I bought this were the transmitter didn't have a mic port. It was such a standard thing to have even on those cheaper wireless lapel mics so I thought they'd have that in this. I'm used to plugging a transmitter to a sound board or speaker during weddings and events, and I was really hoping I could get a transmitter/reciever that has good range.

Another cheapo wireless mic system on the 2.4Ghz band. Nothing special here. Not even the price.
Turn your microwave on and test the mic, behold the interference. Thousands of different devices on the oversaturated 2.4G band will do that to this device. Much of the cheaper kit for video is on the 2.4G band. A bit of interference on your cheapo wireless lights won't be a big impact, but on audio that's going to be a major problem.
When it comes to wireless microphone systems you get what you pay for

@@VideoRevealed I like your videos colin, I've been watching you for many years. But I'm sorry physics disagrees with you on this sponsor spot.
I think you owed your audience an explanation that this system is not even in the realms of the Rode Wireless Go system let alone professional systems from Rode, Shure, Sennheiser & Sony.
**Edit: I've seen lots of comments here where people were going to buy the wireless go system and now they mistakenly believe this hollyland system is in the same class. That's a problem that is going to cause your viewers to waste money on a product which likely will not meet their production needs**
I think you needed to put this product in context with its direct competitors in the budget sub $200 wireless mic system space of which there are many options.
Your comparison between a lapel and a shotgun was also an apples and oranges comparison.
