      I'm personally into my Xvivi U5 with the LV2 wired lavalier since it is a HUGE improvement over the included LV1 but we are talking much more expensive with wired lavaliers as the only option. I test it on my studio channel. For Comica I do like the Boom-X D... I had some issues with the pro like lack of battery life and EMI.

  • @lvc394

    This might be a problem with my M1. I used it for an event last week and it seemed to be good for the first hour. The second hour it started to introduce noise like pops and drop outs. It seemed like as the battery reach a certain level the noise came into play. I was luck that it was my backup camera and I had the Rode Go on the main camera. I just wanted to know if anyone else had this problem with the Lark M1. This is the second time I had this issue with it

    The Vimo C was released right after I received my Lark M1 from Amazon. I immediately returned the M1 and ordered the Vimo C. So glad I did. I prefer everything about the Vimo C, especially the addition of a display screen. I mount my receiver upside down and I'm even able to flip the display! How awesome is that? Even the form fitting case is superior. The only thing I preferred about the Lark M1 are the dead cats. On the Vimo C, they attach to the transmitter with kind of a rubbery band, whereas, on the Lark M1 they attach with a harder band that just feels more secure. Get the Vimo C!

    Nice product. Thankfully, I have my GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) in check, so I didn't feel compelled to run out - and or type in my browser - and get the Comica Vimo C. To be honest, I already have the Comica Boom XD, which is a two-transmitter wireless system much like the Rode Wireless GO II. And the Comica Boom XD quality is excellent and it too has the safety track, mono, stereo features as well. For quality, it's a tie between the Rode Wireless GO II, Hollyland Lark 150 and the Comica Boom XD. All three of them have excellent audio quality. You couldn't go wrong with any of them.

Quality depends on the Lav mic or source (no included Lavs w/W60). I occasionally will be using the Rode VideoMicro on camera cage with deadcat instead of Lav mic in windy locations; otherwise, I use the Zoom LMF-2 or/and Aputure A-Lav with foam or deadcat [both covered by Curtis Judd]. I am not depending on the internal mics unless time is an issue-- interviewee has tight schedule, need to run-and-gun, site location availability is short, etc. Amps do not seem to be introducing problems, but you seem to want quantifiable comparative data in controlled conditions, which Curtis Judd is great at.

      if you are in North America, your camera should be set to NTSC. if you live almost anywhere else in the world, you need to set you camera to PAL. the power grids in PAL countries flicker at 50hz so you pr camera will pick up this flickering in the lights.

    • @MarkBennettCameraCrisis
      @MarkBennettCameraCrisis  Год назад +1

      the dji are very different - much more expensive, and I think you need a lav for the dji because they are bigger. but the dji have internal recording and also sound better than the comica. The DJI are great if you’re willing to pay the money

    I use an overhead-boomed Shure SM58 (internal foam removed from ball grill) recorded to the Zoom Podtrak P4 and synched in post by DaVinci Resolve.
    I would love to boom my Deity D4 Duo, but my extension cable introduces an unacceptable buzz recorded by the Sony ZV-E10.
    Suggestions?

    • @MarkBennettCameraCrisis
      @MarkBennettCameraCrisis  Год назад +1

      I would try another 3.5mm extension cable. I don’t have the Deity duo, but all my 3.5mm mics from rode work in the zv-e10 with the extension cable with no buzz.

    Hi Mark, plugged in my Comica to my ZV-E10 and the reciever is showing everything working but when I record the sound still seems to be coming from the on board mic. Is there a setting I need to change on the E10 or plug the mic in before turning the camera on etc?

    • @MarkBennettCameraCrisis

      Just check you have the 3.5mm cable plugged in securely. Sometimes it seems like it's in - but it needs an extra push to click all the way in.

      These are not indoor studio mics. You shouldn't use them for that. These are portable lav mics meant for on location - the sound quality does not compete with
      boomed mics in a studio. It's better than the cameras mic (which is of course bad), but not as good as a boomed mic. Won't sound great in a studio.
