    The prism to level is a great feature.

    Maybe rename the video since there are the FSB Mark II versions coming out soon...

    Finally! This looks perfect

      @robojim4000 3 года назад

      It isn’t. Now with a slider you have to balance it twice

    •  3 года назад

      @@robojim4000 yes and no, it's common to adjust the camera on top of the slider anyways, because you don't always want to be horizontal, this gives you more flexibility. besides this design allows you to go flat with your tripod, and that's something really useful.

      @ having looked at it again, it might be the small slider to head adapter doesn’t actually allow for head adjustment - and it just locks in flat? Maybe

      Guess we'll have to wait and see.

    Are the aktiv6 and aktiv8 sideload versions compatible with Manfrotto plates?

    • @maxhernie8053
      @maxhernie8053 3 года назад

      only the 8 has both a touch and go and a side loading plate model. i think the 6 has side loading only

    How can you put this head on a dolly? with my video 20 i use a 100mm ball adapter onto a Mitchell plate on the Fischer dolly, let me know please.

    Just got two of these for my students. They simply do not work. The head does not lock into the spigot. Once the head is placed, it lifts up with minimal effort. Would hate to place an expensive camera on this system. May be user error but a tripod system should not require this much effort.

    So no-one is gonna mention how you now have to balance your slider TWICE?! (Once for the slider and once for the head on top of the slider) - having to balance twice is not quicker than balancing once

      Well, two leveling is a problem because they can be out of phase?

    Details on difference in 8 vs 8T?

    • @dollhausenx
      @dollhausenx 3 года назад +1

      I think the difference is just the Touch and Go plate instead of the standard plate. That is the same as the current version. It's nice to have the choice.

    • @dannypgrizzle
      @dannypgrizzle 3 года назад

      This only makes sense to people already familiar with these various camera plates. You can’t define the word “dictionary” be explaining it means dictionary.

    • @dollhausenx
      @dollhausenx 3 года назад +2

      @@dannypgrizzle I think Sachtler figures that people who are going to spend nearly 2 grand on a fluid head have an understanding of the plates. If you look at the photos at B&H, you will see that the T plate is a small plate attached to the camera that snaps into the larger plate on the fluid head. It's also called a "Euro-style" plate.The other is where you have a longer plate on the bottom of the camera that loads sideways into the locking mech. This allows for sliding (for balance) back and forth. I like the T plates because the snap-in and locking is faster. But I use a small camera and lenses and only have one camera.

    For f*ck sake, just bought an FSB-8

      FSB8 is great....probably more relieable than the aktiv heads....and better value for money!

    • @zerokenshi
      @zerokenshi 3 года назад

      The increased friction controls are what appeal to me the most. The FsB-8's are exceptionally weak.
