Those manfrotto heads are complete trash. Every 500ah head I've used that's more than a year old just feels awful to shoot on and like it's aged 20 years already.
@@GlassfilmWeddings lol sounds like something someone that's been shooting for 7 years would say. I'm gonna go ahead and listen to the old heads that been doing this for 40 years.
who ever is filming this stands half a meter away yet a wireless, a. freaking. wireless. mic system is used. w. t. f. well, the name of the channel checks out
These sticks close up once their max weight is reached and the camera falls. No professional would use flotech, its for consumers. Losers. You cant put an arri on this.
Best legs ever. Can never go back to individual knobs ever. So slow and cumbersome compared to this. Best piece of gear we've bought in decades. Seriously. Game changer.
I went with Manfrotto Carbon Fiber 645 legs and Manfrotto Nitrotech 608 Fluid Video Head. It’s got very similar features but it was $1200. I was looking at the sachtler, but didn’t quite have enough.
The Nitrotech is horrible, there is pretty much zero dampening. As a result, they should call it a photography tripod. Returned mine and got a sachtler, zero regrets. Feels as smooth as my cartoni, if not smoother.
Manfrotto Nitrotech head is horrible, it had ZERO dampening. Don't trust them as a company anymore with what they're charging compared to what you get. They should call it a photography tripod honestly. Had to return mine and got an entire sachtler setup. The dampening on that one is amazing and well worth it for a tripod. You'll have it for many many years, you'll actually be able to pan/tilt with it smoothly (which is a big part of owning a tripod) and it's ergonomics are amazing. It's steep for the price but buy once, cry once. I'd prioritize a sachtler, miller or cartoni head then buy cheaper legs. Manfrottos new legs are not bad, I'll give them that. I like the weight and their quick releases latches.. but avoid those tripod heads at all costs.
I found a used aluminum Lazer level tripod at a thrift store and I can clamp my Bogen super clamp onto the base plate to hold a DSLR camera or large format or view camera.
Got to 1:57 ànd - 🤔"HEY!!😀 A totally honest and informed review!! A REAL review of the Flowtech 75 rather than a 'puff piece'!!" Will subscribe to the channel for that alone😄; THANK YOU
Need to seriously look at one, my new camera rig is heavier than ever and it’s not always convenient to take the camera off to adjust a traditional tripod, which is awkward to adjust when the camera is attached.
i have surveyed things during college days with theodolites and total stations..so i'm kinda familiar with tripods but you cinematographer video/photo guys seem a a little bit too much vested in what is just three legged stands, oh look a level lol
Manfrotto video heads = Ford, Sachtler video heads = Ferrari. 500ah head on flowtech 75 tripod = Ferrari wheels on a Ford.

So Sachler is overpriced, unreliable and breaks down quickly? I think you mean Toyota.
When you spent 5-10k on a camera that last 3-5 years, spending 2k on a tripod that lasts 10-20 years is a very good deal.
Smallrig tripod testing. My manfrotto last 7 years and still going. This is 100% overpriced lol.
@@GlassfilmWeddings Use the two tripods side by side and you will understand what you are paying for.

and manfrotto is junk. your an odd one out on that@@GlassfilmWeddings
$2,000 is exspensive for a tripod? Look up Oconnor, or some 200k vintens.

if you've ever experienced a $100k cinema camera fully decked out with equipment, things like this seem more reasonable

Wait so you're saying it's better than the $3 tripod I got from goodwill?
Lol Great Review!!
Not sturdy? lol wtf. you need to use your ground level or mid level spreader that it comes with.
The head is kinda silly though
Appreciate your fast approach to both opinion and facts. Lovely tripod for sure.
Man that thing means business!

Go with what you can afford. But the Manfrotto in a couple of years not going to hold up unless you baby it to hell.

Yey finally a new vid

Great video. You state not as rigid as others, do you have a favourite 'more rigid' type?

About to order these sticks. Tired of how slow my Miller legs are to work with. I see those Magnepans in the back too, good taste 🔥
So this is Josh's secret sauce 2nd page.... Neat
Thanks for telling us about its sturdiness and what it's mainly for.
Great video! Love your honest opinion and how you use it in your setup.

Embarassing. Flowtech is shit btw. Not professional.
