I just watched 3 other videos on how to make the little dress topper and yours is by FAR the easiest to follow. Thank you 😊
Awww. Have fun. I hope it works out for you 😊
J B 💝✂️ I discovered a way to sew faster and easier even as a beginner, I talk more about it in my channel, I hope it helps those who need it.
how to download the pattern please
In the files section in my Facebook GROUP. There are two pin posts to tell you how to get the patterns.
Finally, someone who doesn't waste fabric! I'm SUCH a fabric miser!! I make these too...a little different from yours, but as you said, fun to make.
Love the toppers. My grandma used to make these with the ones that match and go on dish soap. It’s nice to see someone still making these.
That’s cool. People love these!
Those are adorable. My grandma had some like that in her kitchen. I always loved them. I have a country kitchen. I think I'm going to make some to look like overalls using some light weight denim material. And a sunflower towel. Thank you for sharing this with us. Have a blessed day 💐
Oh wow. I might try that too. Good idea. Thanks
@@JoannasDIYLife I would love to see a video it you do it. I have some denim valences with overall buckles, that I bought years ago. They would work perfect for it. They already have the tabs at the top, to go over the stove handle. Thank you for making these videos and teaching us how to make such cute things.
@@charlenescraftsandcreation3511 I was thinking of maybe a denim pocket for the top 🤔
@@JoannasDIYLife That would be cute also. Would love to see it if you make one.
Charlene , that's a great idea , maybe you can show us how they turned out when you're done 👍
I can't wait to make these towel toppers! Thank you!
Joanna I really like them. You are a great teacher!!! 🙂
Oh goodness, thank you 😊
I would have to hem the ruffle. Those raw edges would drive me crazy. Lol
Very cute towels. I will give them a try. ❤️ 😍
Thank you 😊
I love that gathering foot!!
Me too! A whole lot better that by hand and my string breaking on me.
I just watch your tutorial. It is awesome. So easy to follow. Thanks!
Thank you 😊. Have fun!
Sandy Gaddy 💝✂️ I discovered a way to sew faster and easier even as a beginner, I talk more about it in my channel, I hope it helps those who need it.
Thank you for showing how to do this. I love it!! You made it look so easy. God bless.
Thank you. Happy sewing 🧵
❤. My poor family is going to have around 100 these everywhere for the holidays! 🤣
My kitchen has decorative towels everywhere! Haha
Did I miss the seam allowance? 😢
@@rhondaverma6358 I usually do 1/8 but you can go up to 1/2. I think the smaller the better
Adorable. Thank you for sharing.
This is such a cute project!! Can't wait to make some!!
Thank you 😊
Adorable. Your instructions are great. Thank you 😊 💓
Thank you 😊
Very nice. Wish I was experienced enough to figure out how to make boys matching pants tea towel. Would love it if you made one in your Saturday shows.
I have no idea 🤷🏻♀️
These are very cute and original. Thank you!
Oh no, thank you 😊
Excellent tutorial. Thank you. I am excited to make some. Really appreciate the explanation on the snap setter.
Thank you 😊
Glad I found you today. Working on this now. I hope mine turns out as nice as yours. Thank you for an excellent tutorial.
Your welcome glad to have you. And I’m sure it will be. If you happen to be on Facebook feel free to join my group and post a picture of anything that you make. Inspiration to all is always welcome!
@@JoannasDIYLife I will definitely do that. I've been looking at the things you've made. You make it easy to understand. I've only been sewing about a year. I was looking for a good teacher and I believe I've found her. I'm going to try making the bunny's next.
That Girl that's Me 💝✂️ I discovered a way to sew faster and easier even as a beginner, I talk more about it in my channel, I hope it helps those who need it.
Love how detailed you are ♥️
Thank you 😊
And she's done it again! But! Something I think I can do!
Thank you! 🤗
Girl, you got this!
I always hem my ruffles (& cut- never tear) and add lace/ribbon trim due to the fabric raveling too much when wasing towel with use!!
Wow! Enjoyed your presentation! Beautiful towels! Thank you for no loud music! I could hear and understand!😊
Thank you 😊
Can't wait to make this!!
Have fun sewing!
Good to see you save every inch... Am just the same.. Lovely pattern
Wow I didn’t know you could gather with your machine. I’m so going to try this! I also think your tutorial is easy to understand. Thank you for sharing your gifts.
Thank you 😊

Just found you by accident and it was the best accident I've ever had! Excited to make these and bought those cool gator clips and the snap tool kit on your amazon store. I also subscribed to your site and I am excited to see what other wonderful things you make! Thanks!
Awesome. Thank you for your support. Happy to have you!

Thank you. Yes ma’am they sure do😉
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing
You are sew easy to follow thanks so much! Would you consider on doing a vid on how to read sewing patterns/paper? Iv done little things but would like to get into large things like clothes and such! Have a blessed day.
I will as soon as I can. I will do a child’s dress for my grand baby.
@@JoannasDIYLife Thank you very much! ❤
I agree with J B. I bought the Simplicity pattern for this, and even though I've been sewing for nearly 30 years, occasionally I end up with a pattern that stumps me at some point. The Simplicity pattern only has you cut 2 of the top of the dress, and I tried and tried to make it work. This way would be MUCH better and easier. Thank you!!
Sometimes patterns confuse me as well.
@@JoannasDIYLife Thank goodness it's not just me!
@@JoannasDIYLife that goes double for me.. they assume everyone knows how to sew..
Putting every step in is really important 👌 💯..
As a retired teacher, if a student consistently wasn't getting it, it was my fault..Cuz some learn at different rates..
@@kiddor909gmail thank God for pictures 😁
very cute
Hi, I just found you. This looks like a fun project. I love it that you are so fugal with your fabric.
Do you ever do sewing projects with treadle sewing machine? I love people powered machines.
So cute
Thank you 😊
Adorable! I like the metal clips, can I ask where you found them? Love your tutorials, thank you. Can’t wait to make one!
Thank you. I got mine at Hobby Lobby but I have some in my Amazon store if you shop there.
I love this video I'm going to subscribe in the channel because I think I can learn a lot of things from u...🥰
Thank you. I pray I meet your expectations. Lol
Just found your channel I watched a few other channels and yours is far easier for a non sewer thank you❤
Aww thank you. 😊
I. Have those exact same scissors. They are singers and come in a set of 4 I think dor about $20 on amazon. They're fair. They did need a good sharpening out of the box. Very cute projects. I have a 5yo great granddaughter who loves dresses. I want to make a bunch of these for her hope chest.
Mine were sharp out of the package. I like them but since I got my Kai scissors I don’t use the Singer much. I love the Singer sniper though!!
@@JoannasDIYLife i like the snipper too. I use it quite a bit. I bought the set because I was away from home and had to do some sewing. Now that Im home, I have my spring loaded shears that I just love and have had for 20 years. They're only fiscers but they were a better wuality pair..and I paid well for them. They were worth it.
@@jayempress4203 wow I have a pair of those too. Lol
I’d prefer to hem edge of ruffle and do both sides ,
Use fusible interfacing on second one
Never thought of snaps, thank you, hopefully I can make today if accepted oñ Facebook ❤🏴 Scotland 💙
Would love to have you. Just make sure you answer the questions or it may reject you.
Awesome live
Thank you 😊
I love this. It turned out so cute. Might have to try it. How did you make your pin cushion. I need something like that
Thank you. And there is a tutorial in my sewing playlist for all types of pincushions.
Very precise..thank yòu.. SO much work though, I'm not sure I could sell them after putting that much time into it...
I guess you can probably get it done faster the more you practice so it might be worth it..
how much do you sell these for ? Blessings sent yr way 🙏
I’m in a small town so when I had my business I only got $10 out of them 😕
I dont use walmart fabric it fall apart. Cute dress
I’ve never had a problem with it.

Thank you 😊
Hi. I was trying on my own . And I found your VD. BTW, I ❤️ it.
But I have a question on the mini iron I have seen many people with. How is it. ?
It’s a good one. I absolutely love it with or without steam. It works very well on the wool pressing mat.
Not for a beginner , I was lost after 5 mins. I really wanted to make this.
So sorry
If at first you don’t succeed try, try again.
I'd love to see how you attached your kamsnap to the wooden device. Intriguing. Love these towels. Do you happen to know if there's a male version to give as a gift for a bachelor?
I’ll try to do a tutorial on the Kamsnap holder. I will work on a manly design because that’s neat😉 thank you for the idea
Nice job. Have you tried using the awk to poke the hole??
Sure have!
I think his are most definitely stinki' cute.
How do you hang the towel? It is so cute.
The towel drapes over the oven handle and either has snaps or ties at the waist to secure together.
That ''dress" idea is gonna go as cute pinafore on one of my mother's dolls in her collection. I never was a girly girl So I'm not really into cute stuff comma ever practical and pragmatic If it doesn't have a purpose it doesn't belong in my kitchen takin' up space. If it's cutesy and it has a towel on it, it's gonna get used for God only knows, and he ain't tellin'... And then it won't be cute anymore!
Putting them on a doll is a great idea and mine aren’t cute because I actually use them lol. They are only cute once!
What if I wanted to add some lace to the sleeves of that dress? Is that a option?
Yes. That would be pretty
I know you can buy the tool to attach the snaps but the one you use on the wooden stand I did not find. I have bad hands and no strength to use the regular tool so I would like to know how to get that one on the wooden stand and also the snaps

Hi Joanna, I just made one of the top sections of the dress, and it seems awfully small. I printed the pattern as big as I could get it without running over the edge of the paper, and used a 1/4" seam. From the outer edge of one outside of the sleeve to the outer edge of the other sleeve, what is the finished size supposed to be?
It’s right at 7 inches high from the bottom to the top of the shoulder when finished and across the shoulders will be between 10 and 10 1/2 and the waist will be between six and 6 1/2 all inches.
@@JoannasDIYLife Thank you!
Your welcome
I am having the same problem, my top measures 8 in at shoulders, I have hardly any sleeve😩

Hi Joanna, how do I purchase your pattern for tea towel dress?
I was unable to find your store on Amazon.
You will have to join my Facebook group. Remember to answer the questions. It will be a pdf file in the files section.
How do you keep the ruffle from fraying at the bottom when it gets washed?
I sew a straight stitch close to the bottom. If it has a few strings after washing I just clip them off. Some don’t prefer that look so they hem, serge, or zigzag the edges.
What stops the ruffle from fraying if you don’t hem it?
A straight line stitch close to the edge
