    You could sew a piece of bias tape over the raw end of the towel before you ad it onto the pot holder. It would make a finished edge across it..Thanks for sharing. This is a really cute idea.

    My OCD would definitely force me to finish the backside edge of the towel with some edging, but these are the easiest I've seen made so far.

      It’s faster for sure. Just make sure you don’t get a glue that gums up your needle. I use jot from Dollar Tree and have never had a problem. There is one for sewing in my Amazon store.

    • @JoannasDIYLife

      They make fabric glue sticks but the one I’m using here are the ones from Dollar Tree. You cannot use just any glue stick because it will gum your needle. I have a fabric glue stick listed in my Amazon store. All you have to do is click the link.

    Your mats have to be washed often kept out of sun ,care for them , I’ve the very first one I bought in 1989 , came with lip edge ruler, a rotary cutter , regular price was $39.99 was on sale for 50% off at Northwest Fabrics it’s 34x23 0lfa green mat ! It’s strictly for sewing I see people painting , using cement glue etc , not me ! It’s not cracked or warped, looks brand new I store in my sewing closet inside two pieces of cardboard!

      @JoannasDIYLife  2 года назад +1

      I have had a Fiskers cutting mat forever, but I crafted on it, and when I went to clean it, the solvent that I cleaned it with smeared my letters and my marks😭 I have yet to find one of those brand that reads the numbers from the right to the left, which is the way that I like to cut better. I got this blue June Tailor one and I do not like it one bit except for the fact that the numbers are where I want them.

    • @revecarodriguez709
      @revecarodriguez709 2 года назад +2

      I forgot to mention I do have a June Tailor cutting mat it’s 23x 17 found it Alco when they were closing the store , wasn’t marked so I asked how much they wanted ? They asked me what is that , I wasn’t about to tell them for fear they’d up the price , so the mgr says $1.00 , I’ll take it ! After the sale I told’em what it was ( cutting mat ) they run about $30 or more for larger ones ! I got the sorriest star from him like “ give it back !” This board is ok not as good as Olfa mats self healing but for the $1.00 I spent on it I’m not going to argue ! The rotary cuts seem to heal after a while it’s blue with white measurements on it , the part I really like is the handle on one end let’s me hang it ! I also have one from Walmart Wescott brand isn’t worth the money I paid for it I needed a small mat for quilting or small projects, it still bears the rotary cuts I made on it after Covid epidemic back in 2019 , I bought to make masks 😷! Won’t ever buy another mat like that now they’re small scissors are great , very sharp, lightweight, handy for embroidery work or crocheting! Enjoy your mat read up in Pinterest how to care for it & it’ll service you for many years , don’t ever use a dull blade on it that’ll damage the mat ! When I cut fleece on mine I get a round dish scrubber from Dollar General , rub it lightly to pick up lint left behind !
