The entire "Anchor Being" bit is a jab at how Wolverine was the only thing keeping Fox's Marvel Universe afloat. With Wolverine dead, nobody wanted to watch the X-Men movies or the F4 reboot. So Fox had to go with the merger. The reason that universe is "saved" is because Deadpool brings a new Wolverine but more on the nose, because Ryan Reynolds helped convinced Hugh Jackman to reprise his role thus "restoring" the anchor being.
The marvel properties were only the tip of the iceberg. MASH, the simpsons, family guy and so many others will be green grass properties that will provide revenue for decades.

I've been a huge Blade fan even before the movies came out but the second I saw Wesley Snipes as Blade I knew he was made for this role and no one else would do. So when Blade 3 came out and I saw that Ryan Reynolds was playing Hannibal King I was disappointed because he really wasn't like Hannibal King in the comics and I could totally understand why Wesley Snipes didn't like him and I was hoping he wouldn't ever play Hannibal King again but little did I know at the time that Ryan Reynolds was going to end up playing one of my top most favorite characters Deadpool and just like Wesley Snipes was made to play Blade Ryan Reynolds was absolutely made to play Deadpool so I was flipping out the second I saw Wesley Snipes Blade cameo in Deadpool/Wolverine. And that line you referenced was so funny. I'm sure after 20 years they've buried the hatchet at I hope so and I really hope that Wesley Snipes revises his role as Blade and they add in more Deadpool to the mix. But what I'm truly hopeful for to see in my lifetime is a movie series of the Rise of the Midnight Sons and or Spirits of Vengeance and we get to see Blade and Morbius and Ghost Rider team up. I doubt we'll ever get that lucky but I can hope lol..
@@djnes2k7 Not only that but Reynolds personally called Snipes to ask him to reprise the role. He clearly had nothing but respect for how Snipes is effectively the reason modern superhero genre exists.

Hugh realized a Wolverine/Deadpool pair up would be a classic buddy film as soon as he saw the first Deadpool.. which came out 3 days after he retired from being Wolverine. It was just a matter of time til it actually happened.

I’d like to see Daniel Radcliffe or Scott Eastwood portray MCU Wolverine, but I still want to see Jackman in the MCU as either Old Man Logan or Romulus, an immortal mutant with a striking resemblance to Wolverine and the shadow architect of the Weapon X project. His claws are more akin to Sabretooth’s, but he has gauntlets with five Adamantium blades.
