The guy w/ 8 DUIs needs to go to prison for a significant amount of time. Why wait until he kills someone to lock him up when it’s obvious he’s a danger to society? The fact that he’s not in prison is a huge failure of the justice system.
Alcohol appears to be the fuel for so many of these upstanding citizens.
i didnt know that was even possible for him still to get any type of license. prison, or maybe they should have somewhere just for addicts. where theyre locked up and kept sober for a certain amount of time. something like jail. but only addicts locked up together. i think its time.

I was hit head on on the interstate by a drunk. It was her eighth DUI and she'd never served a day. That wreck left her paralyzed from the neck down and her 15 year old son was brain-dead from time of impact, taken off life support 4 days later. Maybe if she'd been held responsible before that her son would still be alive.

Funny weed was treated far differently than drunks driving around over and over again.
My brother had his license taken away for a decade for DUIs. Alcoholics are drunk all the time, that includes when it’s time to drive. So he’ll never be able to drive again until he gets sober. He never hurt anyone, I knew a sober him. Alcoholism is so powerful.
When are we going to stop allowing habitual offenders to get away with multiple offenses .?

well rehabilitate pple instead of punishing them. Most of these pple would be much better if they had a decent year in jail with good food, friends, education… treated humanely. Not to mention mental health focused care. Our prisons are empty in scandinavia. Repeat offender rate is extremely low
@@thegalhorowitz I guess you didn;t know NO American Jails or maximum security prisons have "Good Food". And there will never be any support for that.. The food in many hospitals is nearly inedible prisoners are down at the bottom of the list for "Good Food" We have repeat offenders in the USA because they know they will not stay in jail long so they do not fear being arrested. Or being locked up long. USA has much more dangerous violent criminals than Scandanavia .

DUI arrests are not treated as harshly as they should be. Today there are so many options for rides when someone is drunk, there is NO EXCUSE! Every DUI arrest should be sorting recycling for hours.
It should result in an impounded vehicle, and upon conviction that vehicle is subject to public auction, the proceeds going to a DUI victim's fund. Taking licenses doesn't work, so let's take the cars.

Remember the night I got absolutely wasted. Then they had cabs and I had the good sense to call one. I was just minding my own business with a plate of wings, a beer and a submarine sandwich ( roast beef as I recall). Dude came in trying to start a fight. He took a swing at me and I dodged and went to push him off of me. Bartender grabbed him and he got into a fight with the bartender. I just fell on top of him and suddenly he couldn’t move. Cops thought we got into it till the bartender said “ no the big dude helped me by falling on the guy “. Cops thanked me for keeping it from getting ugly and they apologized to me. Bartender was nice to me. He got me a fresh beer, a fresh plate of wings on the house and paid for my cab ride home. Don’t drink as much anymore but I still appreciate a good meal I don’t have to cook. Good Friends at the bar will drive you home if they’re not drinking or they’ll help you find a cab. Remember you can’t keep them in business if your in jail for DUI

My mom got 8 DUIs before she went to jail for 15 months. She’s been sober for 20 years and she just got her license back last month.
It took my husband 10 years to get his license back and he only had 3 DUIs. Due to weird circumstances and red tape with dui classes in California

don't be so naive.........if someone has a problem child there's a good chance they created the problem. Unless the child is born with problems - we are all the product of our upbringing. Parents have a lot to answer for and should take more responsibility for how their kids turn out.

The people those officers meet on a daily basis is so shocking...Drunk,drugged,prostitutes,convicts, Some look so scruffy.. some look intoxicated,some have mental issues on top of that are drug users and dealers.I'm shocked old women the age of my mother or grandmother are there too...

Each DUI should equal years in jail. 1st = 1 year, 2nd = 2 years and so on.

8 DUIs. I will never understand why our laws are so lax on drinking and driving. I've seen lives destroyed by them! It should be looked at at attempted murder. A person knowingly gets behind a wheel drunk just like someone intentionally loads a gun. When they choose to drive it us no different then walking around pointing the gun at random people. We do not tolerate that behavior and we shouldn't tolerate this behavior. I'm sickened.

I've seen this female cop before. She purposely entices people in there. Clearly the drunk chick deserves to be arrested, but if you go through other episodes of this with her in it you'll see what I'm talking about and watch her behavior in this again. Seems nothing has changed she'll be as callous as you could be and won't let others speak then put her hands on them and claim they are being difficult, etc.
right, because cops should treat people arrested for battery and domestic violence with kid gloves. Give them a croissant and a massage maybe. Have you ever even been arrested? Compared to most cops you run up against in the real world she is very sympathetic.
