A lot of unprofessional attitude from these officers, too.
I can't imagine how hard it is being a CO. Gotta let the inmates know who's roof they're under, must be absolutely unyielding, but not excessively forceful or harsh. That's a tightrope to walk if there ever was one.
Exactly. Yet they sell this type of interaction as "real police work" and make people believe this is how it should be.
Unprofessional

These episodes point out how we have traded mental health for jails
Some people just behave badly. Not every disruptive person has a mental illness. It could be drugs, alcohol or just plain defiance.
Most of these aren't "mental heath" anything. They're drunk, tweeking, or hyperliberal anti-establishment people who weren't raised to understand respect, and not used to getting their own way.

Drinking and drugs just intensify whatever emotions you are feeling at the time. If you're in a bad place it's not gonna help at all.
I know it’s exhausting for the police to deal with people like this constantly and i commend them. Having said that after working within the mental health field for 15 years there were so many occasions in this video better communication and de-escalation skills from the police would have avoided so much drama.
