Every time these mini drivers come back to the market we never get the niche market where they matter the most. Us shorter guys...Put this club in the hands of a 5'5-5'9 player see if it really changes anything for the people that really have issues with a 44+inch driver shaft. Sure we can cut our shafts down but a 44inch shaft with a driver head the size of a damn trashcan isn't really that appealing to look at. 460 looks like 500+ anymore they way they are shaping these things now days. I'd imagine the 11 degree in stiff turned down to about 10.5 would deliver some immaculate results for us shorter guys that create club head speed but a video showing it would be pretty sweet to have on the comparison
THIS
This might be a game changer for me!
Josh... for an average golfer, it seems the only option for gaming this club is if you got rid of your driver. You wouldn't replace your longest club (minus driver) ie. 5 wood or 3 wood because it would be harder to hit off the deck. So is it your sense this replaces drivers?
Mini driver shaft should 43.75 which is one inch longer than a standard 5 wood and 1/2” longer than a standard 3 wood. But you look pretty tall tall so maybe your 5 wood is 1” longer than standard.
I wonder what the 11.5° numbers would be against the driver?
Can you do a comparison of your AI Smoke Triple Diamond Driver to the new Triple Diamond Max?
Why don’t your videos get more traction??? It is annoying because you’re epic.
I’m not sure but what I am sure of is that I appreciate your support
Because a lot of people are turned off by the ridiculous amount of pro Christian prop included in his GOLF videos.
You want more watchers, stop yelling about God in your videos. 😊
@@johnklaus9111 I just don’t know if I believe that. Grant is very much Christian and talks about it so are the good good boys especially Garrett. But maybe I guess.
@@nickbraun1196 There is a difference in how they speak about it in videos. Can you tell the difference?
Good info JK, wish I had a need for a mini driver, keep it coming!
Thanks man! Lucky you. I need to hit more fairways 😅
@joshkelleygolf ohhh you went the complete opposite direction for me needing one 😆, I haven't played golf since I broke my neck and had both knees replaced, I want to but times are tough so I just live vicariously through you, Grant, Micah, BustaJack, Bryan Bros, and Good Good lol, thanks again for the amazing content, Proverbs 3:5-6
@@csdthadudeoh shoot I’m so sorry to hear that man! I appreciate you watching. I’ll try to keep the content going
Do you need a membership to use the launch monitor?
It comes with a 1 year premium membership
Yes, after the first year
Nice video, been waiting for a review of this. What shaft do you have in it? And do you know if you can do custom fit for the shaft? Everything I've seen is Denali blue stiff and I could really do with x-stiff (driver swing speed is 115-118 on course)
like to see the numbers with 11.5 loft compared to 13.5 to close the gap on driver even more possibly
Better test would be to use the lower lofted version and see the spin rates..
Comparison I was looking for. Love your channel and collabs, Josh! I love my Smoke driver and 3 wood. I liked the way the TM Mini Driver felt at the store, but couldn't pull the trigger because, well... I was waiting for Callaway to drop their own 😂 This was really helpful.
Love to see another mini driver out there. Glad to see this one performing!
This how 3w should have been all along after drivers got to 460 cc.
waiting for mine to ship this week glad i ordered day 1 because it sold out in 2 days on callaway site.
I guess you could game this and take out your driver and 3 wood to add another wedge?
I need to get a Rapsodo, knowing your yardages inside and out is so important for on the course.
Yeah it’s helped my game this year a lot.
I'm glad you mentioned a 2-wood, because that is really what this is. You don't see 2-woods any longer but they used to be much more common. Sam Snead used one instead of a driver for awhile, and my father, a good golfer back in the 40's and 50's, always carried one. I have a 14 degree Taylormade "mini-driver." I've put away my 3-wood and use that instead. I can hit it off the turf 5 to 10 years further than my 3-wood, but it's still 20 yards shorter than my driver.
I love my 3 wood.
That thing is deadly!....you should give one away to your "left-handed" subscribers! LOL!😁😁
Id never replace a driver for a mini driver but id replace a 3 wood potentiallly but maybe just up the loft slightly
I just wanna know how these are off the deck (maybe not a perfect lie too) and out of rough.
Trying to find top of the bag clubs as a lefty sucks LOL
I have a Callaway mini 1.5 , if this thing is better than that, it has to be illegal as the Mini 1.5 is PERFECT
I figured the spin is higher, but in turn makes it more forgiving. Honestly looks like Calloway got that one correct for sure.
Happy father's day
Looks to be more accurate! I may look into this :) Another great video. Thanks Josh!
I always wanted one of the mini drivers, but as a lefty I am tired of buying clubs just to be able to try them!
Life is tough for a lefty 😅
Go to golf galaxy and demo it first.
@@atamagashock I have to drive over 2 hours to get to a Dick’s sporting goods and they have barely any left handed clubs.
I'm glad the looks changed. I can't stand the cheap look of the smoke decal!
When I grow up I wanna drive like Josh Kelley.
Everyone loves a mini driver, but no one uses them.
Such a nice club but so expensive unfortunately
You just can’t buy them so what’s the point
Heavy weight forward or back on the mini?
Why dont people try a 13 degree driver with a shorter shaft would be even more forgiving
Honestly, the mini driver feels different, in that the head weight and drag is different. If you went that route, the head would probably be lighter, and off the deck would be difficult, I use it as a 3 wood replacement. Still have a driver in the bag for the open par 5s and long 4s.
@@Michael-9llI have the same setup. Miss my 3wood occasionally on long par5 as fairway wood. But mini driver from tee is so easy to hit and most courses have some tight fairways
Would you post the dispertion of these two?
Itd be cool to do a comparison with the -1.5 shafted driver to match the mini shaft length
I know when I drop in a -1.5” shaft in my driver I find the middle of the face wayyyy better
It’s all about making the $
pretty much as you'd expect
Lol! Copy TaylorMade much? Pathetic.
Callaway made one years ago.
What were the spin numbers?
Man i like it lol great video
Should be 43 3/4 length and not the same length as the 5 wood. Should be slightly longer than the 3 wood.
This has more options with shafts too!
it's all about the spin
Love to see some spin numbers too
Great video sir!
hey josh what adapter does it have. the driver or the fairway adapter
Driver.
What if you put the driver shaft in the mini driver head?
Why doesn’t anyone have the 11.5?
I do! And I love it. Replaced my driver. 10-15 yards shorter carry than my regular driver but runs out better. Heavy weight in front location. A bullet fairway finder 😊
Love it! 🤩🤩
What type of ball flight monitor are you using?
Rapsodo. So good
Having hit this driver and used a mini driver, I want to say a few things:
1) the "Smoke" in the name comes from the feeling on a face strike. You cannot feel what part of the face you hit, no matter where nyou hit and what result you get.
2) This is fine for very high handicaps who can't hit the ball but I would suggest they just should never hit a driver ever.
3) better players using this club will see an erosion of center face contact. This could mess up your swing.
Best of luck.😊
Let's just copy tyalotmade why don't we
Let's freaking go 🏌️
