Just to let you know, you can actually go into different gamemodes while you're editing a shot, and place and break blocks .. IN THE EDITOR. This mod is so cool, and that feature let's you add in potential greenscreens an stuff you mighta forgot about
quick tip! instead of mp4 choose mov, and then for the codec choose quicktime, doing this will skip the green screen process, and you’ll get a transparent video! so u can now use green in the shot without it getting keyed out!
I tried this out when making this, and when I put the video into resolve it wasn't transparent, idk what I did wrong but i didn't mention it bc it didn't work for me
9:08 a cool trick i saw someone using (i can't remember who it was sadly) was using shaders to get a DOP effect! you don't have full control / the ability to keyframe it, but auto focus on something like complementary works pretty well :D great video btw! love seeing ppl talk about this mod
If you render the same video twice, and once using a depth map shader, you can add in a perfectly accurate depth of field effect in post using davinci resolve, blender, or I'm sure many others. You should check the reduced randomness option in flashback though so that the depth map and regular footage is the same.
the only thing about the whole tracking part is that you can just export the camera data in replay mod so it aligns perfectly anyway, then you can export the player as a 3D animated model, match the lighting in blender and you achieve the same result without spending way too much time on tracking, but this mod is definitely useful for quicker and simpler things, how you can separate everything out easily and i'll probably give it a shot, especially with how i love to use figura mod and that cant be exported as a 3d player
I think the ability to export the sky as transparent would be nice, it would work better for transparent blocks like stained glass where a chromakey wouldn't work
Not gonna lie... your video shows the potential of this mod much more than in Mogswamp's video. I really hope it will get more views because this is soooo well done! Like you did all those short but amazing clips that show what it is capable of. I installed it like a week ago and didn't touch it since then. But I really should mess around some time... although I'm quite the noob in film making and video editing 😅
i saw some stuff about replaymod being put into blender, but i thought it was just recreating the blocks, i didn't know the camera could go over too. i hope that comes over to flashback too but i wouldn't hold my breath until that happens ;)
Bro Dimm at like 9:00 or so you say if it would be possible to change the background after filming. Well it possible with two simple step 1) press "t" 2) /gamemode creative. Yea that it, also if you wanna go back you need to go back in survival 😮
You actually can change the blocks in the replay! its just a little... scuffed if u start at the very beginning of the timeline, u can do f3 f4 and go into creative mode (or any gamemode) and change stuff then render it from there. just dont go backwards in the timeline or reload the replay cus it deletes it. (also go into spectator mode to get back to the gui)
Oh, I was a bit confused before because IIRC dime called you "he" in one of her edits, but the intro clears everything up lol (plus now your twitter has your pronouns) I'll make sure to use she or they if I ever like talk about your channel to a friend in the future :)

i tried it just now and the issue was that I was on apple prores and not quicktime, because prores was the default option. whelp

BBS mod is a great alternative for if you're not on those versions or want a mod thats more complex and works on fabric and forge.

You can actually build in a flashback recording by holding F3+F4 to change into creative, and then go to spectator once ur done
But iirc, it doesn’t save when you go back to the recording (unsure about that)
