Fabulous scene from beloved Season 2, which had so much potential. Both actors perfectly cast, interesting dialogues. And breaking ground with the theme of homosexuality in prime-time US television in 1981.

Except the gay subject matter was often about Blake's negative reaction. It got so bad that gay groups began writing the network ready to begin a boycott. They would get hold of advance shooting scripts where truly vile, homophobic dialogue would be challenged. TV Guide ran a story about it "How the Gay Lobby Changed Television."

This is what the new Dynasty never realized. The cast needs a major, central villain...Aaron Spelling did it with Alexis, and years later, when he did Melrose Place he did it again by bringing on Heather Locklear as Amanda...as he said it, "A cat among the pigeons." The Alexis on the current Dynasty isn't inspiring or interesting, and her air time is limited. Pity.

Blake used violence against Ted Dinard and caused his death, whether it was legally manslaughter or morally murder. Alexis fired a gun whilst Krystle was horseriding and caused her to miscarry. They are both villains really, though I would agree with another comment in this section that Alexis' relationship with Blake is a complex one.

Alexis in season 2 is such a threat. When she didn't have as many resources, Alexis could take agency in the most desperate of ways that left you in awe, but made you live in fear of the character. I wish Season 3 had given her a little more time to be this character before she became Blake's business opponent.
