This scene still gives me goosebumps, even after all these years. There was so much build-up in the previous episodes before that, and you can cut the tension in the beginning with a knife. Most people consider soap operas a guilty pleasure, but if it's done right, it can be a piece of art. Wonderful dialogue! Wonderful actresses! Wonderful score! Wonderful setting! Wonderful clothes! They just don't do television like this anymore.

And took a few ass whippings in the process. Krystle might have let Alexis slide a time or two, but she had her own little way of letting her know she was not to be messed with.
This is just really subtle. Lots of acting with the eyes, brows and the tilt of their heads. So much is left unsaid which makes it so much more interesting. Now it's all screaming, pointed fingers and squawking dialogue about "disrespect".
It's a chicken and egg thing today, TV is louder and more aggressive because it mirrors real life, but at the same time real life is influenced by vapid reality shows with a 5-second attention span.
It's interesting how much simpler the wardrobe was on both Krystle and Alexis in this season. Then in the subsequent seasons both ladies got more elaborate and expensive looking.
Straight up - in '86, as a 12 year old Dynasty fan, I took a magazine pic of Krystle to the hairdressers and asked the stylist to make my hair look just like hers!! She did a damned good job I have to say, and I was so thrilled......you know........ back then.... :O)
Krystle is so underrated. People who never really WATCHED Dynasty try and make out Krystle was weak and insipid but if you actually study the episodes, you can see her inner strength and inherent class dealing with Alexis' rather obvious calculations. And whenever Alexis crossed the line (such as causing her to miscarry a baby), Krystle was down to earth enough to fight her own battles and take it to the floor. And by the way, every fight that Alexis had with Krystle, she lost. Once Alexis' cousin Sable Colby arrived in Season 9, it's important to note that Sable, despite having the same hard edge as Alexis, respected and admired Krystle for her qualities.
The Wakayama Boy I didn't get strength from Krystle in this scene. I got an obviously insecure woman trying to mark her territory. Now I usually won't side with Alexis, but in this case she was at least trying to be civil. All she actually wanted was some help from the staff. And when she asked she was still being civil. Its only when Krystle had the nerve to say "With all my husbands been through" is when Alexis stopped being nice, and said the actual truth. Krystle is unnecessarily aggressive here. Alexis knows Blake and what he's capable of. Krystle might've taken heed.
Achillie, Messylin can do a little character analysis. I'm sure Messylin knows "Dynasty" was a classic tv show, not a documentary!! Incidentally, Linda Evans said that when Krystle was first being mistreated by the servants, a woman came up to her and told her she needs to keep the staff in line!!
Alexis was extremley rude in this scene. At 1 minute 6 secs Alexis says "I'm glad to see you haven't changed anything too much" That line had me falling over laughing cus it's outright rude. The nerve. Read the sub-text that line says so many things. Clearly indicating to Krystle that Alexis still thinks she's in charge and then she goes onto say "It feels just like home" Another subliminal insult. The final insult was more blatant when she said "Afterall, we both share the same title" followed by the most sickly grins I've ever seen,. Alexis is slithery and sly but Krystle had her number. I think Krystle showed quiet, sophisticated but determined qualities in rightfully dispatching of Alexis with her sly undertones.
This is, without a doubt, one of the BEST acted scenes in the show. The timing, how Alexis looks around while walking from the kitchen to the living room, how Krystle tells her to find her own way out the house, everything Fantastic actresses.
I liked the way that Krystle with that beautiful blonde hair was dressed totally in white whereas Alexis having black hair was dressed in dark clothes. It was like a confrontation between an angel and the devil - of good versus evil.
These two!!! Krystle and Alexis at this stage of Dynasty (season 2) were so well written and the verbal gymnastics is beyond...Alexis is doing her "to the manor born" routine and Krystle is not having any of it. The dismissal at the end is amazing!

As good an actor as Joan was, the fan following was all about Linda Evans. Everyone loved Krystle and the show folded right after she decided to quit. Joan just couldn't carry the show alone.
+dee Bap The show was terminal long before Linda quit. Linda and John hardly made the show a hit in season one without Joan. Joan made the show. Anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves.
+dee Bap you absolutely wrong. joan made that shoe and the stars will tell you that. that is why she was added because the ratings were not that good and they wanted to spice up the show
dee Bap that is not the reason why. ABC canceled the show because it became to expensive to produce. ABC network was sold to another company and they wanted to cut cost at the network. It wad a business decision nothing to do with linda.

One party was just like being "ON DYNASTY". John Forsythe LITERALLY bumped into me and nearly crushed my left cheekbone! I was in agony and he put both hands on my arms asking : WHERE's my wife? I had no idea. I wanted to say well if you asked : WHERE's ALEXIS that would have ended differently. AH>>>>>> the 80s. I mean the era. not someone's age. My favorite ERA was the LATE 70s: DANCING THE NIGHT AWAY at STuDIO 54. HELLO LIZA! .... and everyone beautiful. such fun!
+dee Bap you absolutely wrong. joan made that shoe and the stars will tell you that. that is why she was added because the ratings were not that good and they wanted to spice up the show
Is this why the show was cancelled right after Linda left? Okay!
dee Bap that is not the reason why. ABC canceled the show because it became to expensive to produce. ABC network was sold to another company and they wanted to cut cost at the network. It wad a business decision nothing to do with linda.
The script was just 10 out of 10 🥰
Now this is a true classic.
I might feel intimidated if I were confronted by a 6 foot tall blond dressed head to toe in white, Alexis is up for the challenge!
Joan was amazing in this role, Dynasty series 2 was the best
Wow, truly Alexis! 😊 I love you Joan Collins, you're the one!!! 😍
Alexis and Krystle are my faves when it come on to fights
This show was my favorite 1980s the clothes the fighting John and Krystles love and Joan Collins Diahann Carroll wowza amazing actors Heather Locklear. So pretty
Elegantly dismissed! LOVED these two!!
They will never match the new Dynasty with this. This she was epic!!
motives?
The split second delivery was priceless on Joan's part...set the tone for the future.
😂😂😂"Would you come with me?" Translated aka "Bring yo ass." 😂😂😂
I really like Krystle she was the peace maker while Alexis was Alexis.
Used to love this show!!
Alexis was the queen of wit and sarcasm. Notable Gemini traits. There must be truth in astrology!
There is.
Morons that still believe in astrology. Their might be some traits that people of certain signs share but at the end of the day people are all different.
@Anastasia Pavlova ok and so what ?
So true. She's a Year of the Rooster also which shows in her blazing work ethic and stylish dress sense.
The begining of the best 80s drama between women who would never agree on anything except to wreck each other lives.
I hope the new show-runners for Dynasty 2.0 are watching this. Brilliant tension created in this scene.
The reviews are already shit. Unfortunately I would not get your hopes up.
Allen Quinn plus there's no Alexis
Brandon Hopkins she's coming. They just announced that Nicolette Sheridan will be playing alexis 😄
Anthony Fay They should have casted Eva Longoria.
Kadia M I can totally see that 😍 but I feel Eva is better for a more comedic role where as Nicolette can play the more soap opera drama that the show requires.
That two piece white suit on Linda is everything ❤
I always found Linda Evans on Dynasty being a tough and kind of a butch character, because of Linda's deep and husky voice.
@Patricia McCoy Teenager to middle aged...big difference!
@@NicoleM2108 Middle aged? Krystle was mid-30s. Hardly middle aged?
@@radrobd123 She was born in 1942. Dynasty ran from '81 to '89. So, she was 39-47 during the show (I know...she looks great though!) lol
@@NicoleM2108 I was talking about the character of Krystle, not the actress. Krystle was much younger, as was Blake. John Forsythe was ten years older than the age Blake was supposed to be. And Linda was a few years older than Krystle
@@radrobd123 Ahh. I thought you were in the conversation above! Got it! She still looks good though! :)
