Her parents immigrated to Sweden first, from Czechoslovakia, when she was 6, I think, leaving her behind, because the escape from the communist camp with heavily patrolled and barb wired border was dangerous, and she then joined them with her grandmother few years later when she was about 10, still in Sweden, from where they continued to America later on. At least I think that's how she got into the free world when she was little. Her escape with her nana was also very dramatic, because the communist were very obstructive and didn't want the family to reunite in Sweden, they wanted to use 6 y.o. Paulina as a collateral and a extortion tool for her parents to return to the commie Eastern Europe! God, those were really horrendously hard times for the people there! Disgusting regime! Then the bomb shell, she put it into the marriage. Geez, l wished to God that l could have met her back then and direct her in a healthier way. That shot of her with her 2 sons at Ric's speech at the rock n roll hall of fame shows how much she really cared about him.
