She is quite possibly the smartest super model. At 21 she was listed among the 100 "smartest americans"...granted that's subjective, but nevertheless quite impressive to even be considered. Especially for a model. She had a bad reputation back then for "being difficult", but I think it's coz most people expected her to be just another vacuous pretty model.
