New Boroscope! Checking out my Viking 130 Cylinders.

  • After 60 hrs of engine flying time, thought I would do a check of my cylinders and valves. I bought this boroscope to play around with. What do you think about the cylinders and valves? leave your comments below.

    Love that borescope. I need one badly with about 20 ICE;s to maintain on this little farm. Cylinder 3 was the only one that as you said had some light scuff on the walls. Some carbon deposits falling from the valve area could have caused it. A compression check on 3 and if you have no smoke and minimal blowby you should be fine assuming the engine runs well.

    The cylinder walls still have the honing cross hatch patterns….your piston rings may not even be broken in yet…

    Very impressive how clear the videos are.
    I have no expertise in these matters but have to say I’m sure an expert would have no trouble telling you if you’re good or not internally from those pictures.
