    Two things come to mind 🤓 1st, it will be difficult to top off , without spilling . 2nd , the effort to flip the can 180 degrees, will eventually create more back issues, as well as the likelyhood of messing up and dropping the full jug on the wing. 😮 After adding 5625 gallons so far to my cruzer ( that is 33,750# or 16.875 tons) I think I can safely comment it is better , and safer to use a 5 gallon "SureCan" With a 2 inch foam wing pad. The sure can you can rest on the pad, put nozzle in tank, squeeze as much full in as you need to top off. Or if there is plenty of room, just put a clamp on handle and relax while it empties.

    • @mhilderbrand7693
      @mhilderbrand7693 3 месяца назад

      Actually, when the fuel reach’s full in the plane, the container stops filling. I thought it might be an issue as well. So far, I tip the tank the first 90 degrees and it rest on its side. I just use a soft drawer liner doubled up, but I like your foam idea better. The next 90 degrees I am lifting it up. Already have a fractured vertebra from my younger days… so I am very careful with my back 😀. It doesn’t pour out until the neck (by the filler) is depressed. The weight of the container depresses the neck naturally once in the port. So I am just there for moral support while it’s filling. It fills really fast, too. With that being said.. I am not sure I will ever fill my Cruzer up as much as you have, for the rest of my life 😂

    Very cool! Great color too. Only thought is that you’d want to do the panels from back to front so if there’s any overlap the air can’t grab it and rip it up.

    • @mhilderbrand7693
      @mhilderbrand7693 3 месяца назад

      Yes, this is true. However, there is a lip on the leading edge skin which should mostly shield any air from grabbing the aft panel. The reason I did not do this, is because I don’t plan to wrap much of the aft wing. It will be polished with random vinyl splatter designs. Great comment!

    Love that borescope. I need one badly with about 20 ICE;s to maintain on this little farm. Cylinder 3 was the only one that as you said had some light scuff on the walls. Some carbon deposits falling from the valve area could have caused it. A compression check on 3 and if you have no smoke and minimal blowby you should be fine assuming the engine runs well.

    For comparison. I took a square foot of aluminum sheet, prepped it and weighed it. 7.2 oz. Then I had it painted with 2 coats of PPG primer and 2 coats of PPG single stage epoxy paint and it now weighed 7.5 oz. So "about" .3 oz/sq.ft. for paint.

  • @JoseRamos-su3ep
    @JoseRamos-su3ep 5 месяцев назад

    A quick calculation for the premium vivid works out to .9_oz/_ft^2. The wing area of the Cruzer is 147_Ft^2, results in 8.27_lbs for the wing area, (basically as viewed from the top) so 16.5_lbs for both top and bottom….

    • @jefish
      @jefish 5 месяцев назад

      Wonder if that would work out to about 30lbs total for the whole plane, after subtracting all the window and door areas. I'd love to see someone paint a 1sqft panel of aluminum, weigh it against a wrapped 1sqft panel.
