Prince Mush strikes me as a very naive person, so Grubba likely just tricked him into getting into the machine of his own volition and drained him before he could retaliate.

@@theking8347 yeah she's actually pretty damn good in this fight relatively speaking of course it doesn't really matter if you do the super guards that it wants you to do, as it removes all of his defense after landing one
Good lord this fight is so good it made me wanna cry. Like 3D Culex, it reads you like an open book and subverts optimal strats to really keep you on your toes, while every other boss just stands there and helplessly take the harshest beating you could give. Prince Mush single-handedly elevated my overall enjoyment on TTYD, and this is coming from someone who likes Paper Mario 64 more.
I vaguely remember as a kid the original game talking up Prince Mush, him being the previous champion and all, and being disappointed you couldn’t actually battle him. It’s nice to know this remake is fulfilling a childhood dream of mine. This is absolutely nuts! 5:40 my freaking jaw dropped to the floor when I first saw that, then I saw 6:23, and Jesus, Joseph, and Mary... I’m at a loss for words.
ain't no way Prince Mush legit got da Mario 64 Romhack(DE/Master Quest) Super Saiyan 3 Master 4 5x combo and does 21 damage prob due to the Fiery spirit within him flaring up 🤔 he even got Pm64 Master Quest/DSE Lee Clones at 6:30 even more surprisingly via 6:23 he does a bit over 100 damage with the 5 flying rider kicks. this makes him the most damaging enemy in the entire paper mario series, next to Whacka absolute Cinema 🤲
I think his full 100-damage combo actually technically makes him even more powerful than even Master 4. I can't think of a Master Quest enemy that can do more damage on 1 turn.
I remembered that this guy existed yesterday, and that we never fought him in the original game. And once I remembered, I had a gut feeling he’d be exactly like The Master from the N64 Paper Mario. Oh, how little did I realize how RIGHT I was.
Funny enough, I had a chocolate cake in my inventory for this fight and actually tried that to see if he'd comment or react to it. I was sadly disappointed.
He’s not an end of game boss. You can fight him at any point after you take care of a trouble for Jolene and wait for messages from both her and Prince Mush, and then you can come back to the Glitz Pit anytime to challenge him. You probably should complete your comeback in the Glitz Pit before doing so, just to get it out of the way.
@@Cristian-jb1rs still the combo gets so weak if you increase your defense, with defense plus badges i think it's better to take 5, 4, 3 damage (Master combo) instead of 21, 20, 19, 18 (Mush combo) Also if you equip zaptap instead of defense plus you get 7 damage instead of 24
This has to be one of the hardest boss fights I’ve done in this game. He’s ridiculously strong, and can only be defeated using superguards. Also, he has an attack in his third stance that deals over 100 damage in one turn. That’s crazy. I managed to beat him, somehow, but wow, talk about insane.
Prince Mush is a mix of The Master from Paper Mario 64 and Kazuma Kiryu from Yakuza. He changes stances like Kiryu and punches like The Master. Loved this secret boss that they added ✊🏿

I remember being extremely disappointed in the original, back when Rock Hawk was all like "oh yeah, i'm gonna train SUPER hard for your return Gonzales!" but he's gained absolutely no strength at all since your last match and you just stomp him even harder
Wow! Prince Mush really can kick butt and I friggin' love it. Seriously, we need more Toad characters, like him and Toad from the Mario movie. Toads have always been a run-of-the-mill supporting characters in Mario, and I want some more to take spotlight in character and story.
You gotta admit though, if Mario didn't pack literal self revives he would be cooked too. Even outside of that, bro put up one hell of a fight, gotta give him props for giving someone like Mario an actual challenge
@@omegamyee5592and remember as Goombella states he hasn’t fought in a long time meaning he’s probably rusty so that means that he was even stronger when became champion
For the last 20 years I always wondered what it would’ve been like to fight Prince Mush & I’m glad I lived long enough to see it. Definitely a worthy fight for the first champion of the Glitz Pit.
This is a fight that always felt like it was meant to be in the original game, glad they finally gave us the chance to fight him (not to mention he lives up to the hype of being the first Glitz Pit Champion)!
Yeah... About that... Mush is immune to all elementals. (at least as far as I could tell, explosion was the only attack type I found that could even damage him, forget statuses none of them worked for me.)
Yeah the devs decided to just hard counter any shenanigans like that by just making Prince Mush immune to ALL ELEMENTS so you can’t zap trap or anything except non elemental attacks pretty much fully getting rid of some partners as options for the fight as well
Zap Tap is a thing, but Prince Mush is completely immune to it. He seems immune to just about all elementals, so he can’t be burned, frozen, or hit by explosions, for instance.
While I don't know for this battle, the Battle Master music just doesn't change, so i'm guessing it's the same here. Or it plays the standard event battle music.
I felt legitimately cheated in the original game without this guy being an optional boss. Jolene sends the email that he's going to be fighting again, only for that to never happen. You just don't do that. I'm sorry. So glad to see that fixed.
I saw the notice to fight this guy and though "oh, OK, probably pretty decent" and then I saw the tattle log and went "oh CRUD I am not prepared for this" I was right. You live or die on Superguard mastery which I have become pretty sloppy in my much older age. He kicked my butt for the first time in 15 years. And that was the time I could actually pull off Peril Strats well.
I remember going straight to Mush after beating the Pit of 100 Trials the first time. My strategy goes like this: I have Mario charge up for like, 5-10 turns, playing on the defensive all the while. Then I let Mario rip with Power Bounce. It worked on Bonetail, so this shouldn't be too different, I thought. Then I witnessed Mush has a defense of 6, and him brutalizing Goombella after she tattled him, which was certainly one hell of an opening. So I immediately put Flurrie on dodge buff duty. I let the party attack Mush to figure out his movements. When the time is right, I let Jumpman do what he does best... but I missed an input on the fifth jump, somehow leaving Mush with exactly 1 HP. And when he prepared to kick Mario in the face, I managed to land the superguard, while trying to figure out when was the exact frame I needed to hit B. I think I managed to beat Mush in the coolest way possible on accident.
Just a reminder that Toad has a higher power stat than Mario in Super Mario Bros 2. With the right training and some courage, any Toad could be like Mush.
Remember, Prince Mush was really rusty in this fight, and he was still giving Mario a hard time, even with his allies by his side. That's actually impressive when you think about it.
It’s even crazier when you realize that grubba use this machine to drain prints, mushes energy meaning that not only was he rusty. He was also weakened.
@jasondobbins9735 so he was both rusty and weakened in this fight, and he's still a powerhouse?! Just imagine him at what he was like in his prime and in a healthy state. Scary stuff
I appreciate Prince Mush’s fight a lot and can settle for the bonus championship right here. However, I would still love it if we could have Luigi be a post game opponent in this ring, and as the toughest boss battle in the game bar none! Just as Mario has his swappable companions, Luigi shall also have his own adventure partners (regardless how they feel about him lol) fight alongside him as well. And whereas Mario uses hammers, I want to see Luigi throwing boomerangs. Just a few pipe dreams…
It's amazing how you do all those perfect superguards in the beginning. When I went up against Prince Mush, I needed a *WHOLE* lot of Life Mushrooms because Mush's Super Attack kept knocking me out. It took me three tries and the Ruby Crystal Star to finally defeat Mush.
Friendly advice, you ought to make your title something that isn't a huge spoiler for people who haven't gotten to play the game yet. I just opened RUclips and this was the 1st thing that popped up. Now I've been spoiled for something that I'd have liked to have been surprised at.
That's all on you. You should already know better by now that you WILL get spoiled on any game that recently came out (hell even before it comes out thanks to leaks) when going on ANY social media.
@@AdaTheWatcherHe does the one thing that no other character in this game does: dodge. If no one in the game, not even Mario can dodge, then I consider dodging to be cheating.
I’ve seen WAY more BS fights than that one tbh. Keep an eye on his stance. If he’s jumping, jumps can hit him. If he’s shuffling, hammers can hurt him.
Prince mush? I also beat on my first go, but again, I came PREPARED for the worst, much like with Whacka, I had all hp plus badges i could find on, fp plus badges, power plus badges, all or nothing, jumpman, defense plus badges, damage dodge, lucky day, so that i could do 16 damage with a perfect spring jump each turn, and when he starts becoming impossible to hurt, you *HAVE* to superguard or die trying, I thankfully managed to do it, despite BARELY superguarding the whole game, although Mush's fast attacks kinda made it easier for me, and i knocked his guard off and finished him off. He HONESTLY might be harder than Whacka imo, solely because he can just IGNORE damage towards the end and dish out HELLISH damage if you don’t guard well.

The scary part is that you _cannot_ cheese this fight with stuff like Boo Capes and Repel Flags, because you can ONLY drop his stance with Superguard once he gets low health. Even Life Shrooms only do so much, because they'll activate if your partner dies, too, meaning you'll burn through them.
If Peach's guards were all like this, she would never get kidnapped.
Well, not exactly. Remember Prince Mush fights fair, and Bowser NEVER fights fair, and when you have numbers, you really think they would be able to stop wave after wave after wave after wave of koopa troopas, goombas, ninjis, and magikoopas?

Yesterday I though that being fulminated on three turns would make It a lame superboss fight for how easy would be.
But this guy ain't fucking around.
I think his full 100-damage combo actually technically makes him even more powerful than even Master 4. I can't think of a Master Quest enemy that can do more damage on 1 turn.

And once I remembered, I had a gut feeling he’d be exactly like The Master from the N64 Paper Mario.

Damn. This game remastered the hell outta things and it's great with many iconic remade and memories. Great fight!

There are lots of Mario games (or at least Paper) that portray Toads in a weaker light. And then you have this unit!
20 something years later, we may have wondered how Prince mush fought-
all bosses combined could not match his caliber, who knew..
This is a fight that always felt like it was meant to be in the original game, glad they finally gave us the chance to fight him (not to mention he lives up to the hype of being the first Glitz Pit Champion)!
I want to see the fight between the Paper Mario Grand Master and Prince Mush. That will be a fight to remember.
I don’t think the Grand Master can super block so I think Prince Mush just wins because of his combo move that does 110 damage total
There's a good reason Rock hawk could never beat Prince Mush and take the title before Grubba poisoned him and made him vanish
Hang on, is Zap Tap not a thing in TTYD? I remember the Master being entirely stonewalled by it in the first game.
Prince Mush is immune to Zap Tap
Yeah... About that... Mush is immune to all elementals. (at least as far as I could tell, explosion was the only attack type I found that could even damage him, forget statuses none of them worked for me.)
Yeah the devs decided to just hard counter any shenanigans like that by just making Prince Mush immune to ALL ELEMENTS so you can’t zap trap or anything except non elemental attacks pretty much fully getting rid of some partners as options for the fight as well
There is, it just doesn't work against Prince Mush.
Zap Tap is a thing, but Prince Mush is completely immune to it. He seems immune to just about all elementals, so he can’t be burned, frozen, or hit by explosions, for instance.
So how does the music sound with the GameCube badge on? Since the fight seems to have a new music track.
While I don't know for this battle, the Battle Master music just doesn't change, so i'm guessing it's the same here.
Or it plays the standard event battle music.
@@PipesTheVlob This unique theme sounds way better than the event battle music, but both are good.
I felt legitimately cheated in the original game without this guy being an optional boss. Jolene sends the email that he's going to be fighting again, only for that to never happen.
You just don't do that. I'm sorry. So glad to see that fixed.
My boi Koops is such a clutch
Failboat: GRANDMA DEFINE THAT ENEMY!
Grandma: er um I think this is God 1
"Oh, dear, I believe this is a _Prime Soul."_
I think this is the first time we've ever fight a toad this strong
Did zaptap stops his combos like the master from paper mario 64?
No. He's also immune to, oh I don't know, nearly everything and every status effect.
No
No because he’s just immune to all elements. The devs really wanted to make sure you don’t shenanigans him like that
No, because he’s immune to all elemental attacks and status effects.
Scary stuff

They actually ADDED this fight? It was cut from the original game. Sweet.
I’m so glad they gave Prince Mush the justice he deserved by finally giving us a chance to fight him.
