For real, though, a fight against Prince Mush was something that always felt missing from the original Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (doubly so in that Prince Mush seemingly disappears from the game after chapter 3, with only vague allusions that he's training for a comeback afterward). It's fantastic that not only does the remake rectify this by having him as a bonus boss, but also live up to his reputation as the original Glitz Pit champion! His battle theme is appropriately epic, like if it weren't for the typical Paper Mario synths you hear throughout the game, you'd almost mistake this theme for coming from a completely different game. Props to you, Jonny, for doing this theme justice, and so soon after the remake's release, too!

I was one of those fans back then who speculated Prince Mush's fighting moveset back when Paper Mario TTYD was originally released (and my cousin and I played through it). Prince Mush stands there thinking a little too much, but otherwise, I guessed a lot of his moveset right, especially the extreme and constant dodging skills and the fact he has to throw himself into opponents.
Honestly gotta be glad it happened now and not before if it happened before it would probably be as easy as most of the fights in the game but now it's the hardest one

The key to playing TTYD is having fun, especially with Superguards. You see that Mush guy, he has a second phase where he starts blocking all damage and charging at Mario with dive kicks that will take a boatload of HP per hit. You gotta figure out when that 2-Frame Window comes and Superguard to knock him off his balance, if you can't Superguard, Mario gets obliterated, *you're gonna have a bad time*

It reminds me of Mushroom Gorge from Mario Kart Wii for some reason? But I went to re-listen to the track and I don't know if they're really that similar. Am I the only one with that feeling? Yeah I haven't fought him yet, but before I cleared the game I don't even have to try, I saw a video. Man this guy is something different, I tried once to come up with a fitting boss for the arena and even my idea was weaker because I thought it would be to crazy. Prince Mush or as I know him "Dark Toadster" (german name) shows good that Toads aren't necessarily helpless, when they want they can even overcome Mario.
there goes my crazy idea of "I just need one revive shroom." bro could beat every character from bug fables and most other paper mario bosses AT ONCE. (you really need to tackle the skydragon battle theme from Puzzles and dragons Z sometime.)
This fight was a lesson in Perseverance for me, since I did it directly after chapter 4 with only 10 HP on Mario (I was doing a Danger Mario run my first playthrough) and, *oh man*, I was not prepared. This fight took me so many attempts and I was forced in real time to get good at the Super Guard or I would have just kept dying. Took me 8 attempts, but the 8th one was the lucky one because I only missed the Super Guard once and didn't even need to use a Life Shroom that time! Needless to say, that last attempt left me feeling pretty powerful!

Kind of understandable that his new theme is awesome and anticipated. WE also have other Mario game epic themes to be anticipated from long, long ago, even if people barely remember it, such as both Mario and Luigi Paper Jam's boss battle theme "Big Bang!" and FINAL BOSS theme, Shiny RoboBowser/"The Final Battle"

Yeah I haven't fought him yet, but before I cleared the game I don't even have to try, I saw a video. Man this guy is something different, I tried once to come up with a fitting boss for the arena and even my idea was weaker because I thought it would be to crazy. Prince Mush or as I know him "Dark Toadster" (german name) shows good that Toads aren't necessarily helpless, when they want they can even overcome Mario.
Good timing, we put up an episode of our TTYD playthrough just now where we fight Prince Mush! A happy coincidence lol

there goes my crazy idea of "I just need one revive shroom." bro could beat every character from bug fables and most other paper mario bosses AT ONCE. (you really need to tackle the skydragon battle theme from Puzzles and dragons Z sometime.)

Hhhhngh the sudden shift to quiet in the middle at the loop was so sexy.
This fight was a lesson in Perseverance for me, since I did it directly after chapter 4 with only 10 HP on Mario (I was doing a Danger Mario run my first playthrough) and, *oh man*, I was not prepared. This fight took me so many attempts and I was forced in real time to get good at the Super Guard or I would have just kept dying. Took me 8 attempts, but the 8th one was the lucky one because I only missed the Super Guard once and didn't even need to use a Life Shroom that time!
Needless to say, that last attempt left me feeling pretty powerful!
