So, I actually had this song planned before the remake, but had to put it off for a little bit to get to those medley songs.
Which turned out to be a good thing, because the remake version of this song BANGS. Thus, this arrangement is mostly based on the new version from TTYD remake, but I still included some elements from the original.

They switched out Cortez's saying "amigo" for different Spanish phrases, which was a great little change.

It's awesome you did the victory outro at the end. It's really cool they have those, ever since Origami King.
Ever since Yoshito Sekigawa (formerly Hirano) returned to Paper Mario, he's been cooking. He also did a great job playing the guitar in this remake.
After hearing the new version in the TTYD remake I was blown away that it just turned into a Doom song lol. And after hearing it, I was hoping you'd do a remix of it at somepoint, but I wasn't expecting it this soon! Anyways, banger as always Jonny!!

It's wild just how amazing the TTYD remake music was, and yet you still somehow made it even cooler?!? And come on, those distorted vocals from the Origami King Legionary boss fight tracks, pure perfection
I love that you included some of the xylophone-sounding stuff from the original battle theme, as cool as the remake’s battle theme was, I was disappointed that this aspect of Cortez’s theme was downplayed.
Thank you, Jonny, for informing me that the new part of the remake Cortez theme I love so much is a kalimba. Thank you, again, for beefing up that kalimba part so much. And thank you, one more time, for letting Bowser perform it so enthusiastically.

I just finished the Cortez fight in TTYD and you nailed everything about his boss theme from the beat drops to the suspenseful tone of the fight. Amazing work!
Thanks to the remake this is one of my favorite songs in TTYD now, they did the song SO much justice. Excellent cover, I love how you did the build up to the climax in an even more fitting way to the pirate theme

I love these tracks that crank up the intensity by slowing down, instead of trying to blind you with a blistering pace
When I first heard the music for this in the remake, I knew there just HAD to be a GaMetal mix coming up for it.
The gameplay footage showcases a move I didn't even know Cortez had. Usually, the people I know just power through this boss in one turn per phase, so I had no idea there was a desperation move hiding in the code for the third one. He definitely needed more health.

It’s absurd that not only did the original game do a legendary job with its tracks, but the remake doubled down with just as many bangers. Cortez has always been one of my favorites. Definitely going on my car playlist.

It's been a while since the last TTYD remix, I always thought this is cool boss fight and apparently the Switch version sounds heavier which explains why it got a GaMetal remix!

You know, I was just thinking "I wonder when GaMetal will remix the Cortez Theme" since I was kinda mixed on the remake's take on it and lo and behold this pops up in my feed. Oddly it almost feel like this is trying to be it's own thing rather then just remix the theme and I dig it. Great work as always!

When I saw the original theme it was pretty normal but not a banger but the remake made it an absolute banger and so does this remix keep it up!

@@DeviDoesNothing I pray they'll be alright. But we all have our own mental health issues. We just struggle with them differently. Even if he isn't heard from again, I still pray for him since I hope with confidence that I'll see him in heaven one day. So we can enjoy each other once again.

Never played the Paper Mario series, but I will eventually. I would also like to request 'Scrap and build ourselves' from Eternal Sonata, composed by Motoi Sakuraba and inspired by Chopin's 'Revolutionary' and 'Winter' etudes, this composition is pretty badass, and I know Jonny will enjoy playing it because of his fondness of power metal and him liking Symphony X, which as we all know, takes a lot of inspiration from classical music. Thus if I get it I will have a triforce of 3 great musicians into one single song. This is request 114+ and I shall request it everywhere. Be it on this channel or the acoustics one, be it on a community post or a video. I shall not give up.
