    I built last month a 775 PC for my neighbour's daughter with some old hardware I had lying around. It has a Q9550 with 8 gigs of RAM, a GTX 770 2 GB a 128 GB SSD for the system and a 500 GB SSD for files.
    I installed Linux Mint on it and it runs very smooth. She's playing DOTA 2 and some other esports games.

    Just found my old PC,.but kind of complicated whether have to upgrade it or not..i mean, i found LGA 775 in marketplace for cheap (like $40 full set) ,but if i am unlucky i have to spend $90 for new monitor (not to mention the cost of electricity.. 😅😅)

    I found recently a motherboard,cpu and ram on the street here in germany i was shocked wehn i aded some ram and cheap ssd it ran youtue on 720p with integraed gpu and it had some dual core on 1.8ghz.Socket 775 is stil ok for basic stuff even today

    Last year I built an lga 775 pc build which contained: Core 2 duo e8400, 4gb ram ddr2 1066mhz, gtx 550 ti and a 620gb hard drive. First time I installed windows 7 then I upgraded it to windows 10, it ran fine the operating system but in many games I'm playing didn't run well on it, so I upgraded to core 2 quad q9450 overclocked to 3.48ghz, still 4gb ddr2 1066mhz, a 2Tb hard drive (last month I bought an ssd but it died last week) and GTX 1050, now it's running extremely good on games, except the 4gb ram...

      Nice. That is the only issue with the platform that eventually you reach the limit of what it can do and how it performs

    LGA 775 motherboard cheapest at only SGD 89.I playing latest online games like Dota 2 & csgo on 1080p using Intel Pentium e6600 over clock to 3.47ghz,8gb ddr3 1200mhz, GTX 660 2gb of ddr5. Building a LGA 775 is worth it if you have older software like window 7 64bit and it can run perfectly. You got nothing to lose because microsoft window 7 ended support & LGA 775 motherboard limited stock in Singapore shop.

    • @JxTechy

      yes I am but with a stock cooler, and the reliability of the tape mod, I thought it was best to leave it stock as most people won't be comfortable with the tape mod.

    Hello I have this same socket and I was wondering If I can put an "Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650", is that possible? or depends on the motherboard? At the moment I have a "DG33M03", Its a 15 year motherboard lol. If not, then what could be the best processor for it?

    • @JxTechy
      @JxTechy  11 месяцев назад

      It depends on the motherboard. I would try googling the model of your motherboard and then cpu compatibility after it. See what I returns. It’s hard to know with the generation of Intel. Even with mine it was pretty difficult to find out what did and didn’t work. Sometimes they even require a BIOS update. Good look in your search

    Q8400 is my favourite for the LGA 775 socket

  • @AdityaMishra-mu1cc
    @AdityaMishra-mu1cc 3 года назад +1

    you should have you used q9400 as its 45nm and q6600 is 65nm and its faster than q6600 and you should have used gt730 or 1030 2gb gddr5 gpu because it won't get bottlenecked by q9400 and coz of one more gb vram you won't face texture isn't loading problem this combo is still capable of running gta v at 1080p low presets with 40fps and good textures

    • @JxTechy
      @JxTechy  3 года назад +1

      The Q9400 is very expensive and can be rare in some countries so its not really an option for people thinking about building a socket 775 system on a budget. The GT 730 performs worse than the HD 7770 I used in the video. The GT 1030 would perform better but it also costs a lot more than the HD 7770. So for people on a budget, which are the majority of people, they won't buy a q9400 or a gt 1030. If you have unlimited money, sure go for those upgrades but at that point you may as well build a socket 1155 system or better.

    • @AdityaMishra-mu1cc
      @AdityaMishra-mu1cc 3 года назад

      @@JxTechy right here in the india q9400 is easily available at cheap so i thought it would be cheap at other countries also but yup 1030 cost more than hd7770 so its not a good option for low budget gamers but still q6600 isn't that good even if u compare it with q8400 at least go for q8400 as its also a 45nm processor and slightly better than q6600 and if you find 1030 in used market sure you should go for that as it will perform better than hd 7770 and won't get bottlenecked much by the proccessor i would highly recommend for low budget pc builders or gamer to search components on used market it would be bang for your buck

    • @JxTechy
      @JxTechy  3 года назад

      @@AdityaMishra-mu1cc even q8400 is expensive and rare in some countries. I try to make my videos for the budget gamer no matter what country they are in. Plus if you are building a socket 775 system you have next to no budget, as socket 1155 is not much more and in some cases the same as a socket 775 system in terms of price.

    Should you build a socket 775 system?
    Not the way you did.
    No, mixing the ram is not okay. It will lead to poor performance. That North bridge would be screaming.
    The CPU could have been a bit better for the price today. Cache makes a difference.
    Motherboard is weak AF and could have done better with a DD3 board.
    That drive? Weak. We were still building with SSDs with late 775 builds so could have easily popped one of those in there (would help texture loading).

    • @JxTechy
      @JxTechy  Год назад

      Sort of sick of saying it but... This video was made nearly 3 YEARS AGO! This was during COVID times where prices where all over the place and parts (and yes even socket 775 stuff) was rare to find for sale as where many parts. As people here in the UK where scared of selling in case they got COVID or they gave it to the recipient of the parcel. I think I mentioned many times in the vid alternatives. But don't comment hate on how to do a build many years on from the upload as it makes zero sense, as times have changed.
