  • I'll show you how I set up a Lowrance HDS Pro 12" unit for a single unit installation. You'll see all of the steps to get the unit setup. Most of what is shown in the video can be used on HDS Live, Carbon, Elite FS, and other units.
The unit will be setup so that when you add an additional unit(s) later, it will continue to work as before.

Good info to have. A bit long, but informative. Keep em coming.

Thanks. It was a little longer than I expected. Other than the short piece in the beginning, I shot that in one take.
Hopefully I can get something at Anglers later this week. And thanks for watching!

👍👍Awesome video. I also add supply voltage to overlay options. What is the difference between structure depth and depth on the data overlay option selections? Do you save your settings to a non-mapping disk in case you have to do a hard reset which will erase those settings?

Thank you very much! I do put the supply voltage on one of my console units as well as the charging current since the electronics battery gets charged while the engine is running. I probably should have mentioned that as well. Thanks.
The structure depth uses the depth reading from the sidescan transducer (CH2) where the depth comes from a normal Sonar transducer (CH1). In this case, since the only had one transducer then it was okay to use structure depth as it will always be the same value. If there were 2 transducers, one of each, then you should use the Sonar transducer. This is especially true if your Sonar transducer is mounted in the hull so that it works at speed.
Yes, I do save my settings to an external micro SD card. I did a video on prepping a unit for sale and showed how to do that. This unit will eventually go back on the bow of my boat, so I am planning on saving the settings of the old unit and then loading them up on this unit when it gets installed. I probably should have mentioned saving the settings in the video.
      Thanks again for watching. Garry
