    This is one of the very few times where a project actually turned out to be EASIER than the RUclips video showed. On my 2023 Frontier there was PLENTY of room and to hose going to the PVC fitting did NOT need any grease or any lube at all to install. Just a little extra "elbow grease', LOL.

    Why does the Nissan 3.8 need this you ask? Because Nissan developed a new V6 with direct injection and ignored the fact that it would need port injection as well to keep the intake valves clean.
    Toyota and Ford are doing dual port injection, even Hyundai is getting into it. What gives Nissan?
    You otherwise make a great truck.

    Thank you for this video. I’m a proud owner of a 2024 Pro 4X and installed this, this morning. Took me about 20 mins, I’m not an expert, but I am going to learn more about my truck and start doing oil changes. First is recommend at 5000 miles, but anyone think I should change earlier? Oil recommendations? Motul?

    • @PRO4XKEV
      @PRO4XKEV 6 месяцев назад +1

      Best thing to do is do first oil/filter change at 1,000 miles, this will flush out all break in contaminants. Use name brand full synthetic oil in 0w-20 and use the OEM Nissan oil filter for warranty purpose. Do oil changes every 4k miles after the first change. Z-1 Offroad has service kits for the Frontier and Titan and lots more cool stuff, Nissan has a service kit from Z-1 check it out. Doing the above will add life to the Nissan 3.8 and enjoy the truck, I love my 2023 Pro4X.

    I would like to make a suggestion that you explain which side is the in and which side is the out on the catch can, the filtered side is always the in side and the unfiltered side is always the out side but in this video you say nothing about it. I know you have on line with a barb but this is something that still needs to be explained. Seem J&L will move the filter from one side to the other depending on the application which just confuses this even more.

    Question: how to check the oil collection? Uninstall it or there is a quicker way to open the can?
    Will this void the warranty? If so, I guess I will have to remove it before bring it to the dealer?

    • @jloilseparatorco.1853
      @jloilseparatorco.1853  9 месяцев назад +1

      The bottom of the can unthreads from the top for servicing the separator.
      As far as the warranty goes, if you read the fine print on any warranty contract you will find a lot of reasons your warranty can become void; installing aftermarket parts can be one of them. However, per the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act proof would have to be provided that the after-market part caused the failure.
      If you need further clarification, contact your vehicles service department. Some are easier to deal with than others.

And I believe some have said they caught more on the intake side...do u know anything about this?maybe im explaining it wrong or have it mixed up but I want to make sure my set up is the best it can be .if that means two of them then cool ...also I saw someone test different medias in the catch can and tested the difference in pressure .i believe they sais the brass filters restrict air and create more pressure..i dont want to put a system in until I know it wont mess with the pressure too much and to make sure i catch as much as possible.any thoughts on this?

      Also how is this system set up?the engine I mean..1 pcv on the passenger side and where does that hose connect to (from the catch can) does it connect to the valve cover on the other side?would it be better to put the catch can on the other side if they are somehow both connected to catch all the oil or how is the 3.8 v6 set up?

    • @jloilseparatorco.1853
      @jloilseparatorco.1853  2 года назад +2

      The vehicle has what is commonly referred to as a "clean" and "dirty" side PCV system. Our kit interrupts the "dirty" side. From our experience the "clean" side on most vehicles collects little to no oil.

      In very cold climates in the winter months condensation can build up in the oil separator itself. You'll want to check it more frequently in the winter months as it'll fill faster due to that. Other than that, no problem.
