I like how you 'plumbed' everything for the install. And your adaptation for the fuel is a great idea. Even if you don't remove it from the vehicle, having the double-containment is a very SMART way to go.

Hi just a tip to save future maintainer grief on your heater. At the back door gap for air entrance to the heater. Get a good piece of furnace air filter and cut a small piece to cover the gap. This will help to keep DUST from getting into the heater and causing you trouble. Cheap AND effective help to keep the heater working. Tom up in Canada in the Maritimes at the NB-NS border
    Have a nice day.

Great job sir I have two metal housing 8kw diesel air heaters that I’m about to install into my 1967 GM TDH-4519 city bus conversion but I’m waiting on parts I have researched and learned a lot about these heaters and the pumps that these heaters use need to be at a angle between 15 and 45 degrees and to make them quite just hang them with zip ties or exhaust hangers and these pump require a hard fuel line

Check out my video on the installation in the cargo trailer we used a piece of rubber hose instead of zip ties and it worked great. Yes you are correct it needs to be at an angle so that the air bubbles can work their way out of the pump. However I have never heard that you need a hard fuel line both of the pumps that I have installed works great with the provided rubber hose.

That would be a gd install about right now in Calgary's cold winter climate. I also have an Astro AWD van as home during workdays.

Have you had any diesel smell inside? Trying to figure out how to make my tank outside somehow...

I use a 3-gal marine fuel tank. I haven’t had any issue with a diesel smell.

It is a good idea to replace the poor quality green hose with better quality WHITE fuel hose. It will save you grief in the future. Tom in Canada

Chinese version of Espar heater I've had under the bunk for 17 or 18 years in 3 different trucks if ya want them to they will run you out of the cab, just be careful what is in front of heat vent they will melt water bottles and turn paper brown
