  • I installed a 2KW Vevor brand diesel heater in my 2023 3rd Gen Toyota Tacoma for cold weather and winter truck camping. I give my honest review, long term results, and share the full installation after almost 3 years of use. How well does it heat the back of a truck? Stay tuned to find out!

just like your furnace at home, the chamber can form cracks. Esp with it being in a vehicle and bouncing around. Not to mention, Chinese welds are not known to be the best. I would recommend putting a Co² detector in there. You can get one for an RV, that would work. Even though you put the work into sealing up the hole underneath, you still have to be careful that the chamber does not crack and allow Co² to mix in with the heat and kill you. JMO!!

hola jamas coloques codo de 90 grados en salida de calor porque se devuelve el calor y puede estropearel calentador...se recomienda dar un metro de linea recta y despues puedes colocar codo ok.

I elevated my diesel heater and exhausted through the bottom of the passenger cubby/storage in the box to avoid drilling out the main area, I couldn't do the big holes in my bed like you did I was too afraid, I like your install tho it's legit bruh

Check back in the next couple days. I’ll try to have that information up. I uploaded this on the road and I ran out of time. All were purchased from Amazon or eBay. I’ll post links.

Mixed reviews are typically a sign of bad quality control , either at the manufacturing end or the consumer end .
And since this product is from China , and , requires some fabrication ability and attention to detail , I am not at all surprised by less than stellar ratings owing to mixed reviews .
The problem with idiot proofing is that idiots are constantly evolving and develop immunity to common sense , faster than cockroaches develop immunity to pesticides .
    Anyway , awesome video .
Be nice if they made a 1Kw heater , since the 2 -2.5 Kw units are really overkill for a full size pickup with a canopy , and unless you are camping in arctic conditions , you will likely keep yours at the lowest setting .
This exacerbates carbon buildup in the unit unless you run it full blast for 10 minutes every time before you shut it off for the day .

A lot of truth here. I would agree most diesel heater problems are an installation error. And you’re right - even a 2kw can be overkill for a pickup but it’s the best solution I’ve come up with. A buddy heater is way too warm, too quick. A constant cycle of turning it on and off. At least the diesel heater on low is semi regulated.
      Thanks for watching.
