I had the exact same BVM and it was never accurate. Several times it would tell me I had at least 50AH remaining and the battery was completely dead. I finally upgraded to all Victron components from the Rennogy. Camper looks great, I'm glad to see others building their rigs over buying them.
@@Tjeppx Agreed, and the clearcoat fails faster on this color than other Toyota truck colors :( But.....since Cavalry Blue wasn't an option at the time, THIS is the best for Gen 2.
The hairband works, A strip of wood across the shelf would keep your stuff on that shelf. You would be surprised how many times drawers and cabinets come open during travel in RVs.
Yup, just about every long drive stuff ends up flying everywhere. It’s gotten to almost be entertaining every time I open the door to see what’s gotten thrown 😂
That's an awesome spot! Looks like the Tetons?? Camper looks great, I passed through there this summer in my truck camper! It's definitely an experience.
Thanks for the inspiration and ideas. That being said: What's your plan for when someone shuts the tail gate when you're inside? I say "when" because my friends are jerks and this would definitely happen.
Weighs roughly 1,000 lbs! Not sure on payload as I have a lift and air bags to be able to hold more weight. I can say that my truck didn’t budge before/after haha
I'm curious why folks that build their own campers don't extend them on to the tailgate or even beyond for additional space. I know he mentions backup camera, but there are alternatives if you have to have it. wouldn't it be nicer to have 2' of extra room?
If your battery monitor is giving the wrong information, chances are you have loads that are bypassing the shunt. Either that or there is a bad setting, such as battery capacity.
I’m going to make something like this for my Tacoma but I’m going to make a locking bracket for my tailgate. You’re be screwed if someone put your tailgate up while you were in it.
What if somebody locks your tailgate while you are inside?
Something to consider
Remove tailgate. Problem solved.
Just have a padlock handy. If you lock it on one of the latch anchors the gate can't close
Love your pickup and your camper it’s so cool looking 👍
Take the back seats out when you get home. So much more room to build stuff in.
Awesome build, I bet that you’ll have people wanting to put in a order for one as well 👍🏻 Your Dad sounds like a awesome Man also ✝️🇺🇸🤙🏻🅰️
Haha, thank you!

very impressed. perfect camper for one person.
Thank you !
Excellent build dude. Very creative. Good choice on the Taco too 🌮
Thank you !
Turned out really nice. I like what you've done.
Thank you!
First time watching… Subbed. Safe travels
Welcome! 🙏
You should but magnets on the ceiling to hold the door of cabinets open, easy to install and less stress of hinge.
Sweet camper!! I have a 2005 Indigo Ink Pearl Tacoma. Best color they ever made.
Mine shows scratches too easy haha

Pretty cool Tommy! ❤️
2:19 its telling you 0 hours until full charge. The timer changes with the up or down status of your battery.

Yep that’s the Tetons. One of my favorites
We have the same fridge in our truck campers. I love mine.
It works great, but definitely can be annoying have to dig to the bottom at some times 😂
So sick 🔥
Thank you brotha!
Inspirational and magnetic!
Well said!
Thanks for the inspiration and ideas. That being said: What's your plan for when someone shuts the tail gate when you're inside? I say "when" because my friends are jerks and this would definitely happen.
Great question, I put a lock on one of the hooks where the tailgate locks on the sides. Prevents the tailgate from being able to shut fully
awesome work and great build!! I love toyota's reliability with their older gens! how much does the thing weigh?
I estimate the cap alone weighs roughly 500-600lbs. Cap and everything inside brought it out to about 1000 lbs
@@Tjeppx that's pretty light!
Travel is good! Stay safe.
Love it, super spacious
What's your average mpg for your cruising speed? I love the aero front
Great job! Did you mention who much it weights? How much of the Toyota payload did you use? Thanks and travel on.

You did well, it looks nice & comfortable. What do you do for work to work remotely? Good video!
Will the truck roof hit the camper if it flexs
Haven’t had any issues, however if I did I build it again, I would definitely add another inch of clearance
How does the truck like the camper? Looks mint dude!
Thank you! Trucks been running fantastic with it. Honestly can’t tell it’s even on 😂

How do you keep the cab in the trunk though
How did you go about attaching it to the frame? Or is it just sitting on the bed.
How is the insulation with the foam board? Deciding between foam or fiberglass
I used 1.5” foam and it’s been amazing. Been getting down to high 50s in Wyoming and it’ll stay cozy inside until the early morning

I use a lock on the hook/latch where my tailgate shuts. Works like a charm and keeps people from being able to close it 👍
For those cabinet doors...what if you just incorporated a magnet to hold them in the up position?
That’s a good idea!
ditch cabinet doors
Very impressive. What do you do for a shower?
Gyms, campgrounds, friends places. Although I’m going to setup a shower head on the rear that’s connected to my water pump for an outdoor shower!
How does it drive at hwy speeds?
So what happens if someone closes your tailgate when u r in it
Have the door open inward, not outward.
How tall are you? I’m 62 and wonder if I would have any headroom.
Your walls , how thick ?
I tested a simpler way to make it, and it felt good.
I would be worried about someone closing that tailgate trapping me inside
So you got the thing built, you've shown it off and bragged about how cheap it was to build, when you gonna go places and video? We're waiting buddy!
Working on it! Have plenty of footage, just need to put it together. Thanks for following along 🤝
"Bear spray" my guy truck guns exist.
Why do you call your truck a car?
