Informative video Dave. We have put 3 diesel heaters in now. We run the fuel line through small rubber hose to protect from stones. Cover the clear fuel tank otherwise the sunlight will start growing algae in the diesel. We extended the breather in the opposite direction of the exhaust by 1 metre so you don't suck the exhaust in thru the breather. Also you need 2 vents. 1 for the hot air to come out and the other on the opposite side for air to come in after the air has gone with the bed closed
Yes I have got a vent for the air to get in once the bed is open and I did move the air intake to the opposite side so it’s not near the exhaust. I will touch on this in a later video. I was worried the video was getting to long and people would lose interest so I’ll touch on that other stuff once we review it later. Thanks for the feed back 😃 Cheers Dave and Nik 🇦🇺🍻👍
@@daveniksadventures2255 you put on such good videos. After watching your Install of the OGO we purchased one and installed it. Pinched your idea of the back cowling from old toilet. Looks very posh. Keep up the good work you 2
Great install. Just two minor points. Those tanks are not great in the sun, so the time may come where it cracks and needs to be replaced, just so you are prepared. Mine is in a diesel van, so I plumbed it into the van fuel tank, but I hear dingy fuel tanks or a jerry can are great as a replacement when the time comes. The second point is the exhaust should not have a low spot in the middle like it appeared to have, otherwise condensation can pool in there and block the exhaust which causes fuel mixture issues and cokeing inside the combustion chamber. You should try to make it so the exhaust could drain all the water out by gravity. It looks like it may end up acting like a P-trap. Such a neat install though. Well done.
I have a cover over the tank now so it is protected And I have also re-rooted the air intake and exhaust since that install. Thanks for the advice. Thanks for watching and supporting our channel. Cheers Dave and Nik 👍🍻🇦🇺
Top job especially considering no instructions. Just one thing for longevity, I used a mesh screened pipe fitting with a reducer to replace air filter. Keeps the insects out of the combustion chamber which can cause problems later but again top job.
Dave…an earlier comment that you ran the exhaust from heater in a different direction to the air intake so as not to suck in fumes. (1) Did you extend the exhaust pipe of the heater to get it away from the air intake thingy you installed in the toilet door? (2) Also, how is your pipe going that was said if you left it too long it would get condensation in it. The one that pokes into the pvc out the toilet door(3) what is the size of the PVC you purchased for putting through the door? We have some pipe here and wondered if it would be the correct size. Do you have an ID and OD measurement? Are you pleased with the OGO and how it works? Thanks Dave & Nik
No I didn’t extent the exhaust pipe on the diesel heater just put them as far apart as I could and it’s seems to be working fine. I cut the pipe and made sure it was in a down ward position so as the condensation can run out if it builds up. Not sure on the pipe size just took the hose to Bunnings and got the pipe to fit there. And the Ogo is going great no smell. Cheers Dave and Nik 🇦🇺🍻👍
Hi Dave and Nik! We just started following your channel. Great job installing the new loo! We're watching the Cape York trip and I'm drooling over Dave's cooking. 😋 Can I ask if you are a chef by trade? We're from Baldivis and thinking about a caravan....🤔 Can't make up our minds. Did like the Urban 👍 Also the new Evolve. Looking forward to more videos. Cheers, Rikki and Keith
Not sure 🤔 I got it off a bloke who didn’t fit it to his van before he sold it. And there wasn’t a instruction book with it. But they all look the same and wire up the same so I think it doesn’t matter on brand or price they are all a much of a muchness’s. Cheers Dave and Nik 🇦🇺🍻👍
I haven't had any drama with it It if I had a honeycomb floor I would use nuts and bolts because screws won't grab onto that floor type very well. Cheers Dave and Nik 👍🍻🇦🇺🍩
Great video has helped me installing out Diesel Heater thanks Dave & Nik.

I really enjoy tinkering around with stuff.

Is there anything you would have done differently ? Are you happy with the install ?
Yes happy with it and how it is performing.
If I was to do it again I'd still do it the same way.

How is the heater holding up Dave? About to fit mine, is it holding well enough with the screws in the floor or would you recommend bolts?
I haven't had any drama with it

Good job Dave .
How many Kilowatts is that one?
It’s a 5kw which I think is too big !
But it won’t need to work too hard we will just turn it down.
