In my opinion, it is this type of video that separates the content creators from the content professionals. I view Marlena as a content professional for so many reasons! 😊
Exactly they all just do trying new makeup in which they do an eye look but it’s more to review product and not about technique. Marlena is the queen 👸
I love tutorials, too! Hers are O.G.! And I like the shorts once in a while. She does her own thing and does it well, she isnt falling into trends, but things that actuallylook great. She doesn't want to do what everyone else is doing. She does her own thing, and I love it.
There are quick ones on TikTok! But I’m so appreciative of Marlena doing these again, she taught me everything 10+ years ago, and now I’m relearning to do makeup again after not wearing any for years.
My just absolutely baffled that long format tutorials don't "bring in views!" I LOVVVE an in depth, real time application, tutorial! It's about learning, visualizing techniques, watching products perform, ease of use, etc. I will FOREVER be a fan of a traditional tutorial!
I wish more creators would put out makeup tutorials. Thank you for this!!! Even though I have makeup experience, I super appreciate getting a fresh, new makeup tutorial to follow in 2023!
I love the old school tutorials. I miss those so much! I find myself going back to some of my favorite tutorials. Some from years and years ago. Not only to remind myself of techniques I haven't done in a while but just to get ready while watching my favorite beauty gurus get ready too.
I totally get you! Beauty gurus(even though they hated that term...normal ones at least) were like a different kind of species, in comparison to these "new ones". They were kind, weren't trying to sell you something, had a passion for what they were doing and they wanted to share their knowledge. They weren't influenced by money(well, YT wasn't monetised...but nevertheless, even if it had been, people were doing YT for a selfless reasons). Watching those videos gets me into special mental state. A good one.
I am truly loving the old school makeup tutorials marlena. Please keep them coming. I love your video's, they're very in depth and very educational. I learn a lot from watching your video's. 😊❤
Marlena I could watch you do makeup all day long! If you ever want a 61 yr old grandma who lives makeup for an illustration I volunteer!!! Plus I live close. Oh I’m dreaming but the way you apply and the finish look is always amazing! Thanks for the tutorial 💕💕💕
Thank you, Marlena, for never changing and always being a genuine person. I’ve watched you from the beginning and cheered for your success. But am so glad you’ve never let the success change you. You’re still the beautiful soul that we all love. ❤️
I love watching your videos. You can just tell that Marlena has a sweet and caring soul. You can feel it even thru the screen watching her videos. You are doing so well girl keep it up! We are here for you!! ❤
Great tutorial! It was easy to follow and you have such a soothing voice Marlena :D I am still a make-up novice so I am on the struggle-bus haha Thank you!
I’m 46 and started watching you in 2013/14 ish. I have 5 kids so sometimes I fall off the makeup train and get super lazy but I’ve been wanting to get back into it and this is the perfect video that just popped into my feed. I have hooded downturned eyes so what a challenge but can’t wait to try this. So glad you’re still making content. I still have a pallet of all my favorite makeup geek shadows ❤.
Thank you Marlena! I miss those tutorials that show lovely, more natural looks. Beautiful!❤ Can’t wait to try tomorrow morning! Will report back… LOL! 😅
Just wanted to throw this out there to make a note of it in case youve been doing something different, You're audio is sounding absolutely fabulous comparatively. I always love your videos, but with the way your audio sounds now not only am i loving to watch, im loving even more the listening aspect! Love you girl! Keep up that amazing sh*t you do!❤ (Edit; Spelling)
This is my first time watching her, and when it was over I immediately subscribed! I really appreciate the fact she put a time stamp on when the eye part started in case we just wanted to see that. I really enjoyed the rest of it, and I did get some great tips, but I also loved the fact I could just watch the eye part! I could really tell I was watching a true MUA and not just some who likes to play with it. Can’t wait for the next one!
I have a formal gala for work in October and I'm definitely going to do this eye look! I already know it'll look amazing!😉 Thanks for the great tutorial!
Hey Marlena! My idea, and how I completed this great look, is to take the darker shade used to blend out the liner and combine it with white or beige matte shadow to precisely lighten the shadow for just above the darkest shade! Worked out great! I think this super simple amazing technique may just be my new go to! Really does work with ANY shadow color! Thank you so much, you are the very best! ❤️👌🏾
Wow! I followed this technique today... it literally took me only 5 minutes to do my eyes, yet they came out superbly better than they ever did before! Thank you so much!
You were the reason I became obsessed with makeup! You were the very first person I started watching!! I would literally screenshot your makeup looks so I could try them on myself later! ITS ALL YOUR FAULT MARLENA!! 😂❤ Love you!! Thank you for being you! 😘😘
Absolutely Love this tutorial!!! So incredibly helpful. Would so love to spend a day, even an hour, learning in person with you. Truly appreciate all that you share. Have a beautiful day!
Just tried all of this. First watched the whole thing through then played & paused so I could follow on as I applied everything. Thank you for being so clear, straightforward, not rushed but also not going off on tangents so I could truly follow along. I have very fair skin and blue eyes and that orangey “Sedona red rocks” colour really makes them pop. I never would have put it together with that deep plum, but it looks great! As a beginner my execution was pretty terrible but once I had mascara on it looks much better than I thought it would! I definitely need more brushes so I can do this correctly. One more thing, I have slightly hooded eyes and this technique focused on the prime real estate so I learned a lot about where I should prioritize colour. I will be practicing this and playing around with different colours. Thank you !!!!
Love this technique!!!! And the fact that you use a wide range of cosmetics… chefs kiss! I use affordable mixed with high end makeup all the time. I also stopped using strip lashes but I do like the effect of the singles. Great look❤❤❤❤❤ You are a class above the rest.
Excellent tutorial. It brings me back and I'm living for it. Not over produced, shows Marlena's contagious personality, and feels like I'm listening to a friend I haven't seen in a long time. Keep up the good work
Hello Beautiful! Just stumbled on you today! Seasoned professional MUA here, and ADORE the eye look! Will be implementing today. You have a radiant and authentic energy that beams out ✨Appreciate you’re not pushing products , giving us tutorials we can use with what we already have. Love and Blessings ❤
Tried it today and i like it😍. The Rephr 14 brush (the small blending/crease brush that tapers to a point) makes it really easy to do the smokey winged portion of this on hooded eyes. Ty for the ideas❤
Can’t wait to try this look!! I really miss makeup geek products. My two large pallets are getting low and I have no idea of a good dupe for your eyeshadows. Maybe you can do video For this?😊
Awww this takes me all the way back to being 14 and learning how to do my makeup by watching your tutorials!! You’re truly such an OG in the makeup community Marlena, definitely keep the tutorials coming!! I basically learned how to do my makeup from you all the way back in 08 I totally forgot about makeup geek until you popped up on my feed just now 🤩🫶🏼 I’m gonna have to try this look now!!!
I just watched this and did my eyelook like the tutorial! I have both deepset eyes & hooded eyes. And it worked! This will be my go to eyelook. Thanks Marlena! I wish i could insert the photo here!!
THIS!! This is the perfect display of skill and can help soooo many people with their own techniques! When I was teaching classes with Il Makiage these same types of methods were referenced quite frequently!
Marlena, i must say, you are such a beautiful woman!! I think you are such a true natural beauty, amd always do your makeup to compliment that!! 🥰😍 And i always appreciate your .akeup tips!!
1. You are so pretty. 2. This was the best tutorial I’ve watched on eyes. Easy to follow, easy to execute. Which I appreciate both. As I’m in my 40s now 41 almost 42, I find myself looking for ways to bring my eyes more open and pulled up. Gravity is a real B. But I don’t have 10 years to do my makeup in the morning. I’m a hospice nurse and just schedule is busy. But I still want to feel good when I leave the house. I don’t wear makeup for anyone but myself. As long as I feel good in it, then I feel on 🔥.
In my opinion, it is this type of video that separates the content creators from the content professionals. I view Marlena as a content professional for so many reasons! 😊
💯
That’s a good point! Tati is pretty professional too, imo
I agree 100%
Agree!
💯💯💯
I love these tutorials! Nobody does them anymore, but makeup changes so much. Would love to see more.
I agree! I need more, in depth makeup tutorials. Especially, for the eyes!! Thank you!❤

Thinking the same!!!
Agree!
So glad you’re loving it!! ❤❤❤
Right everyone else is just trying to sell you stuff 🥰
My just absolutely baffled that long format tutorials don't "bring in views!" I LOVVVE an in depth, real time application, tutorial! It's about learning, visualizing techniques, watching products perform, ease of use, etc. I will FOREVER be a fan of a traditional tutorial!

SO happy you all are loving! I was nervous to post as I know tutorials don’t get viewed as much but I love doing them
Me too! I love this I have mostly hooded eyes!
@@MarlenaStellno please keep them up I love them!
😮😅😅😅😊
I agree, but people keep saying no one watches them anymore. That can’t be true then.
60+ lady here. Loving your tutorials! So easy to follow and absolutely doable for anyone!
Same here and you echoed my thoughts! 😊
58 here and agree as well.
Your dressing sense is good.
Yay!!! I love how you said let’s rewind the time…. I miss these tutorials sooo much. Thank you for this one, and keep more like these coming😅

It’s so wonderful to see my original YT girl crush from 15 years ago back and making videos about what she knows best ❤️
You're wonderful, Marlena! So good to see you shine so brightly!
Thank you so much Kelly!! Xo

So glad they’re helpful!! Xoxo ❤
I work at sephora and I been applying your techniques in my clients. My makeup game has improved tremendously. Love you girl ❤ thank you.
A makeup tutorial! I like these. And the explanation between a shimmery color and a metallic one is very helpful.
I'd love to see you do this on someone with a hooded eye. I know you say it works for any shape, but it seems like you'd need to modify it some.
Absolutely fantastic Marlena!! Nothing better than sitting by the pool watching you do what you do best!
Always sending you love!! ♥️
Well that sounds like a really nice way to watch YT!
Thank you, Marlena, for never changing and always being a genuine person. I’ve watched you from the beginning and cheered for your success. But am so glad you’ve never let the success change you. You’re still the beautiful soul that we all love. ❤️
Thank you so much Julie 🥹🥹♥️♥️♥️

I love watching your videos. You can just tell that Marlena has a sweet and caring soul. You can feel it even thru the screen watching her videos. You are doing so well girl keep it up! We are here for you!! ❤
Marlena I am so happy to see your amazing tutorials again! I’ve always loved them ❤❤❤
I’m 54 and this is by far the best BEST makeup tutorial I’ve ever seen . You make it look simple and your personality is a great bonus ❤
Great tutorial! It was easy to follow and you have such a soothing voice Marlena :D I am still a make-up novice so I am on the struggle-bus haha Thank you!
