Deep brown eyes…. Am 58, and I tried that pop of green liner on the top with black mascara… boom! My husband said, “Your eyes look big and beautiful.” Not bad after 36 years of marriage… thank YOU! Love your channel and thrilled that you include as all trying to navigate our aging with grace. 💝
Mine are brown with dark rim on the outsides. I personally struggle doing my eye makeup as I've gotten older (issues with eyesight & botched carpal tunnel surgery), but I've never really made them up much. I prefer liquid liner for my eyeshape and shades of neutrals, rose, and browns. I'd love getting a professional makeup artist to help me, so gleaning from your knowledge is a 🎁 ! Thank you, Gabi.
@@Carolina-rd3gh It depends on the skin colour. I have brown eyes and a red toned purple would make me look super sickly. I have too much purple and red under the eyes and it would pull that out making me look more tired. That is why it's always important to experiment because make is VERY individualized.
I have brown and green eyes and the most beautiful look I've ever done was a combination of a purple and green smokey eye. My inspiration was from one of my favorite gemstones which is flourite. Now I see why I loved it so much after watching this video.
Ahh, that's such a beautiful stone. I have brown eyes. My favorite stone is Tanzanite. 2nd favorite would be a Columbian Emerald. I have a couple of loose Tanzanites and a loose Columbian Emerald. While it has that deep green to it it also looks like it's glowing from within. And now we both know the why's, lol.

I have medium brown eyes and have found that brown colors look the best, as well as deep maroons or wine colors. I'm always looking for a way to pop but found that color all over the lid just doesn't so good except the ones listed above. I really really appreciate what you said about just doing the color pop to accent underneath the bottom lash line. That sounds perfect! Thank you so much!!!!
I've got those really rare Chameleon Green or Cats Eye that literally change hue based upon the level of light or the colors of clothing worn, so when I wear eye shadow it can literally change my eye color from a yellow-green to an emerald green depending on the color eye shadow chosen----a gold, brown, red or purple. People really notice and compliment whenever I wear my fave color---PURPLE!
I used to do makeovers. I had an Hazel green eyed client once that wanted the eyes to shine, and every thing else pretty neutral. I applied a soft baby pink for the eyeshadow, with a hint of gold and chocolate brown eyeliner. Everyone said they had never noticed how big & pretty her eyes were!☺️☺️I was so surprised but happy she loved it and apparently was a show stopper! Great color suggestions, by the way! And I absolutely love learning about Color theory!!👍🏽👍🏽🤗🤗
Love how you wrap up the end of your videos so quickly. Video over! No unnecessary chatter. Great tips. I have blue-green eyes and found I was drawn to so many peach, coral and copper shades last year that I have 3 pallets in the same family (Dior, ABH and L’ORÉAL). Do you ever do that? I struggle getting a light application. I wish each palette had more neutrals (the L’Oréal is the most flexible in this regard and inexpensive) then, I can focus on refining eye shape (hooded eyes) with a pop of color vs all over color which can be too dramatic. You may have done this before, but a video on different looks for hooded mature eyes would be so valuable!
I have bluish-grey eyes. I get the most compliments when wearing pink eyeshadow. The rose pink color in the ABH soft glam palette seems to work well for me. I used to wear orange colors all the time but between having cool eyes/hair, olive skin and a winter color season, it just makes me look haggard and sick somehow. Copper is better.
@@Lilah_Ninigigun_Belet-Eanna I’m laughing because you’ve got all but red. Try a splash of red, maybe with copper. Then you’ve got the full rainbow. I too have blue/green eyes. Oh wait! What is red bean paste? More giggles from me.
@@MK-cc5ve "Red bean paste" lipstick is a SE Asian term for a burgundy-brownish shade. I do have burgundy shades but tomato reds make most people look sick as it imitates illness/disease(i.e. bloodshot eyes), as would dark yellow/mustard shades (i.e. jaundice) etc.
I have hazel eyes and I agree with another comment - this eye color is all too often ignored! This was a great video, I think I'll try that pop of color under my eyes - I wouldn't have thought of that. Yes please, more color theory videos! I haven't seen much if anything about that since I was a kid and my mom got into the Color Me Beautiful line!!
I think its because hazel eyes are so diverse - I reckon you just have to look at the main colours in your eyes and go with it. My dad and SIL have hazel eyes that are very green based and my BF has hazel eyes that are very grey based. I love hazel eyes, they're always pretty and interesting.
I have hazel eyes. I notice that I get the most compliments when I wear maroon on the outer corner with gold on the lid which makes total sense with what you are saying! I also love wearing purple. Love this video!
Yes please do more of these videos for eye colour, mine are a very light golden colour with a grey ring around the Iris, but I've loved the eye looks that popped up and the blue under your eyes made them pop. Loved the black and gold smoky eye look for the brown eyes, ooh that was gorgeous. Thank You Gabi. 🌟
I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed this video! Your eyes sound absolutely stunning Georgina! Do you ever bring gold into the lid? It would be beautiful.
Thank you so much, Gabi! I am one of the people who asked you to do a video like this!!! My eyes are very blue, lashes and brows are very dark even at nearly 75. I fight the creases upper and under my eyes so I need to find a really good under eye concealer for very dry skin. 😊
I have blue eyes, but right at this moment not sure about what color "flecks" are in my eyes...I haven't looked that closely in a long time. And I don't wear much makeup these days, whereas "back in the day", I sang professionally & always had to have hair & makeup to the 10's. I honestly don't know how I did it? Now, it just seems exhausting to me, & So Much work! Thank God I am So over it! The bad thing though, is now I am so out of practice, & being older, it's like having to learn completely new techniques, cause age isn't kind in the respect! Definitely more step-by-step tutorials for the mature woman! Gabbi, You are just so sweet & down-to-earth. And you are so incredibly Beautiful too! P.S.--Penny Smith recommend you on her channel, so I subscribed to you a couple months ago, & I LOVE your channel! 💞
I have very dark brown/black hair and blue eyes, and I’ve always used brown/orange/gold shades on my eyes and most of the time it works out just fine(I did learn a lot about color in art school, and that has always been helpful)😊 I do ofcourse use other colors too if I feel like it,playing around with different colors and techniques is what will make you better at doing your own makeup😊
This is great, thx Gabi. Your talk today sparked a memory of a convo I overheard in the 1980's, when hair and makeup were rather flamboyant. A stylist was talking about her technique for highlighting and coloring hair which was to look for the color surrounding the pupil (if it is visible, speckles work too)and tone the hair in that color family to pop the eyes. This is similar to your suggestion for using specking to enhance/dramatize the total look. So interesting
@@mquilez01 A BIG thing, figuratively and literally. The permed hair, the jewelry, the shoulder pads, the flamboyant makeup, the clubs and nightlife, the aerobics and jazzercize craze with Danskin tights and leatards and headbands. Bodybuilding, esp the women getting more involved in competition and augmenting their physiques with iimplants to offset the effects of steroids(which,BTW, I tend to believe was pivotal in the popularity of breast enhancements even to this day) Everything BIG. So tacky yet so memorable an era. (The guys were over the top, too) P.S. didn't lip injections gain traction because of a role Barbara Hershey played in movie "Beaches" back then and she had filler put in for that part? I think so. SO ,big lips,too..lolol
@@michelekurlan2580 Big lips are definitely popular now! So many people I see online have them, and I know some (most?) of them have to have gotten filler; not that many people are born with huge lips. I wish mine were fuller, but not enough to pay to have them done. 😊
I have green eyes with a dark rim and yellow flecks. I love red based browns. Love Urban Decay Heat palette and also love rose gold and mauve tones... so Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk palette is also a favorite. 💕
I'm 62 and retired RN and just now (and when I was a teen) playing with makeup I basically wore a green eyeshadow as a liner and powder blush and that was it..I am learning but so much appreciate your videos and am learning so much! Thank you
My eyes change color and tend to be hazel but go bluer and then green so yeah I like my eyes..havent achieved the look I want yet but trying new look every day
I have brown eyes. I'm excited to play with blue and green now on my eyes. Usually, I stick with purples or neutrals. I'm going to kick it up a notch. Thank you for explaining this.
Definitely kick it up a notch! You may find that you really really love it! Experimenting with makeup is so fun and you will be surprised as to what you can discover.
Green eyes here :) Love purple in various configurations, love red combined with brown. But also green accents on lower lid make my eyes pop. Combined with golden shimmers (when not purple), and rosey/purple shimmers.
Great video! Thanks for explaining the color wheel influences! I have brown eyes and I notice I get more compliments when I wear purples or plum colors on my eyes. I guess my brown eyes lean toward an army green tone, perhaps that’s why purple looks nice.😊
Medium brown eyes, brown hair, neutral skin tone. I would love to see a detailed, step-by -step makeup tutorial for green, blue and/or purple eye makeup looks that you showed here!
What about us Redheads! I’d love to see a short tutorial for Redheads! I have Blue-Green eyes! I feel like any time I wear color, I look like I’m going to the circus! LOL! I LOVE your tutorials and at 55 yrs, I’m still learning new things as my skin changes. You are stunning and enjoy your wisdom. Keep it coming!❤
This was great, thank you! I have blue eyes and you're right, I get so many compliments about my eyes popping when I wear gold, orange, earthy tones. My go-to splash of colour is dark mauve or deep purple tones and I incorporate this every day with a plum colour mascara. It's subtle but does the trick. My takeaway is the smokey eye. I've never been good at this technique. Will search your vids for this. ❤
You don’t need a tutorial for every eye colour - otherwise she’d be here all day cause there are so many eye colours. And it’s really not necessary cause the same method is used to determine which colour/s make another colour pop. It’s just all about colour theory. Colours opposite to another colour on the colour wheel make each other pop - so just Google colour wheel and look for one with all the shades in between the primary and secondary colours as well and pick your eye colour out and use colours opposite to it on the wheel. Easy. Done.
So I should use purple for my grey eyes and bring out the bluish purple undereye discoloration? Or just stick to neutral colors like I've been doing for 30 years? I'd like a bit of change. I'm regressing as I age! ❤😂
Yes please! Eye tutorials could be broken up and I for one can’t just google color wheel. Where is brown? What about cool brown? Which products work? MAC alone has a zillions browns

I think brown eyes can look mysterious and alluring in a smokey eyeshadow. But, yes, I agree....blue eyes look absolutely stunning in not just a smokey look but even with just black eyeliner. This was fun to watch. I liked the detailed explanation. Thank you for sharing. Makes me want to experiment with mixing some blue eyeliner in with my black eye liner.
Hi Gabi 😀, I have medium brown eyes with lighter brown/honey flecks in them. Sometimes I use mustard yellow eyeshadows with shimmer because it’s outside my comfort zone, and I get compliments on my eyes. I tried lighter, brighter, lemony yellows but those don’t work with my skin tone, so I stick with the darker, warmer, mustardy yellows. If I want more drama I’ll add dark warm brown eyeshadow with a plummy undertone.
I have green/blue eyes. I call them Hazel. No one ever, ever addresses this color and I am certain I am not the only person in the whole world that has this color. What about pink eye shadow?
Yes, my eyes are green-blue too. I describe them as murky pond water color! And yes, a light pink works wonderfully for me, maybe like a sunset over that pond water. I’ve mostly worn pink and champagne colors with my neutral skin tone, but I’m definitely going to explore Gabi’s advice for green-eyed girls. Thanks Gabi. This is so helpful.
You may have my eye color which is rare, called central heterochromia eyes. Because it is rare, no one speaks to them. It is where the color of the Iris is a different color around the pupil than the rest of the Iris. In my case, the general Iris is blue with a gold ring around the pupil which causes them to look blue-green. I used to call them hazel too because there is no other option for my drivers license, etc. But hazel eyes are really more of a soft brownish green with gold flecks. I feel my eye color is lucky as they change color depending on mood and what I am wearing. Blue brings out blue, green=green. When I wear teal or turquoise my eyes reflect those hues and get the most compliments. Because they change colors, I base my eyeshadow shades to emphasize the color I want to bring out in my eyes that day.
Gabby thank you so very much!! When you put out a request your viewers as to what we really wanted to see and get guidance on ( right before your collaboration few days in Austin) I really put a lot of thought into my answers…and this was one!!!! In fact, in one form or another, perhaps even with you/another creator together, I think you’ve covered most, if not all! I’m so impressed!!! And grateful! I’m serious about my creative passion and really carefully watch and listen to learn all I can. I’m a long time nurse educator, and twice your age at least, but I recognize in a heartbeat good teachers, and girl, you are EXCELLENT! ( and so dang talented, a beautiful woman, and fun!) Thank you. I appreciate you. ❤️
This was great as it usually said that brown eyes can wear any color but I usually feel better with the tans and shades of brown. Now that I have white hair I had to change most of my makeup so I don’t look washed out. Thanks😊
I really enjoy your videos, especially those that feature mature women. I have brown eyes that lean a bit towards hazel. I find that brown and taupe shadows make me look washed and tired, totally unflattering. However, as an older woman, I cannot get away with the Smokey eye I have always loved, so I use a muted taupe or rust, or even a soft blue or purple shadow, and then line my eyes with either a beautiful blue, teal or violet liner and soften it with the same color eyeshadow over the liner. I’d love to see you demonstrate something similar with more mature ladies. 😊
A couple shades that make my eyes stand out (as a person with brown eyes) is red and deep purple eyeshadow. In general, I feel that brown is a neutral, so having brown skin and brown eyes, I can literally pull off any color, so I tend to be more adventurous.
Yep. I'm African-American and tan-complected with black eyes. Plum and brownish-pink. My friends advise me to wear earth-toned eye makeup but the purpose of makeup is to accentuate and flatter your coloring, not necessarily match it.
Yes, I agree. I have brown eyes, and I love using plum and aubergine. I hardly ever use an all brown look. I am in my 70s and use a bit of shimmer on my lids all the time.
@@trishac9516 My eyes are 100% pure black because my father is the Devil, and when combined with African-American DNA it tends to make your eyes black. Earth tones drab me out but eyeshadows in the plum or rose family add a soft feminine lilt.
@@trishac9516 I didn't mean to say my dad was literally Satan. My great-great-great grandpa, specifically, was the Devil. But consequently my eyes are eerily pitch black.
Hi Gabi! I’ve been watching your videos and subscribed to your channel a few months ago. You’re just amazing! So knowledgeable, compassionate and honest!!! You’re just real! And I love what you do and the person you are!!!! Thank you so much! I live in NY and wish i had someone who is as awesome as you are with hair and makeup!!! Please keep doing what you do!!! So appreciate you!!!!❤
great vid, Gabi. would love to see more 'analogous' or other pairings for blue eyes. last night I wore a pale pink& pewter outfit, and I didnt feel the matte orange/brown shadow combo did it justice. I pulled in a bit of pink above the crease, but would have liked more direction. I use the Naked Heat and Tarte Pro Palette most often. ty in advance!
I need to do demonstrations to show more techniques on different people of different eye colors. I hesitated to do makeup content because I was a hair channel for so long but I think it's time to expand now.
Thank you Gabi for the great video. I would love to watch more in-depth videos on colors and tones. I have blue eyes and am finding it hard to wear orange, peach, coppers, gold or rose gold in my everyday makeup. I am 59 and want to have a more natural look. Thank you.
@@jeanetteh.9240 Agreed. The suggestion is always to use coppers and peaches on blue eyes, but that really only looks good on warm-toned people with blue eyes.
I love this video!!!!!!! Do more of these! I have cool tones, blue eyes and blonde hair. I’m still learning! I never use silver and grey! I’m gonna try it!
I have grey eyes ( as well as neutral-toned fairest ivory skin) and would love to know more about which colours might work with my eyes! I've found shadows to be very hit and miss for me.
Other commenters suggest pinks, maybe that could work? Depending on your skin tone, you might need to use purples. Purples show better on darker skin tones then lighter ones. Purple could also work for fair skin.
Yes Gabi....this is so helpful, so please do more. Love this. My eye color is the same color as (one of your models)Jocelyn's, and now I have her exact haircut thanks to you, so please, please, please, do more like this. Thanks again for sharing her hairstyle. I need to put up a new picture on RUclips because now, my hair looks so full. I love it Gabi ..❤️❤️❤️
I am so happy to hear that Donna!!! Jocelyn's eyes are absolutely STUNNING. Do you have white hair as well? If you do, you should try a silvery grey eyeliner.
Definitely learned something from this video. I have hazel eyes and naturally brunette hair, but is now more salt and pepper. I would love to see a video on how to apply eyeshadow to a deep set mature eye. I am 62 and struggle with my very deep set eyes. Think I am going to try purple!
Yay! I loved this. I have brown with gold flecks. I’m gonna try an emerald green shadow with maybe gold…not sure. But I’m definitely gonna try the emerald green. I don’t have a pretty blue shadow or I’d try that also. Thanks, as always, Gabi. 😊❤
My eyes are a blue-green-gray mix (still called hazel, but no brown at all) - and can change depending on what color I wear or how tired I am. Thoughts on what shadow colors I should wear?
I call mine mood eyes. People ask me what color my eyes are and I always say, “You tell me!” Birth certificate says blue but they can be blue, green, grey or combo of all! 😩🤪
My eyes are hazel. I agree purples are gorgeous with my eye color. I'm 53 and have been using purple shadows since I was 15. Compliments all the time! Great video, I subscribed! 😉
Loved this video. I have light brown eyes with gold & green flecks. I don't wear foundation or blush but I love smoking out my eyes for a night out! According to your video, I'm doing it right with the color palettes I chose! Tx from a brown eyed girl 👁️
My eyes are a stunning green color that gets compliments often. I always go with purples with my shadow, as I have cool skin tone, and the look is beautiful!
This video is fantastic! I have green/hazel eyes & have been experimenting with cobalt blue, plum & lavender, with great success. Would you consider doing a video on techniques to widen close set eyes? Many thanks!
Thank you for this video! I have green/blue eyes, everything depends on the light and my mood lol! Sometimes they are very blue and sometimes green and sometimes even grey, so weird! Copper looks good on my eyes, also green and purple and grey/silver. I can't never decide what is my skin tone cool or warm or neutral. What tips do you have to find it out?
Thanks for the awesome tips Gabi. I have hazel eyes which look gold in the summer. I only use eyeliner and I find that purple or violet, a soft gray, or a khaki-gold works best for me. Aslo a marine shade of blue.
I have green eyes and I love doing purple or copper eyeshadow! I also do brown smokey eyes as well. I love making my green eyes stand out. This video was great
Green Eyed Mama here, and I'm going straight from here to buy a multi-Purple palette and also a gold/copper palette. Can't wait to experiment! I don't typically use colored shadows because my eyes are also a bit deep set and hooded so I usually just use am iridescent white (but the iridescence in it IS a kind of purplish) highlighter on my water line, a little right above my lash line and also under my brows to brighten/highlight, but I think it'll be a nice change of pace to experiment with some more color!
I love this video, and agree with everything you say here! That said, I seem to be the impossible case (and I say that as a graduate of Makeup Designory and a former MUA for Trish McEvoy). I have very, very fair cool toned skin, with warm golden freckles. I use neutral foundation, which seems to work well enough, and I have dark enough hereditary undereye circles to need a peach corrector. My eyes are also in that fun, in-between range of pale aqua-- not quite blue and not quite green. Greys & blues look terrible on me (not great with golden freckles, and make my eyes look greener), and I have yet to find a copper that I love either (too orange against pinkish skin). Golden browns cannot be found without a ton of sparkle (which I don't need, being months from turning 50)... I generally go with a light champagne lid and contour with taupe, line with dark brown or black. It is serviceble enough of a look, I suppose, but not very exciting. Any ideas?
I love to wear purple eyeshadow on my grayish blue eyes. I will try the gray and silver soon, though. Also, I saw a pic of an orange faded to purple that you showed and it looked lovely!! Gotta try it! I recently discovered how much I loved orange eyeshadow and was so surprised, I hated the decade that reds were in vogue, as they make me look ill, and I thought orange would as well, but I was wrong! I can wear browns, but they don't wow or impress, and blues compete too much.
Great video again!!! I have always gravitated towards purple and pinky shadows and now I know why, my hazel eyes. My Better Not Younger order just came in, can't wait to try it!
I so love your channel and you have the best tips. I have green/hazel eyes and i always gets lots of compliments when I use teal eyeshadow. Purple not so much. Thank you Gabi
Thank you so much Jan for commenting and for leaving such nice feedback. If you are wearing something and everyone is noticing it, it's for a reason. Definitley keep doing what you're doing and when you feel like it, play a little to experiment with more looks. There is a whole world of possibilities that open up when you take the time to experiment with new things.
I'm a redhead with some green in my eyes so I like to bring it out with purple, and yes, I get way more comments on my eyes when I wear a tiny bit of purple over my basic neutrals - taupe "charcoal" MAC and "brun" MAC. It's hard to find decent purples though! Many of them look like Barney, especially the high end ones! I like Revlon colorstay because they aren't frosted or too red, they're more lavender to amethyst.
Hi Gabi! I'm new to your channel and love your content! I gave up news for beauty videos, and I'm much happier. I would love a video on complimentary lip colors to go with these eye looks. Just an idea. I hope you have the best day!
Thank you very much for so interesting video! I have green eyes, neutral skin tone and dark brown hair. My favorite colors of eyeshadows are lilac, yellowish green shimmer, water colors with green undertone, combination of coffee and silver eyeshadows.
I have hazel eyes too and I struggle to showcase them for a day to day look. There isn't much out there showcasing hazel eyes and addressing which colours work best with specific skin tones. I would love to see more videos on hazel eyes especially for the mature woman. I'm now in my 50's.
Green eyes with brown flecks. I prefer warm neutrals. Purple shadow does look very pretty, but I have a warm skin tone and it can be tricky to pull off. Loved this video
I have green/hazel eyes. What I have noticed, what works for me are shades of copper and purple or maybe gold. Also green works too- deep emerald green, but thats not for daily wear.
Another beautiful video You explain so well I have green , hazel eyes and I do wear purple eyeliners etc It's perfect Thanks for another great video I even put pink blush on my lids sometimes it's fabulous
When I started growing in my natural hair color, I found out I needed to change my entire makeup routine. I’ve nailed down the blush, bronzer, lip. Now I’m figuring out the eyes. Trying absolutely EVERYTHING! It’s been a lot of fun. With cool hair, skin, and blue eyes, I’d say my best looks are blue/gray/silver and orange leaning shimmery golds. Which makes sense now! I do also like a warm brown with a pop of colored shadow as liner. I also have a shifty duochrome pink to green that is fun! And to that person that preaches ‘don’t put glitter on old lids’ I disagree! The texture blurs the texture I think.
I agree with you that you should do WHATEVER works for you. Makeup is an art and there are literally no rules. If you try something and think "WOAH this looks great" then it looks great! We shouldn't limit our artistic creativity because of unnecessary rules that were made up in the first place. My mom LOVES shimmer and she is in her mid 60s.
Just the video I needed to help me get back to my love for makeup. Thank you! I have green eyes that depending on what I wear sometimes turn light green with gray and a light tint of gold or light green with lots of gold or dark green with some gold. Idk if I should consider the color gold, I guess yellow coming out of the pupil. Before my teen years my eyes used to turn green to blue then in my teen years they were green to hazel. I loved my hazel era😩 I’m excited to start experimenting with my eyeshadow again💕
Thank you Gabby hon! I am 52 yo and have dark brown eyes (dark tan Asian skin). I have a trad'l style and could never figure out the right eyeshadow/liner colors to complement them. I found brown neutral palettes to be drab and disappear into my skin. I love navy on my eyes and will try a deep green
That's an awesome presentation on eye colour & eyeshadow Gabi 💜 I have dark brown eyes and my everyday go-to look is a wash of soft pink or coral tones with milky brown eyeliner and clear or dark brown mascara. I guess that's more the natural look I prefer. But I'd definitely want to try the gorg blue eyeshadow or liner💙 for a special date🌹thank u
Gabi, Your videos are my favorite beauty tips online! I just watched your Secret to Making Eye Color Pop and don't know what shadow colors look best on my Grey Eyes with gold flecks. I have a Neutral skin tone(not pink at all) and Medium Auburn hair. Thank you!
Wonderful information as always! Please talk about being allergic to purple and red on the eyelids. You guessed it! I walk out from getting my makeup done only to get home with swollen eyes and just plain pain. The worst part is it takes a couple of days to look normal. Please comment ❤
This is a very common allergy! Red pigment, for some reason, can really irritate certain people! I’m sorry that happened to you. That must have been terrible.
I have ice blue eyes with a dark blue ring around them. I agree with you on the color and contrast for eyeshadows. I have a cool complexion and never wear any shade of blue eyeshadow, my eyes disappear. I used navy eye pencil sometimes. I’m trying to find a lavender eyeshadow to try. Great video content.
Wow - I remember a teen star from the 1980s named Brian Bloom. His eyes were exactly like your description- and in contrast with his dark hair - it was the first time I’d ever seen that loon just couldn’t stop staring at them. I bet that must be unnerving if everyone reacts. Like that! HAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHA
@@lynntolleson6688 yes as a teenager it kind of freaked me out because people I didn’t know would come right up to my face to look at me 😂I lived in NYC .

So glad you did this one Gabri! I have very green eyes and find that burgundy, shades of brown and purple really make them pop.A touch of brownish purple sparkle shadow on the center of the lid for evening look is amazing!
Great video Gabi! So helpful. With my silver hair and blue eyes I do use silver's and grey a lot with the lashes darkened. I can't use the oranges with my way cool undertone but I do like brown's too. Sometimes I do use blue but a different shade than my eyes and it does make them pop. It's all about how it is applied too. Your content is really good. xxoo
I have a unique situation as my left eye is more hazel - brownish green while my right eye is more of a golden brown, so it’s quite a challenge to find the correct color combination. I love watching your videos! You are a beautiful person inside and out. I am 58, so trying to do the less is more look.
I so appreciate you and your advice with hair and makeup. I am over 50 and I have told many of my friends and family about your you tube. Thank you so much for your refreshing ideas for hair and makeup for our age group also.
Love this! My eye color is difficult, lol. Like a dark hazel brown. Brown indoors, but flecks of green and gold outdoors. What I have found that works pretty well for me, are browns paired with shimmery rose toned gold. The slight pinkish tone I feel compliments the green, and also my fairer skin. That’s all I got so far though! 😆
Me too! But I have a light Hazel brown. Light Brown inside , gold with green in sunlight. I use Rose gold shimmer as a topper (Charlotte Tilbury Rosegold cream shadow). I would never think the rose would work but it does
Mine is similar. Its hard for me because my hair is auburn (warm) and eyes are warm, but my skin is fair and cool, but with sprinkling of warm toned freckles. So what compliments my hair and eyes doesnt really go right with my skintone.
@Beth101 My hair is a warm chocolate red and my skin is fair also. Complete contrasts so I tend to look for more neutral tones that aren't too warm or too cool. It's tough yeah
My eyes sound so similar to yours! except they’re a lighter hazel brown. I absolutely adore Too Faced Sunset Strip palette. The light and medium brown shades just do something magical for the gold in my eyes. And for a more dramatic look, the burgundy browns look stunning and really pull out the green in my eyes. I get compliments all the time when wearing this palette. I think it would look stunning on you! 😘
Fabulous! Your are fantastic in explaining very detailed, why and how. So nice to learn from you. Brava! And you look so beautiful and elegant. Thank you from Lisboa, Portugal. 🙂

And next to brown this is the largest group and I ask the same question
Mine are brown with dark rim on the outsides. I personally struggle doing my eye makeup as I've gotten older (issues with eyesight & botched carpal tunnel surgery), but I've never really made them up much. I prefer liquid liner for my eyeshape and shades of neutrals, rose, and browns. I'd love getting a professional makeup artist to help me, so gleaning from your knowledge is a 🎁 ! Thank you, Gabi.
The best colour on brown eyes for a pop is a red toned purple. In my opinion blue looks super artificial and green looks better on green eyes.
Ooh I love flourite. U have good taste.🥰
I have same color eyes. Plums and purples have always made my eyes stand out😊
Ahh, that's such a beautiful stone.
Ty! I just posted a question regarding this color eyes.

Brighten your smile with love...
Work a day in your life...
So does MY handsome husband
I used to do makeovers. I had an Hazel green eyed client once that wanted the eyes to shine, and every thing else pretty neutral. I applied a soft baby pink for the eyeshadow, with a hint of gold and chocolate brown eyeliner. Everyone said they had never noticed how big & pretty her eyes were!☺️☺️I was so surprised but happy she loved it and apparently was a show stopper! Great color suggestions, by the way! And I absolutely love learning about Color theory!!👍🏽👍🏽🤗🤗
What will make black eyes pop? (Fair Olive skin and jet black hair)
I always look forward to your videos !
Love this look, so natural !
Thank you!
I have grey-blue eyes and my fave shades are: taupe brown/mushroom, chocolate brown, smokey charcoal grey, champagne gold or icy silver, baby pink, barbie/peach pink, bronze/copper, khaki green, turquoise blue, lavender/lilac, red bean paste burgundy (brownish burgundy), ashy grey purples, teal blue/green. Glittery/shimmery eyeshadows are stunning.
@@MK-cc5ve and red is actually one of the big complementary colors to blue 😂
I have brown eyes and do use all the colors you mention but I also use deep purple , mauve shades and always get complements on that color too.
Very natural, love it.
i have green / hazel eyes with a cool fair skintone and metalics look good on me and blues , pinks, purple and orange x
Color me beautiful was a HUGE thing back then!
I think its because hazel eyes are so diverse - I reckon you just have to look at the main colours in your eyes and go with it. My dad and SIL have hazel eyes that are very green based and my BF has hazel eyes that are very grey based. I love hazel eyes, they're always pretty and interesting.
I love your teeth.
I have hazel eyes. I notice that I get the most compliments when I wear maroon on the outer corner with gold on the lid which makes total sense with what you are saying! I also love wearing purple. Love this video!
I like comment your photo.
Loved you as a baby...
I have very dark brown/black hair and blue eyes, and I’ve always used brown/orange/gold shades on my eyes and most of the time it works out just fine(I did learn a lot about color in art school, and that has always been helpful)😊
I do ofcourse use other colors too if I feel like it,playing around with different colors and techniques is what will make you better at doing your own makeup😊
I love your partners.
This is great,thx Gabi.
Wow that is SUCH an interesting concept! I have never heard about that for hair but it absolutely makes sense! Thank you for sharing that!
Michele, same 1980's memory here! Gabi, it was totally a thing! So fun!
@@GlamGirlGabi yep. That lil tidbit stuck with me. If you should try this technique, let us know how it works for ya👍
(The guys were over the top, too)
P.S. didn't lip injections gain traction because of a role Barbara Hershey played in movie "Beaches" back then and she had filler put in for that part?

I have very dark brown eyes and I get tons of compliments whenever I apply purple eyeshadow 😊.
Smoky eye is definitely more stunning with light eyes! I love the color theory, too.
The freckles look so cute...
Try silver and grey on blue eyes.
Absolutely love this video.
Thank you so much for making this video! I would LOVE a more in-depth video on this. Would you consider doing a tutorial on each eye color? Please 😊

I like your video a lot.
I have dark brown eyes and since college I’ve worn gold eyeshadow and has been a staple for me ever since
Hi Gabi 😀, I have medium brown eyes with lighter brown/honey flecks in them.
I have the same eye color as you, with a bit of green mixed in with the gold tones! What mustardy yellow shadow do you use??
Where do you find a warm brown shadow with a plummy undertone?
I have green/blue eyes. I call them Hazel. No one ever, ever addresses this color and I am certain I am not the only person in the whole world that has this color. What about pink eye shadow?
The right pink could work but be careful cos many of the shades can make it look like you have an eye infection lol 😂
My daughter has blue green eyes. They remind me of a beautiful sea color. Like a sea foam blue green. They’re gorgeous.
Yup hazel green here too, purple, bronze/gold always makes them pop.
Blue & I never thought of myself as an orange eyeshadow type but now I'm going to have to try it tomorrow & see how it looks!
I have blue eyes and I love shades of peach and coral on them. 😊

Yes, this was perfectly straight to the point! Thank you!
I like your video very much.
Green girl here - thank you! Now I need a tutorial from you of how to apply the makeup!
I love your job.

Any ideas?
Excellent video, Gabi!! I have blue eyes and I do indeed wear orangey shades on my eyelids!
So detailed and beatifully made...
Great video again!!! I have always gravitated towards purple and pinky shadows and now I know why, my hazel eyes. My Better Not Younger order just came in, can't wait to try it!

Me too!
That’s such a great idea! Like the perfect nude lip color for brown eyes????
I'd say the best nude lip colour for you has much more to do with your skin- & lip tones than with your eye colour.
Great work is love...
For hazel eyes, try burgundy tones. I get tons of compliments when I wear that.
Green eyes with brown flecks. I prefer warm neutrals. Purple shadow does look very pretty, but I have a warm skin tone and it can be tricky to pull off. Loved this video
They are sooo interesting...
Thank you for shedding light on eye shadows! You look absolutely gorgeous in this video by the way!
Yes, yes, absolutely please keep.
Green eyes with lighter purple because of cool undertones works great for me. Going further into why it works would be great!
I have green/hazel eyes. What I have noticed, what works for me are shades of copper and purple or maybe gold. Also green works too- deep emerald green, but thats not for daily wear.
Yes beautiful! I love that you are playing with the colors
Another beautiful video
You explain so well
I have green , hazel eyes and I do wear purple eyeliners etc
It's perfect
Thanks for another great video
I even put pink blush on my lids sometimes it's fabulous
I have green eyes with gold flecks and a dark blue rim…I used Rockstar liner by Urban Decay. Love using purples, mauves and pinks.
Besties love...
I have hazel eyes. Thanks for the tips. Can’t wait to try green and purple. I usually just stick with browns.
I love your comments...
I have green eyes with gold specks. Copper and gold really makes my eyes pop. Thank you for the video 😊
Great work as ever.
Thank you!
I am a Subscriber and still hoping for some tips!! Thanks!!
Very common to have a allergic reaction to the red dyes used to create the purple, burgundy etc., looks.
Finally someone explained this for brown eyes!!!! Great video
I would love to see you continue.
@@lynntolleson6688 yes that’s what my eyes look like 👍🏼
@@ingrid2543 wow. Laughing. Ok that would freak me out!!!
Phenomenal video!!! Learned so much, Gabi, muito obrigada!!
OK... so now I know why I couldn't pull off the cobalt blue or bright green eyeliner look - it just looked TERRIBLE with by gray-blue eyes. Love all, ALL of your advice on wavy hair and make-overs of mature ladies. Would love a "you can do it" tutorial for an easy look for each eye color. Ciao from Italy! L P.S. Cut my long hair into a LOB on your advice and love how much fuller my hair looks and also the natural waves appear with much less effort.
Yes grey eyes. I have them too. Cool grey/blue.
So glad you did this one Gabri! I have very green eyes and find that burgundy, shades of brown and purple really make them pop.A touch of brownish purple sparkle shadow on the center of the lid for evening look is amazing!
I also have green eyes and find burgundy and browns make the green really pop!
Take what's best for each and mix it, then apply on both.
Green eyes here! Love getting these hints and tips!
Yes, please do continue this series.
I so appreciate you and your advice with hair and makeup. I am over 50 and I have told many of my friends and family about your you tube. Thank you so much for your refreshing ideas for hair and makeup for our age group also.
Amazing. Really helpful and good.
It sounds like your doing all of the right things and your eye color sounds absolutely STUNNING.
