The only way to detect a fake is how they feel/weigh, the analog / triggers and 100% sure only by looking at the motherboard and battery. None of this is possible without opening the box.

Thanks a lot! This video just saved me from buying a fake one. And the funny thing is that the serial number is different just by one number from yours 😂😂😂 they are way too lazy to make random serials
My V1 controller has “Sony Computer Entertainment Inc” does it mean that it’s a fake? I can play games like cod just fine with it. whereas my V2 controller says “Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc” and brand new, no defects, in which my first brand new one had a defect and I had to get it exchanged, I was finally satisfied. my v1 will eventually get replaced when I get enough $ to get another v2.
Such a great video, we need more videos like yours with all region packages. Never knew (till now ofc) there is actually a genuine middle east package, all sold here, with that red mark down-left are fakes. Same thing with the asian package (the small box), i am pretty sure design is copied from genuine one, but all that are selling here in eu are fakes too. I can spot the fake one from all the different 5-6 box versions here, but for other regions its hard :) Thanks for the video again, idk why i saw it so late.
You missed that the Sony logo is bolder on the front of the box of the fake controller. And “DualShock 4 Wireless Controller” is less bold on the top of the box.
Bro , you got something wrong , the analog sticks , it doesn't matter how to sound is , because Sony have business with APLS company , and all of the analog sticks are not exactly the same , for example the first controller analog have quite sound , but the second one have little bit louder sound , they both are genuine , you cant make this thing for a way to detect a fake controller , but a thing is if your analog stick have very very loud sound when click it like it contains nothing inside of it , you feel emptiness in it , this thing is in unormal, it's must be a fake controller ,
I feel so bad, I asked for a new controller for Christmas and I was given a fake and I don’t want to tell my mum because it was her money and it was a lot of it😭 and idk what to do now
I think I got a fake one because the plastic like you mentioned doesn’t look legit BUT it has everything from the real one when it comes to the back sticker and the box and the sound of it. So I’m really confused 😂
The Logo being in front or after EAC doesn't determine a fake or not I believe. I just got a legit controller with the logo after EAC, its location being at the bottom left of the sticker. Only the serial number printout is bold, the rest of the text on the sticker is faint just like in your video. Also my controller was meant for UK, EU and turkey so it has UKCA on the sticker too. It has the 1-7-1 konan Minato-ku Tokyo, 108-0075 Japan as well. So i guess the sticker at the back varies depending on region or year of manufacture. I would also like to point out some differences in the packaging i got: the front of the box had dualshock 4 centralised on the blue part in different languages and the colour of the controller written on the bottom right. The back had very similar features to yours, most notably, the highlight for the share button was clearly visible button but the year of the box carried 2021 which was written on the bottom alongside other text. Wish sony can just make determining their originals easier by staying consistent with their packaging and stickers.
Just bought a controller from CEX and it's absolutely identical to your real one, like down to the last detail apart from it has the 001 underneath that little leaf logo, but it's in grey font. Everything else matches, do you think I've just bought the best fake ever or do think it's real?
More ways to tell also are the screws. The original screws are ph00 which are longer than fake ph1 which are shorter. Unplug your ps4. Turn on your controller. You should be having a bright white light while it searches for you ps4 not the turquoise you get on fake boards. If you're confident enough to open the controller we'll see more fake parts. The battery is a give away. Instead of the grey plastic 800mAh battery. Fake have 600mAh battery written on them and have this foil like material covering the battery. If you have removed the motherboard at the front you see a blue button switch, this is fake, it should be grey. Motherboard name should be JDM-040 or JDM-055 anything else is fake. Hope that helps
You must've been confusing both controllers. It's impossible that the right controller is the genuine one and that the left one is the fake one, because the square button is not centered on the right controller, something Sony would NEVER do. So the genuine controller have to be the left one.
@@abdulwarrior bro is there any way to fix that my mom got me two fake ps4 controllers online and i cant aim on call of duty. She doesn’t know about whats fake and real and I don’t have the money to get a new one

The light on the back of the controller looks just like the official controller, but the sticks and D-pad are different. You unfortunately can't really tell by looking, but the rubber on the sticks is slightly more firm and they do click a tad louder when pressed down. As for the D-Pad, it feels a little stiffer then an official. Lastly, if you put the console into rest mode with the charging cable plugged in to the controller, it will not stay in rest mode!
