3:08 Finally someone said it. Your son is very perceptive because almost all the fake vs legit that I've seen only discuss about the physical appearance and not mention the quality of the audio. These fake controllers uses bad audio chip and they produce terrible sounds it's a huge deal breaker to me so I just bought another legit controller.
I bought a rose gold one, just before Christmas… Paid 50 bucks for it at a pawnshop… Seem to work pretty good, but it just felt a little weird and the one stick sometimes drift and then went back to normal… I don’t use the new rose gold one too often, I usually use it on my PC… Just last week after the new PS4 update, my regular controller needed to be charged, so I decided to use the Rose gold… It must’ve been with the new PS4 update last week or so, because my PS4 literally told me in the upper left corner of my TV screen that my controller was not genuine… And then everything described in this video points that my rose gold one is not genuine… It also weighs 194 g instead of a 220 g
Ive had the exact same experience with x2 ps4 controllers really cool looking ones I bought 2 years ago I really didn't think they was fake they absolutely look and feel the part but battery life was absolutely terrible right joy wasn't accurate enough on shoot up games and very now again a icon popped up I'm top left corner on the screen would say not a official ps4 product I've literally took them back too the shop I bought them from and demanded a refund even its being two later 😅 its crazy how good these fakes are getting scary bad
@@joethompson7687the problem not the fact that it's fake but with buying a fake one at the cost of a genuine, i have two fake v1/v2 ps4 controllers and they had been working properly for 4 years, i did not even noticed a difference when i bought a genuine, and from now one i'm only buying fakes cause they're cheaper and the quality is not bad.
Lighter because the batteries are different , the fake ones have a 600mah (BAG) battery that is not like the real sony battery that is 800mah, and is encased in gray plastic
I think i have seen the Sony logo so often i immediately saw the font in top left is off when you showed the box + the printing om the back is too dark. I have seen so many of these boxes on second hand site claiming new and unboxed and everytime i saw this weird sony font. The letter are like a millimeter more apart.
You should start a channel making videos about telling the difference between the fake items and real items, I think you would be able to grow a channel and make alot of money doing it
I have a red one that I suspect is fake, really hard to notice. I got curious because I had gotten a PS4 from a pawn shop and it came with that controller, but the sticks don’t work in certain rotations.
Thank you so much, I recently bought a ps4 controller and suspected it was fake as I used to have an original controller before the 2016 version was made.I thought there wasn't a ps4 controller 2.0 and I looked at it and watched the video and now realise it was real.
Does the genuine box have a transparent seal at the back top? I just bought a new white CUH-ZCT2E from flea market here which box is same to your left one.
Another way to spot the difference between original and fake is: original controller Led light blinks at exactly 30times, while fake controller Led light blinks way beyond 30times going to 50times...
I honestly dislike the individuals who are responsible for producing fake controllers. The damn controllers don't even work well 99.9% of the time. It's actually just better to try to buy a real controller even if you have to pay the full default price.
I got duped by one of these recently. They "fixed" the Netherlands flag not appearing, but the print is still very poor quality. That on top of the cable and a protective sticker on the touch-pad... I didn't even need to open the box. No more brand new controller buying for me. I would rather buy original used and fix them myself.
If you want that, then is best to play games that dont use much the sticks and wired with cable. I pick a fake one and testing on the PC the stick is really bad and the same for bluetooth connection.
The cherry on top for this video, would be. Where are reputable stores that sell PlayStation controllers.

If this is what's happening with the sticks, it's a fake.

Does it work good as of the Original? Except the Battery, There's a Remedy for that
Dude very good video do some more was just to get a new controller thanks

Are those ver 1 or the ver 2 ?
Great job.
Hey bro...
Can it happen that in an original control you can see the light through the casing on the back...??🤔
No
Fake:
SonyComputerEntertainment
Real:
SonyInteractiveEntertainment
I wonder if DualShock 4 controllers had Sony Computer Entertainment on pre-2016 controllers given they changed their name to SIE in 2016

Easy tell tell. If it comes with a cord adaptor then it's 100% fake. The real controllers never came with usb cables.

@@daddymcg-basicfacts589 no to buy the fake controllers
Best reason to buy fake ps4 controller 🎮 cause you don't have use the real one and wear it out to the put of stick drift
