To be honest we do have some earlier peace deals/treaties to cover that would be interesting. 1. An alternative end of the 30 years War. 2. An alternative colonization of the new world (not a singular treaty, but would be fun to have viewers vote on initial colonies in the new world). 3. Could we maybe see a situation where capitalism and democracy is seen in the same light as communism (failed ideology) is today? That would be interesting
Interesting video. I've been bingeing your channel recently and I'm thankful for all the content. It's a fun thought experiment - but out of all times there could have been a WW3 between Soviet and the US - right after WW2 would have been the absolute worst for the communist bloc. It's unthinkable really, that an utterly spent Russia would wage an offensive war against the richest and mightiest alliance of all time - with nuclear weapons ready. The people mostly worshipped Stalin, and Russian morale was extraordinary in their existential struggle against the nazis - but for a territorial land-grab, I think the Russian people would be near the breaking point... They'd not perform very well in this war at all. But this is so difficult without knowing what the actual peace conference was like. (Having seen the catastrophe that was the Nazi invasion of Russia, I'm sure NATO wouldn't be so eager either 😅)
You're missing a critical event that happened in our world and would have been even more severe in this one: the Soviets uprooting what little industrial equipment that remained in eastern Europe and transporting it back to the USSR. A Soviet Union that was told it had to return to 1938 borders wouldn't stop there. They would rip up the rail lines just for the scrap metal. The Poland, Czechoslovakia, Baltic states, and Prussia created here would be plunged in to a catastrophic famine with no way to transport the meagre food they do produce. Stalin wanted to reduce Germany to a nation of subsistence farmers. His withdrawing army would guarantee it.
I have no idea where you got the statement that stalin genuinely wanted to reduce germany to a nation of subsistence farmers when a lot of his post-war efforts were spent propping east germany up to be a powerful bulwark against the west

I think that North Italy cut off from direct Soviet control could try to retain neutrality a key word could. This is because although the PCI had strong Stalinist links to first win the election for Italy and then stabilize the entirety of North Italy especially parts such as Piedmont and Venice they would have be viewed as more democratic and progressive, thus cutting their Stalinist ties in the process.

To be honest we do have some earlier peace deals/treaties to cover that would be interesting.
1. An alternative end of the 30 years War.
2. An alternative colonization of the new world (not a singular treaty, but would be fun to have viewers vote on initial colonies in the new world).
3. An alternative end to the American Revolution (what lands do Spain and France gain, do the states unite or become separate nations)
"Stalin was removed from life"
That got me
Could we maybe see a situation where capitalism and democracy is seen in the same light as communism (failed ideology) is today? That would be interesting
he had a video "how Soviets could have won the cold war", this is pretty much it
Finally! I got to vote on this one it was super cool!
For the form i tried to give the Germany as much land as possible
0:44 "before the war" Kresy were taken during the war, not before the war
Before they were in the war ofc
I hope this WWI poll comes out just as cursed as the WWII poll did
Woo! Good video. Took a while.
Can’t believe you took away big Mongolia.
It's for the best. Now they're not majority Han Chinese.
he should make a separate video on what would happen in India and Indonesia
Stalin was removed from life
Once again, a American W.
Now we have to vote on the results of the 30 years war.
I have never wanted to die so much because of a map in my entire life until now.
13:19 hungary romania looks like something the viewers voted on ngl
Frankly speaking, Poland should lose less land because Poland's borders were created when the Soviets resettled the population.
Really interesting video
I want to see a second part of this alternate world!
There isn't much more of a second part to have when the US can just nuke anything that becomes a problem, and using nukes tactically has a precedent, and the Monarchies eventually go the way of GB.
ALMOST 100K WHOO
"Stalin was removed from life" is fucking hilarious
good video been waiting for a while
I vote on this peace Deal ,but damn are crowds stupid. Just look how you more or less had to make Stalin a Fan of free self determination.
I think it would be more believable If Stalin just had a stroke for the entirety of the first peace Deal.
Or stalin dies before the negotiations, and a different soviet premier does the negotitiations
I don’t think people are stupid for this. They didn’t vote with the idea that they were going for a sustainable or safe option, people did that vote for an absurd and fun scenario to watch play out
@@austingole4861the entire ww2 peace deal looked Like an elaborate ass Pull for Russia and china, and the idea of ww3 aint really fu if you get deeper than the map painting stage
I think it would be cool if you ranked how much we ruined each timeline
Nice Idea for a what if: What If an Native American Confederation was succesful in defending itself and persisted.
been waiting for this
We’re so back
“After time, Stalin was removed from life”😂😂😂
Poland not having sea access in the end hurts
Being landlocked never stopped the Swiss from prospering, and Austria's doing good today. It's not a death sentence for the Polish.
I can’t wait for the WW1 video. That’s gonna be spicy.
Good Job
7:30 it would make sense for them to dislike the Soviets for nuking a civilian city, especially the biggest in Europe. but the nuke would actually do a pretty good job to make other nations stay the hell away from both sides.
OKAY OKAY EVERYTHING ABOUT THE MACARTHUR CHINA NUKES ARE DEFINETLY FROM "What if Macarthur became president in 1946?" But I am actually happy because I liked that video, so I am VERY happy!
7:13 but their nukes in Japan were targeted at civilians with no problems. And irl nothing followed.
That was at the end of WW2, civilian centres had long been targeted before Hiroshima/Nagasaki. He's saying in this hypothetical WW3, that attack on Paris would've been the first targeted attack on civilians.
Hiroshima and Nagasaki had significant military industry facilities located there, Kyoto was also on the short list, but was rejected for it's cultural and religious significance to the Japanese people.
I don't think there are any military factories in or around Paris.
@@K9TheFirst1 you know that you have to man the industry? So it's naturally located close to urban areas. Using conventional bombs on them is totally legitimate military strategy. Using nukes (their power was known after testing) is not.
Japan was a power people hated as they started the war they got nuked in.
France was part of a defensive alliance that got attacked
Alternate title:WW3 speedrun
How is this our fault *whispers to self* “well it’s kind a obvious” *says out loud* you guys keep inviting us back. 😊
Love your content man! Idea: What if franz ferdinand survives and became Emperor?
I think that North Italy cut off from direct Soviet control could try to retain neutrality a key word could.
This is because although the PCI had strong Stalinist links to first win the election for Italy and then stabilize the entirety of North Italy especially parts such as Piedmont and Venice they would have be viewed as more democratic and progressive, thus cutting their Stalinist ties in the process.
It sounds like North Italy did try for neutrality in this timeline. He says that they got pulled into the conflict after a riot escalated. Basically, North Italy cracked down too hard on anti-communist elements and got a target on their back for it.
What if it was Soviet Union instead of Germany that started WW2?
"realising he wouldnt win in a long war and desperate to secure a peace deal" ah yes, so stalin-like
What a horrible world
What if everything went right for the third French Republic (or the second empire)
Blessed timeline🙌🏼
I guess it could be worse…
Also, Pax Americana!
Poland: Is on the winner's side
Also poland: Loses land
Makes sense 👍
That land was underdeveloped and not even ethnically Polish for the most part.
Romania: First Time?
