@@roastedturtle0820they had some reason to support Serbia , but just over the fact they were unofficially recognised as the protector of the Balkans , they declared war and brought their ally France in.
Well, that's interesting actually. Pre-WW1 Russia was definitely one of the more bellicose nations in Europe pre-WW1. Christopher Clarke in his book The Sleepwalkers gives a lot of credence to Poincaré's visits to Russia, and how the Franco-Russian alliance was, in the eyes of the Russians at least, changed from a purely defensive one to an offensive one in 1912-1914. The Russians, eager for expansion in the Balkans, also interpreted his rhetoric as French approval of its mobilization, and Russian mobilization and general Russophobia then quickly led to escalations in Germany and Austria. However, it was the Austrians who sent the one-sided ultimatum to Serbia which was more-or-less an excuse to go to war with them, and they did that because of perceived German support, with Wilhelm II especially bearing a personal responsibility with all his weird, ignorant, war-mongering rhetoric. Now, that isn't to say Germany didn't cause World War 1, but it wasn't solely responsible as the Entente later claimed. Some part of the blame also rests with the Austrians, Russians, and French, and even the Serbians themselves, who were far from the innocent little helpless country they are sometimes assumed to be. They were staunchly nationalist, proto-fascist even, and there is plenty of evidence that the Austrian claims that the government backed the terrorist Black Hand were true. Even the passive and wishy-washy, vague foreign policy of Edward Gray in the UK bears some responsibility: both Germany and France acted on what they wanted to hear, Germany thinking the UK would almost certainly stay neutral and France thinking it would almost certainly give full support from day one. As usual, who caused WW1 is not a question with one answer. Each of the main powers bears at least some responsibility, and the systems of the early 20th century in the fields of diplomacy, culture, the views of the world as a struggle between nations or 'races' for supremacy, the opaque way of government leading to decision-making on foreign policy being in the hands of only a few, and the character and upbringing of those few are equally important. The inherent assumption that 'Britain', 'Germany' or 'Russia' were monolithic entities that made decisions as a whole is also wrong; individuals and groups within those countries caused the war. It's easy to be able to point to a clear aggressor and blame everything on them, like you can do for WW2, but the causes of WW1 are much more complex, and you could make an argument for any country and for dozens of individuals within each country as the 'cause' of WW1.
This is why you don't give a group of diplomats tons of alcohol and a very strict deadline. While the Vienna conference lasted long enough that if you got pregnant when it started you would have given birth before the end.

This all felt like a HOI4 peace conference held in EU4 lol
could you post your map templates? I'd love to do this with friends haha
Absolutely amazing one of the best RUclips formats
Can you please make a video about if Sablin’s revolution succeeded?
Do a follow up video about the consequences about this treaty
This was so good! Please make another one with the partition of Germany after WW2.
I love these treaty + Peace conference videos!!
I feel like this is what would happen if all the delegates were had the same mind set as Tsar Alexander.
Austrian Syria and the attempt at Austrian Iraq was absolutely hilarious
It's been 5 months and you haven't made a continuation video.
Could you do a video of what would have happened in the years following the treaty?
I don't think the great powers could even enforce that treaty
Wich program do you use for the map? I try map chart but there is not map of the '800 or before. What's the name of your's?
Ah... making peace treaties got to be one of my favorite videos styles
And the continent of the German Confederation lived in peace forever
Uk would have a heart artack after looking at the gaigantic Russia it would have to face in the Asian Game in Central Asia.
And the Austrian Diplomat definitely didn't learn anything from "Metternich" and now is Turkey😂
Are you gonna do a what happens now? Like if this happened what would have happened after? Even if just a quick video I’d love to see more about this truly messed up time line😂
The treaty is the most realistic 100%🔥🔥🔥
