I wish the guests walked around more realistically. They look the same as Planet Zoo. It would had felt like a bigger upgrade to see them walk around more interact with the environment more.
I feel the same, the game is apparently great, but the UI is kinda sketchy, the coasters menu is heavy, and the one for paths and pool creating have a hundred buttons
I agree with you, it's clearly console oriented which is sad for PC. When you try to satisfy several purposes, you end up with an average experience for both. Like winter and summer tires compared to all-seasons' ones...
@@Addicted5.4 well this was a pc first game, that's like making a new fps game for pc even tho it was known and made for console but this new one is now made fully for pc even the console has a pc feel
As a console player, I'm quite happy about the fact that the UI is similar to the first Planet Coaster game, gives it some familiarity, you know? Do understand the PC frustration. though, Frontier should have developed two seperate UIs 😭
At least pc players will have mod support, so someone can always create a mod for that suits their ui wants/needs. Not a perfect solution, but at least they will get options.
No it will Not have mod Support. Why should it? Even planco 1 did Not have mod Support. It Took the Moders Like 6 years to get through the Code and create some Kind of mods.
As someone who intends to purchase and play it on console, I'm super happy to see I won't have to wait for the game to be revamped for console players. Glad they are doing this right off the bat.

@@AlbrissAndWarin the console version of planet coaster sucks. I was watching a friend play it and seeing how it controls and how the UI is laid out I actually said having experience with the actual game if I had to play this way I’d kill myself. Trust me if you haven’t played the PC version, the console version is a complete downgrade. For them to go more in that direction is baffling. But really it makes no sense why they’d do this. This is the type of shit you’d expect from 2008, not 2024. Multi platform and even cross platform has worked great for years now. I really thought the era of ruining games for the sake of shit ass consoles was over but here we are.
@@AlbrissAndWarin it’s just baffling to me. This style of game is completely catered for mouse and keyboard. The franchise is a PC franchise and the console version is more of a novelty than anything else. Why would they actively choose to handicap their long awaited sequel for that? Why not just suggest console players hook up a mouse and keyboard for the best experience? As a PC player I don’t complain when I have to use a controller for games that work best with them like Red Dead or racing games etc. it also makes less sense when you consider the main planet coaster community on RUclips etc-who have kept the game going so strong over the years-are almost all on PC. Also it makes no sense why they couldn’t just do two UIs. A fully fledged UI and a handicapped UI for the controller. I guess it’s not that I’m against consoles, it’s that it makes no sense that a game clearly meant for mouse and keyboard (as almost all building/design games are) would cater more in the direction of controller and force M&KB users to adhere to that. It’s going to feel so sluggish. The solution isn’t to not have it on console, it’s just to have different UI. Or give console players the option to use mouse and keyboard in the same way that PCs can use controllers for certain games. Consoles can hook up keyboards and mice now. It would work fine.
The coaster menu really isnt that bad, also at the top of the menu you can choose a type of coaster, so if you want a mack launch coaster you can just click on the "launch" section and then scroll through the few coasters. Tbh I really like the new menus even as a PC player so
@@Rollercoaster_Madness I’m not saying the new one is unusable but it definitely takes longer to find the coaster type you’re looking for compared to the old menu where you just have all the thumbnails in front of you and you just click what you want.
@thrill_riders I mean tbh it'll probably be similar. The ond one I struggled sometimes to find something specific just because there's so many options so sometimes ur eyes scan over it. I think they have to change things aswell or people will just think the game is a copy paste with pools and a couple new coasters...
For me although the UI is annoying, I feel like after a while I might get used to it. My main issue is the stations, it’s the one thing they haven’t changed despite it being one of my least favourite parts of Planco 1
Will this not work at all on Windows 8.1? I never upgraded to 10 or 11. I guess if it needs Direct X 12 then it probably needs 10 or 11. And my graphics card is only 3 GB and I don't think it's an RTX. RTX supports ray tracing. You need a 6 GB card minimum and I have an i7 but an i7-10700 is recommended. 10th gen. Mine is an 8th gen, i7 8700. My current pc is from 2019. I might just get a new pc used on ebay with the recommended processor and graphics card in it and Win 10 or 11.
This gives me frightening thoughts of Windows 8. Trying to make something compatible for two very different platforms that doesn't end up great for either.
The PC user interface of planet coaster 1’s coaster menu could work on console, you would just use your arrow buttons to scroll up down, left and right to select the thumbnail you want
Enjoyed the video but I disagree about the coaster selector. The new interface is better because 1. It filters to the type of coaster first. 2. It gives relevant details that help you know about what you can do with the coaster instead of just a thumbnail. 3. Once you familiarize yourself with the names it's easier to find by name than thumbnail. The PC1 UI isn't even alphabetized in your example. I actually hated the small thumbnails in PC1 because they gave zero info and I'd just have to try every one to figure out what I could do with them. I also don't see anything about that screen that screams "console". It's easy enough to click with a mouse on the big buttons and scroll the list. It's literally the same actions as the old UI. I'm not saying there's no room for improvement or new ideas, but I definitely prefer this new menu. One last thing. The number of times in any given park that we start a new coaster from scratch is very low. Think about the amount of time in the game spent on the coaster selection screen vs. every other thing that we spend time doing in the game.
Im really dissapointed with the release version. I have so many ideas for great dark rides/coasters. Yet i find myself always looking at coasters ingame that dont support certain track pieces. Turntables locked to certain coaster types, launch tracks also locked to certain types and so on… this is starting to look ridiculous. How am i supposed to live out my creativity when the game keeps limiting my possibilites😢
I don’t believe I’ve actually seen/heard anyone playing PlanCo 2 on console. Every RUclipsr I’ve seen played on PC, so I’m not sure how the game is really like on console. I do get people’s frustration with the UI. For me, it looks familiar to what I’m used to and I didn’t mind scrolling down in PlanCo. After a while, I knew what’s what, especially since I watched ample footage of PC players before I ever got the game. I knew what kind of attractions were there (not flat rides, but I did mostly know all the coasters and track rides). And the labels will help find rides quicker. To switch between those is a nice L1 or R1 for me, but I understand those labels would be annoying on PC.
RUclipsrs have been way too quick to criticise. It's not released, we're seeing pre-release footage. You say it's not rage bait, but if your title is accurate to your opinion then you're ignorant. It should be "has a lot of development left", but you've called it "has a major issue" for clicks. Do you really think that this will still be an issue a reasonable amount of time after release? Hell no, they've gained the credit through listening to us, but you're not accepting that cos you want to complain. Console -> PC is ridiculously harder than PC -> console, people are just annoyed that it's not fully designed for their PC now. And what sort of criticism is a full page for management? I can't think of a management game that doesn't have a full page for stuff with that many options, imagine that in a scroll box in the corner. The valid criticism is it's very plain.
