Another great, thought-provoking video, Curtis. Thank you. I am a big Fr. Mike fan and follower. When I first saw this particular video awhile ago, I interpreted his message as a “when you know better, you do better” type of thing. As in, don’t be a lazy Christian without putting in the work in the steps he outlined. Those with no knowledge of God’s word but who have a good heart, are “given a pass”….. they actually “don’t know better, so can’t do better”. We are to pray for them and continue to strive ourselves to follow the teachings of Jesus as he has outlined. All that said, your sincere and respectful review of Fr. Mike’s message has me questioning my original interpretation and some of my own thought processes. And I thank you for that. Blessings to you and your Swedenborg colleagues.

Father Mike gives some wonderful sermons and my kids like to listen to him for church, but I have to preview them to avoid the ones with"angry father needs a blood sacrifice" or "non Christians are doomed" themes. But it's amazing how much inner meaning he is able to glean from the Bible without the help of Swedenborg 's explanations.

I went through a period of incredible guilt and fear about hell. To the point of not being able to function in my daily life. "How can people smile and greet each other cheerfully when they're families are likely going to HELL for eternity??" I seriously couldn't handle it. But deep down I knew it just couldn't be true and hell isn't what I was taught. I came out on the other side knowing everyone is going to be okay. This was 15 years ago. Man, I wish I had your videos then, or knew about Swedenborg. It would have saved me a lot of intense heartache. Thanks for all you do ❤️

I used to be Catholic, but I had to do a lot of mental gymnastics to make it try to make sense. It never did. The final straw that made me leave was discovering that the lead priest who was over our elementary school confessed to molesting at least two children. We saw this man at every mass and had to stand up out of respect when he came to visit our classroom. We were also instructed by the nuns to ask him to bless us before he left by raising our hands and to never speak to him unless he spoke to us. It came to light that his crimes were known by the diocese years ago, but the “memo was lost” and it was swept under the rug. It made me question the whole leadership of the Catholic Church and what they told us to believe with the threat of hell always present. They were the people with all of the wisdom and knowledge, but they didn’t seem to believe in any of the moral standards that they expected the laymen to adhere to completely. The hypocrisy was just to much for me. If other people want to be Catholic that is okay, but it is not for me. I believe in a loving God who is understanding and supportive.

I believe that bringing peace and kindness and happiness to others is living in God's kingdom and it brings his goodness to earth. We have a heavenly mindset and continue to strive for joy in each moment. God bless this as we live within his Spirit and have our being Heaven is a state of mind and heart. Thank you, Lord.

Thank you, Curtis, for these thoughtful and loving responses to different perspectives. They really help me see through a Swedenborg practitioner's lens.

It's funny how those of us who have a more open-minded approach to Christianity can follow what traditional Christians say up to a point. And then it's like 🤨... "How do people believe in this?!" The tendency for most Christians to gloss things over, as Curtis mentioned, is really problematic and I think is the main reason so many people are turned off to Christianity completely 😥.
    Excellent video, thank you!

    Hey Curtis,
Great video! I just finished the series “Hazbin Hotel” on prime. While definitely not family friendly, it kind of reminds me of Swedenborg’s teachings about redemption. You may want to check it out. Great work as always!

The good father also said you shouldn’t try to name your guardian angel because that means you’re trying to own him, which is ludicrous.
