4:01 Nailed it!!! Best explanation of the difference between "set" and "scale". Can't thank you enough! I have a channel with drone and travel videos. This will make my life easier.
thank you so much. I just finished my first travel vlog and spent ages resizing various clips along the timeline. This saves so much time for my next one.
Thanks for this post! Pulling my hair out working with people shooting stuff on iPhones, DSLRs, and a Sony pro video camera and not knowing what size to set for any of them, LOL! This solves all my scaling migraines!!
I already made a timeline with a mix of 1080 and 4k but I accidentally started with a 4k clip but now I want everything to be in 1080 with the 4k clips set to frame. How do make that change at this point?
Hello I am having issues . I recorded a video with my phone. Multiple clips some clips were taken vertcle and the others the phone was in landscape format. When I add them to my sequence the clips are all different sizes. How could I fix this issue?
Hello! Is there any chance to change size of multiple 2:3 images (footage) to fit the width of an 16:9 sequence? Setting to Frame Size fits them with edges on left and right. I need them fitted with no edges (They can have cropped some top and bottom). Could you help, please? :)
So is there no way to do it after? Some how it is setting up the frame size in portrait mode.. lol I dont want it to look like I edited it on my phone...
@@deviousvixen5592 By doing that beforehand it just saves time and sets to scale automatically. You can still do afterward just by selecting your clips, right clicking and scrolling to 'set to frame'.
Thanks for this. Can you tell me how to do this when I am making a multi camera source sequence. I’ve being going round in circles and cannot find a solution.
I have a bunch of videos that I need to put together, and some people, unfortunately, sent me their videos in a portrait dimension. How can I remedy this? and how can I creatively piece this montage together?
Hmm, portrait stuff is hard to deal with because there is no side by side of the video. So there is not data there that can be recovered. However, I have a tutorial here on that: ruclips.net/video/nA_IcXrhpEE/видео.html
One question, AdobeMasters, from a AdobeAmateur: is it possible to change the size of my project after I've created it? My sequence got somehow stuck in the size of the first video that I imported. So, the rest of the footage cannot get outside the 9:16 canva size I have. I need to make it: 16:9. I cannot change it in Project Settings. The program doesn't give me that option. Not even before starting a new project. Maybe, my version is not working properly. I also tried to change it when exporting, but without good results. I've been trying to google it, but same thing. This video is the closest to my query so far, that I've found. And a very good tutorial in every aspect!! Well done, and thanks for your help!!
Hey there, so to change this you would actually need to adjust the sequence settings. Go up to sequence->sequence settings.(Make sure you have the sequence selected by clicking on a "gray" area in the timeline with the sequence). From here you should be able to change the sizes around. Let me know if this works.
Hi AdobeMasters! Thank you for the video, I'm trying to incorporate some new 4k sequences into a larger reel that is 1080p. The thing is, I have already done some some resizing of certain clips in my to-be-incorporated sequences. Various cropping in and shifting/reframing. Now when I copy and paste those sequence's clips into my master 1080p "reel" sequence they are all zoomed in.... Is there any way to resize them all back down as you have shown with the "set to frame size" while retaining all of my intentional resizing? For instance I blew up a clip to 130% in my 4K sequence and shifted it a bit to the left. Now when I put it into the 1080 sequence line how do I get it to look the same as it did? Any tips/ideas/suggestions greatly appreciated. Thank you!

thank you so much. I just finished my first travel vlog and spent ages resizing various clips along the timeline. This saves so much time for my next one.
My video clip ratios are different. Black bands appear on top and bottom when resized
I'm switching from Filmora to Premier for my new vlog and this video was really helpful. Thank you.

What happen If you move all the clips onto the new sequence? Will the size of all the clips still the same or not?

Thanks, man this is very useful for me.
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching!
Sorry for the late question, but do you have to put the lowest clip first in the sequence to get that as the standard scale?
Thank you!!! So helpful for my project

Me: just done syncronising 30 video's...
So is there no way to do it after? Some how it is setting up the frame size in portrait mode.. lol I dont want it to look like I edited it on my phone...

@@alfp1904 I figured it out later. Had to go to sequence and change it there then set all to frame
No need to go to the clip menu. You can right click on 1 of the clips after you've selected all of them and 1 of the options will be set to frame size

hmmm... doing some tests here... seems "scale to frame size" retains any earlier resizing, while "set to frame size" does not... interesting.
