I thoroughly enjoyed this video and learned a lot. You included information for beginners (such as, shift + select multiple videos, or how to add the proxy switcher icon), but still present material that even advanced users may not have known. This is a hard balance to strike, and I think you did it very well.
Thank you for this content, I look forward to more!
I gotta say. The "how-to" proxy tutorials across the Intertubes for Premiere were getting old and tired. Thank you Matt. This is a very nice refresh. The "Speed/Duration" method has always been my MO so thank you for getting it out to the masses. 🙏🏼
Honestly Matt as a fellow professional in the field I'd like to thank you for all your time and effort you have put into sharing your knowledge. I just upgraded to 2023 and you were my first search to help me with seeing what's new and in this case the best way to create proxies. Thanks so much
I love the way you describe the videos and the excitement in which you explain everything!!
Matt, you're a hero. I come to your channel at least 1-2 times a week and you've unknowingly become an essential part of my workflow. Thank you for your service sir.
matt you're the best!! I was searching for this all morning and then I got your email just as I was reading the adobe forum on the interpret footage issue.. thank u x100
Thank you so much for this! Super helpful, timely, and very well explained!
Amazing video! I thought an 11 minute long video would entail many steps that I'd have a nightmare following, but no, you've shown me that it's a very simple and easy process, and the extra tips and tricks were so helpful that I watched through the entire video!
Thanks, Matt. Very well done, informative and helpful! Have a great day! 😀
Truly awesome video! You very clearly and concisely describe how to use proxy. I looked at some other videos which weren’t as clear as yours. Thank you very much. I really appreciate. You are a lifesaver.
Your content is always fantastic, Matt! Thank you for all you do!!
This was a really helpful video! Great explanations, nice and simple and easy for anybody to understand! Thank you so much
Appreciate the knowledge that you have shared. Definitely making an impact on my editing timelines, thanks again!
wow.... just wow. such a wholesome learning video just what I needed. I cant believe I just now found you on my editing journey much love and thank you!
Great solution for the interpret footage flaw in Media Encoder. Seems like a faster workflow than the previous one as well by the way. Nice you mentioned the warp issue cause this can be a real pain, I know that from experience when not yet being aware of it. Proxies are still very handy when working with 10 bit H265 footage, even on my maxed out mbpro from 2019, so great video Matt!
Matt your are the best. Thank you so much for taking your time to explain how proxies work.
So amazing, so helpful. You thought of every question I wanted to ask along the way.
Thank you for keeping this information updated as programs update!
Great tutorial. Thank you for the updated version. 😀
Wow! just great, straight to the point, easy to follow. Thanks
Hey Matt!!!Thank you so much for this!! I recently did a shoot at 10bit 4k 60 fps and struggled with the edit on premiere pro. But your tips and tricks have made the editing process so smooth and quick. Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to create this informational video.

Thanks Matt. I can't speak highly enough about the value you provide and the time you save.
Really useful video, thank you Matt!
I just started editing in premiere pro, and this was helpful. I forgot about creating proxies, and even my workhorse of a laptop couldn't handle the few videos I had. Going to try this tonight and I have subscribed. thank you
You are a God Send Matt. This proxy - slo-mo business has been the bane of my existence. Thank you for sharing this with other filmmakers!

Thanks so much! You're the best Matt Johnson!
Hey Matt! Thanks for always being able to find answers for editing questions I have 😂 I was wondering why Media Encoder wouldn't let me interpret footage. Now it makes perfect sense. However, I was wondering what to do if I wanted to create proxies for slow-motion footage that I want to speed ramp. In the past, I wasn't able to both use the speed/duration menu and keyframing the speed manually. Unless, I'm missing something? Thanks!
Did you ever find a solution here ? I’m facing the same situation
You are great dude. Thanks a lot and keep it up!
Literally so helpful thank you sm man! keep doing you thing!
Really helpful, Thank you so so much!!
I was looking for your proxies video and I guess you replaced it with this updated one! thanks! :D
I love you, Matt. So helpful. God bless you, young man. God bless you.
Quality content, super, many thanks!
OMG it's the Warp Stabilizer that's been giving me trouble then!! Didn't know the proxies would get disabled with it. Thank you so much, great video and lots of useful info

When filming wedding I shoot everything in 60fps and slow some of it down and some of it I leave as is. What is the best flow when working with proxy’s? Slowing everting down and adjust the speed accordingly on the timeline?
Awesome video!
Thank u man , over the years I can now edit fast !! one sub for ya !
Thank you for this bro big help for me 🔥🔥 godbless
Literally perfect timing Matt! I just finished a wedding shoot last night and was scratching my head on how I was going to make proxies in 2022, especially with a lot of my footage in 30, 60, and 120fps! Thanks so much for sharing the knowledge 🙏🏼
Man I’ve been stressing my ass off having to edit choppy clips cause I was using cineform not realizing I can’t 😂🤦🏽♂️
@@groveboymedia248 same
I tried to create proxy files but it’s taking an hour for just one clip
@@hushkit2119 DId you get this figured out? Check resolution on proxy clip. Decrease by half or more if needed.
@@KevinBurton Just bought a Mac mini instead lol
Very cool. Thank you!
Thank you, Matt!!!
Yesterday I was trying to find your video about create proxy and want to ask about Interpret footage in new Me, luckily I found this. Thank you so much sir you always help with your content 😍
You're a champ bro! Thank ypu!
Thank you for this🎉🎉
Brilliant! You just made my day ! 😂
thanks for the video!
SUPER HELPFUL THANK YOU 🙏🏼
Bro i was getting ready to upgrade my pc ! You literally saved me like a thousand bucks!
it's been Really helpful
Something I started doing as of late is going straight to Media Encoder, adding the footage there, and creating the proxies INSIDE of Encoder. This way you skip the step of sending them to encoder, and simply need to attach proxies once they render. This also allows you to continue editing in Premiere.
I'm new to proxies but how would you attach them after rendering?
What an absolute legend! Thanks a bunch!
life saver thanks Matt🙏💪
really nice video bro
Thanks!
GREAT!! Thank You!
Dude, thank you!
Honestly, this tutorial is atomic!!!
Late to the Proxy game, but better late than never. Big frustration cutting 4k footage on my Mac trash can. Even had issues using a 2019 Mac Pro Tower. This should help. I've always enjoyed your channel. Thanks!
Coming back to this as I have a couple days of footage that I need to re-proxy! Unfortunately Premiere has changed the Create Proxies Dialogue box so I'm piecing together what I need! This was such a huge help and I honestly felt capable of working out what I need in this project thanks to this and the practice I got months ago from this video!
Currently doing custom with the resolution set to match my other proxies and my preset to ProRes Quicktime Proxy to hopefully match what you did here Matt! Not sure if this will help anyone going forward and I'm definitely up for some feedback if I could be doing this better! I'm still new to proxies but will be implementing them into my Team workflows very soon!
You are a literal SAINT Matt!
Many many thanks!
Thank you! Moving over from Final Cut Pro to Premiere Pro has been a slight headache with things like this.
Epic beard! 💪
