to be honest - not much to learn for me BUT I LOVE the way you're talking and teaching. so, THANK VERY much. It was a pleasure even just to hear your voice. All the best and greetings from Ukraine!
Thanks for this video, I have a very particular use case and would like something input. Taking family videos and I usually all the short clips into one large movie file every few months I shoot mostly at 24fps. Sometimes I want to include a 60 or 120 FPS but not slowed down to a 24fps viewing. Is there any way to include it in my timeline and have a movie export with variable frame rates? I prefer this as when you watch it and watch it as one family video and is most easy for retrieval at later times cuz I'm not going to go back and watch a 10-second clip at a high frame rate
So i got here to find a solution to different fps but…I didn’t 😵💫 So ur suggestion is that we use always 24fps even if the majority of the footage is 50 or 60fps? That doesn’t affect the footage after all? I have a project to finish where i have 30fps and 50fps footage. What is the best timeline fps? 30? 50? 24? And why? 🤷♂️ Thanks in advance 🤘🏼
Hello Sir, I’m a newbie in Premier Pro and have a newbie question about frame rates. I understand that shooting at 24fps is a common place to shoot average stuff,, and going up in frame rate is good if I plan to slow footage down in post. So, question is, If I have a 24fps beginning of a baseball player interview on my timeline, then, put the next clip, behind first that was shot at 60fps expecting it to be slowed down “swinging bat slow-motion”. Because the first clip was 24, now the second will be converted to 24 as well being in that sequence. Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of shooting that clip at 60?? Seems PrPro threw away most of the frames needed to show section down. Forgive my ignorance. Thank you ahead of time. Tim
The color coding files is a great tip! I wish you would have mentioned a bit on audio 48kHz vs 44.1kHz. I'm not able to 'sync' footage in the timeline or a successful mult-cam sync and thought maybe different Codecs is the issue?
This ended up dropping at the perfect time for me! I don't know how I missed it but I didn't know you had a son! You'll be a great dad. This kid is going to be a better editor than me by the time he's like 8 😂
I'm having this issue where I add two 1080p 60fps clips and one 1080p30fps clip to my project, and whenever I drag an item to the timeline the timeline freezes up, I let go of the clip and it is still highlighted as if I was holding it, and when I press play on the videoplayer the displayed footage moves but the playhead in the timeline doesn't. Any idea how to fix this?
If i export in 4k for vp9 and better quality in my video will be a problem? My most clips recorded at 1080p and some 4k for highlights but i eant to export at 4k or at least 2k for better quality at this end. Is that problem?
Hi dropping a comment here hoping someone can help because I’m a little confused about exporting in a different FPS than filmed in and if I need to make edits accordingly. For example: I have 3 videos filmed in 4K 60FPS. I want to slow down two of the videos - I’m making a collage of 3 videos from top to bottom a vertical format. If I slow down a 60FPS video 50% does that change the FPS to 30? And if I have a video that is 4K 60FPS, can I simply just upload it to a software, and export as 1080 24 FPS for socials or can it be 60 FPS? I probably didn’t word that correctly but I tried my best. It’s a lot to learn 😂
Thank you for being a fan :) my views usually don't come all at once, it happens slowly over time as people are searching for the information that they need :P
Love your videos dude they’re amazing. If you need video ideas I love the series that you do of figuring out how other people edit. You should do how Cody Ko edits! I’d be curious to see how it’s done!
Hello you Guru I have a Test project. I have to clip (and one of them I have scaled to 120% - and then I think.. it would have been fun to add something in Adobe After effects - like a sign og something) so I right-click on it and bring it into After Effects.. and then click track camera... And then I will get an messag: Layer must match...... So... that does not work. Do I have to render out the clip in Premiere and then bring it into after effect ... do the thing and then render it out and put it into premiere again?
Hi, I follow exact same step in your video but when I imported my 59.94fps and 23.976fps into the 23.976fps sequence it says setting doesn't match, I then keep the current setting, it show red line at the sequence time above the footages (both 59.94 and 23.976), when I do either keep the 59.94 footage 100% or slow down to 60%, it still shows red and when I tried exporting the clip look laggy jittery like there's missing frames. How can I fix this? Thank you
btw love u sorry i havent subed yet just did, I watch youtube on tv most of the time so i never like or sub when I want so sorry. But how did you make that adobe timeline print back there?
Hi Thank you so much for this! I'm struggling with a project I inherited with 9 different FPS in a 23.976fps timeline. I'm trying to figure out a roundtrip workflow from exporting a premiere xml into Davinci resolve for color. currently when clips that are not 23976 get imported into Davinci the ins and outs point are all over the place. Is there a setting I'm missing in my workflow? Thanks for your help!
As much as I usually love your videos I found this one difficult to watch due to the volume levels you used. I'm not a background music hater, actually i prefer it, especially with mellow music like you used in this video. Unfortunately this time your voice is in a constant battle with the music. I'd go as far as to say I think you mixed up the volume levels and transposed the vocals and background so both were what the other should have been.
That was like a good little snack of a how-to. Thanks! I use folders a lot when bringing b-roll in from different sources, just drag the whole thing in... but the thing that bugs me about my work-flow is: I use list view to organize and navigate, but I use the icon view for picking actual clips, but every time I want to back out of a folder and icon view, I switch back to list view, and the folder is twirled open, showing all the videos!? I wish there was a way to not have that happen. Also, is there a quick key combo for switching back and forth between list and icon view?
Great info! My case is a little different and can't seem to find a good answer. I have to mix 29.97 and 23.97 in a sequence - using stock footage (23.97) and old broadcast masters (29.97). At what frame rate should I set the sequence? There is definitely moving and panning in the footage and I'd like to keep it look as smooth as possible. Thanks!
Your plant footage looks jittery which is what happens with most mixed timelines in Premiere Pro even though it claims that you can mix frame rates on the same time line. Doesn't look very good.. The only stuff that plays smoothly is the native resolution and frame rate.
Thank you for subscribing and supporting my channel

friend i just import in premier a timeline from davinci and some clips show a grey line and dont show nothing only black but the rest is ok, why ?

How do you export without there being parts that are choppy
My dude
is this still applicable when you attach proxies?
Great video. I thought that 60fps footage could be slowed to 40% on a 24fps time line?
You "can" with optical flow, but I've noticed some artifacting at 40% so I play it safe
Thnxxx…✌️
great

Great feedback, and you're actually right, i forgot to reset my VO track volume before I exported :(

120fbs video to 24fbs ...?? How much increase speed
Lots of cool info, I like your tutorials (and your style). One question though: why 23.976 and not 25 fps?
Because I'm not European 😂 NTSC vs PAL = 24 (but drop frame 23.976)

Thanks for the reply, that explains.

Hi. My timeline is 24fps, and my talk to camera is 30fps. How can I fit my 30 fps to the 24fps timeline without speeding down or loosing quality..?
