- Wing Mario Over the Rainbow is one of three secret levels in Super Mario 64, where Mario uses the Wing Cap to collect eight Red Coins and get a Power Star. The entrance is on the left side of the third floor near Tick Tock Clock in a niche high up in the wall, opposite to the entrance of Rainbow Ride. The level contains two platforms with a cannon on each, and four solid clouds, which are connected by rainbows. Two of the clouds are transparent and Mario can fly straight through them. A Bob-omb Buddy appears, and Mario has to talk to him to open the cannons. This is the only secret level that features the use of cannons.

This was the hardest level for me.. Really annoying falling far outside the castle everytime we fall.
This level is like heaven, but trying to get the red coins is just the opposite.
I agree with you mate. You need collect each red coin one at a time.
I wonder who at Nintendo actually thought this level was a good idea, it is literally one of the most awful levels ever in a Mario game, not only is the wing cap frustratingly hard to control, the level has terrible design

It's that one with the transparent cloud that always kills me. It's so hard to get when you're going fast. Especially with the awful camera. At least i got it eventually
Am I the only person that doesn't think this is the hardest star? Took me 3-4 tries to beat. I think that the 100 coin star for rainbow ride is worse. (I suck at wall jumps)

MrGamingZone thanks! And you’re welcome. And quick question. As you know I watched your videos in order to beat this game. But how did you know where are the stars were. Did you watch something, did you read a paper that tells you how to get each star, or is the title of the level supposed to have you know where to find each star? Because I find it hard to believe that someone can just find the stars without watching something or easing something that really yo how I get them.
I played this game when I was very young and It made me remember where every star was in the game. I use to play this game a lot when I was young.

Played it today and I was really afraid of this star, but I somehow managed to beat it on my second attempt.
Same wing cap tower is harder than this one
Same with me but on my first attempt. I suck at controlling the wing cap so this was a huge surprise
I decided to replay all 3 games on 3D all stars, and went for 100% on all of them so I could say I “300%” the game. This is going to be probably my 119th star so thank you for the help.

Whoever decided to throw Mario out of Castle by failing this instead of another way and NOT PUTTING ANY SHORTCUTS TO HIGHER LEVELS OF THE CASTLE deserves thing worse than death...

This is star 104 for me before the last bowser boss fight in 64. This is super annoying. Personally for me the hardest star was probably Stomp On The Thwomp that took me 3 days to do this month from the 6th-9th.
this star can be annoying, just keep trying and you will get it.
I've just been through SM64 again, and to be honest, blasted through 117 stars rapidly. Then Rainbow Ride 100 coins took a few efforts last night (it's those blummin wall kicks for the blue coins that does my head in), but to be honest I found Stomp on the Thwomp harder on TTC. I'm at 118 stars now. This one though is an absolute bugger. I've only ever done it once about two years ago, the first time I fully finished the game, and it's doing my nut in. Still got TTC 100 coins to do too.

I’m working on obtaining all the stars in the 3D All Stars version of the game. I have 88/120 stars and I’m stuck on this one right now. How do you trigger the wind?

I use hover cheats for this annoying level
for all you playing the new version. Try beating this BS level with that godawful N64 controller.
Try hard he does everything first try without dying a single time. This is all just BS!
