- In the first mission, Mario has to get the Power Star on the flying ship of the stage. It is not guarded, and Mario has to use several flying carpets to get to the ship, dodging Lakitus on his way. On the main intersection in the stage, which is made of four spinning discs, Mario has to go to the carpet on the right, and take another carpet on the left further above. When reaching the ship, Mario is hindered by winds which try to stop him from getting the star.

It's genuinely amazing how every end game level managed to be more frustrating than the last. Some of the most infuriating level design I've ever played :(

It's so much harder when you have joy con drift on the switch
I use my pro controller because my joy cons worked right for a few days and all of a sudden the drift made it impossible to do anything

I have attempted this level so many times and have only made it maybe halfway. I can't stand this level but at the same time I can't stop wanting to play it

Great quality. Never played or owned any Mario games, but this one certainly seems like a real pain to beat due to its poor camera controls. Ahh well, it was the mid-90s and on the N64: a console famous for having one of the strangest and least comfortable controllers.
Yeah Mario games are the best, Nintendo 64 weren’t the greatest with controls but the game they released were probably the best hidden gem games I have ever played.
This level is already hard but I have switch drift which makes even harder.
Spray contact cleaner under the sticks and rotate them around a bit, worked for me.

Play it on N64 or get a pro controller or a controller that can’t get drift just get a N64 and Mario 64 on it and buy at least 1 or 2 N64 controllers
This one was genuinely hard imo. Last jump is evil

The camera system in this game is horrendous, 90% of the times I screw up, is that reason, just constantly switching angles really aggravates me.

lmao level isn't hard but so annoying so I had to come to a video and see the comments. Lmao jumping over these things and hanging on accident lmao, the end jump where you'll bump the edge and fall in the void. easy fix is just to jump off everything instead of falling, make sure you jump high enough, and at the end you really got to make sure you hold down A or whatever button. Obviously have your camera to the side aswell front angle where you can't see carpet over blocks will just get you killed.

I quit after trying over 100 times on this level. This game was not made for kids but they sold it for kids. A 3d camera? Trying new things? Yeah fing right

Again i tried and i glitched on the side of the carpet tried to jump i fell. Done. Uninstalled. I remember why i didnt bother finishing this ad a kid and i now know why. Died 90 times here alone.
Yeah this map is so annoying with that red carpet, I died alot of times in this level.

Im done with this game. I pkayed it when i was 6 when jt xanr out didnt know what to do qnd now when im at 110 stars i cant get the rest. Evwry time im glitched on a side and bounce it doesn't matter what i do i fall the. When i jump onto things like this i fall through the crap. I see why babies pkay the newer games fompared to the older ones, im at 110 stars i quit this crap fest. To think they went from going to hatd on us to now with modern games going yo easy on us
