Fun fact: Both the first show for Intestine Baalism outside of Japan & the first show of reunion-era Cenotaph outside of Mexico were held in Netherlands Deathfest '19.
Was a borderline surreal experience to witness two of my favorite metal bands in my former childhood living place of all places.
Prior to their announcement of the NDF bill, I had given up to ever seeing those bands perform in the flesh, let alone in the Netherlands.
If only there is a chance to see North From Here-Era Sentenced & Alf Svensson-era At The Gates & then I would have seen my absolute favorite melodeath bands period (which won't happen for sure).
PS S/O to RFI!
Wow you are fortunate
I love Intestine Baalism. I just relistened to An Anatomy of the Beast and Ultimate Instinct recently and those albums are addicting. They'll have songs with crushing riffs and then follow it up with a song that has infectious melodies on the same album.
Agony in the Stone Chamber followed by Cry For the Black Sun is a perfect dichotomous intro to their style
Intestine Baalism is an enigma inside the melo death scene. One of the best at their craft, but so little to find out more about them. Hell it’s even rare to come across a Intestine Baalism t shirt
Couldn't have described it better than that.
The solo in A Place Their Gods Left Behind always gets me every single time. So glad I finally ordered cd.
Where did you get the cd?
IB are playing their second show ever outside of Japan this Friday in Singapore!
...and they played in Malaysia the next day, I believe, at Mamat Death Fest 2024.
I discovered Intestine Baalism on my metal journey several years ago. It is great to come across someone else who equally appreciates their music. Let's hope the next Japanese acts you cover are Vomit Remnants or Flagitious Idiosyncrasy in the Dilapidation. Cheers!
You talked me into it. I don't even own a record player, but I just bought the vinyl.
Glad to see you mention Radio Free Innsmouth as well.
Yeah Jiub's a great presenter. His perspective and sense of humor are unlike really any other metal RUclipsr/podcast person.
I managed to catch them live in Malaysia on the 1st of June, these guys are insanely good up close! I even got a picture with the band, they were pretty chill
So underrated they are. Deserving much more attention.
I actually managed to see IB when they headlined at MAMATFEST 2024, fuckin amazing being front row of my fav band. Even bought the Energumenus demo and a IB shirt
👍Up for showing RFI some love. Respect! 🤘
I first found out about IB in the liner notes one of my Sabbat CDs back in the 90s. It took several more years to find "Anatomy..." Like so many other Japanese bands, they combine this sort of wild energy with stunning musicianship and always a nod to old-school metal. The cover art for "Anatomy...", by the way, was done by Pentagno, famous for designing Motorhead's "Snaggletooth" mascot!
I'm glad to see another video on them on here. If I'm not mistaken, I found out about them through your melodeath videos and I've been obsessed with them ever since.
I think you just got me into a band. I just checked out their first full length album, really sick stuff.
Suicidal Grind my dude. I see you everywhere from osu! to metal vids
@@oyc7946 Can't be too sure on the first part. I haven't watched or commented on a osu! video since at least September last year. But yeah, I like watching a lot of content what gives?
Especially channels like this, people like Wyatt have given me some great "new" music to get into multiple times like for example his Grindcore tier list video introduced me to my now favorite Grindcore band "Flagitious Dilapidation in the Idiosyncrasy"
So I usually hang around these channels because there's tons of underground bands that have so much to offer once you get into them.
@@SuicidalGrind Yeah, I find it hard to find good underground bands just because of the sheer amount of bands out there. Channels like Wyatt, Goniloc, Ruthless Metal etc are great for discovering new stuff
Nice!! This band went under the radar for many, killer stuff.
The artwork for Banquet always reminds me of The Will to Kill by Malevolent Creation.
I really appreciate your videos and your passion towards music. I've never heard this band before, but the way you describe their music is very compelling, I'll definitely be checking them out.
Wind of Death is my favorite too dude. Thanks for putting me on with your 2022 melo death recommendations
anatomy is suuuuch a sick album!, i have been looking for it everywhere without luck... about 2 hours ago Extremely Rotten Productions (here in denmark) put up a single copy of anatomy of the beast on cassette, for not even 10 bucks!! which is both cheaper than sewer rot sells them, plus i saved on shipping and skipped out on import fees! cant remember the last time i bought something so quick!
IMO an anatomy of the beast isn’t a very heavy album, but that’s actually WHY it’s so good. The fact it’s so unbelievably dynamic and can actually pull punches to deliver a wide array of sounds is what makes it so good compared to your typical constant thrash and bash 5-7-8 melodeath
Ultimate Instinct is my favorite too. I will be on the edge of every seat until that gets some sort of rerelease.
These explaining videos are an absolute banger. Say, Wyatt, I'm wondering if you've ever heard of Vothana before. I don't remember you mentioning them on this channel IIRC, but if you have, then perhaps you can make a "Explaining Vothana" video? There's not a whole of lot video discussions of the band besides only a handful (Radio Free Innsmouth has a good video on them), and I think it would be nice to hear your thoughts on the whole band.
Vothana is basically the only vietnamese bm band out there. As a Vietnamese I was curious if we have any bands lol
@@AstronomyDomine inferno requiem
Ultimate Instinct was my first exposure to them too. I'm quite susceptible to the virgin effect, but it's hard for me to pick a favorite among their three full lengths. Great watch! I wasn't aware they ever played outside Japan (damn that NL Deathfest looks like it was STACKED). Now I'll be holding out hope for some US shows too.
@@inavernus what is wrong with you?
@@inavernus what?
@@inavernus yeah but what’s up with that tomboy furry playlist?
when I heard this band in 1997 on the Polish radio in the night metal program "Ryłkołak" in three songs, I was shocked at how well they played and how great the productions were. "An Anatomy of the Beast" is a legend...This is a very underrated band. Like ABSU or AngelCorpse
Some parts of "Anatomy of a Beast" genuinely remind me of Iron Maiden.
The sweet melodic leads after the agressive riffing are "chef's kiss" quality.
man i just had a moment of realization. when you said "zines" I remember back to my childhood when this was a thing. Then I thought "vines"... video zines... now it makes sense!
Love the explaining series dude!
I've been waiting for this for a long time
Anatomy of the Beast is banger after banger.
I gotta re listen to their other two albums.
Crazy how many good metal bands Japan pumps out
Radio Free innsmouth 🤘
Such a great band man. I love this band so much. Makes me inspired to make similar music.
Anatomy of the Beast its such a great album, glad you talked about them.
Wow, I only first listened to An Anatomy of the Beast on the first of the month and have been relistening to it since. What a coincidence.
That Lady Gaga t shirt is the best merch i've seen you wearing. Great pick
Catasexual Urge Motivation is another very interesting band. Definitely check them out more
One of the few Melodic Death Metal I love
Its not my place to make a request, but please look into Garden of Shadows or Lord Belial.
Love your channel
Sent this to my Christian family. Hoping this converts them.
Great recap. Anyone with any knowledge on a Anatomy repress LP? Nameless Grave wrote me back saying they are talking about it, however have other projects prioritized for now. Really wished that Sewer Rot would have added the vinyl option!
I love your videos.
First heard their albums in 2007
Just discovered your channel. Curious about your thoughts regarding Paysage D'Hiver. Especially the older albums.
Personally I feel like his work is the best kind of “background music”
And I don’t mean that in an insulting way.
Intestine "Ball-sim-...isin't it intestine 'baal-ism'?
well the "baalism" part is from the Mesopotamian mythology from the god "Baal" and im fairly certain the way im saying it is from what ive heard. but for all know from my track record im saying it wrong.
I see Intestine Baalism, I click!
also props up to panzer division
Interesting. I'm listening to some albums.
Fantastic fuckin band
So... Idk if anyone´s gonna respond to my comment here considering this video is 9 months old... But does anyone know about any recent activity from these guys apart from live shows?? I´ve heard somewhere they´re releasing new stuff in december, but I genuinely couldn´t find any information about it whatsoever, pls somebody tell me where can I follow these guys, It´s literally the best melodeath I´ve ever heard.
You can follow the guitarist/vocalist @kenji.nonaka.54
took me a while to find out wtf cetasexualism is and i don't regret it
these guys and sacramentum and arghoslent all need to make more music and tour i need to see these bands!
what about explaining Jute Gyte?
Haven’t gotten into his work enough to do one plus his discography is Huge lol
Ultimate instinct really isn’t that good compared to the previous two I’m surprised to hear you give it tbat much praise
Intestine baalism was the band that inspired me to play guitar. Ultimate instinct was hard for me to get into at first for some reason, I was a big fanboy of anatomy. After a decade of listening to them I would say ultimate instinct is just slightly better than anatomy, with banquet being their weakest by far.
Hell yeah Intestine Baalism!
I love them
I have that - anatomy album
Is that a lady Gaga shirt 😮
Class Lady Gaga shirt man!
I wish they had a better name but their sound is really good
It's BAAL-ISM not BALLS-IM
XD driving me insane!!
Honestly I don’t think so
Baalism was named after the Mesopotamian god “Baal” and it’s pronounced as I said.
@@wyattxhim the Baal part is correct, but you're saying BaalSIM instead of BaalISM :D
albert?
No, this is Patrick
@@petewotb This time and this time only will I allow your life to continue despite what you have done. Be aware of this.
@@munkey9064 now im a bit scared that something very bad will happen next time
@@petewotb yes that is what i am saying to you right now.
Do a video on “Black Fucking Cancer”
I can send you their guitar players Instagram if you’d like

See when bands has stupid names like that. It's obv that they will be nothing more than the cliche shock value and actual noise about childish shit they think is gore or offensive or shocking ... its not.
very cool
