Yet again to claim that the hardest stuff ever is a Swedish pop band with 13 year old aimed lyrics, to say that is as dark as it gets.... (Like Niklas did say in interviews. I do have the records, but still.)
In an interview from last year when Niklas was in a great mood and high on cocaine he said that he personally knew Nattramn and that the guy was just a regular old lanky, tall, douchebag of a Swede with the stories being bullshit. Cassado was seemingly the first mature creative force in Shining, he allegedly influenced Niklas by introducing him to Burzum properly. I've been a Shining listener for a while and I'm a 100% convinced he gets most of his band mates as session musicians or as short term contractors, since obviously, most of his bridges aren't really burned and he collaborates with the same people on and off seemingly on a whim.

The album you mean? True, the song "I Shall Lead, You Shall Follow" has some questionable lyrics abouw WW2. Still a great song though. But it does not fit on a album that has suicide, depression, insanity and loneliness as themes. So it kinda sticks out like a sore thumb.
From what I understand there’s one song on the album called “I Shall Lead , You Shall Follow “ The song has a lot references to the holocaust. I just find that track super odd considering the album is about depression yet they close it with a sketchy song. Doesn’t make sense to me .

The Vocals from Nattramn just sound goofy, while rainer landferman has great versatile vocals with way more variation than just whining. Plus saying bethlehem is just Dictus te Necare and darkmetal would do them a disservice.
Another thing is that Death, Pierce Me had-according to RateYourMusic-Neo-nazi lyrics
The album you mean? True, the song "I Shall Lead, You Shall Follow" has some questionable lyrics abouw WW2. Still a great song though. But it does not fit on a album that has suicide, depression, insanity and loneliness as themes. So it kinda sticks out like a sore thumb.
Great video! a lot os mystery around Silencer all this years
You have some dreads coming in man?
I was only surprised to learn that Silencer als has NS lyrics. While I could deal with the vocals, that truly ruined the band for me.
From what I understand there’s one song on the album called “I Shall Lead , You Shall Follow “
The song has a lot references to the holocaust.
I just find that track super odd considering the album is about depression yet they close it with a sketchy song. Doesn’t make sense to me .
@wyattxhim exactly! Bought the vinyl one day and was really surprised and confused to find that kinda lyrics in there. Besides being bigot cringe, it doesn't fit the theme of the album at all.
Even the instrumental track is anti-Semitic "Feeble Are You - Sons Of Sion".
Isn't Silencer also considered NSBM?
Also, I recommend you to check out Glistening and the whole Extinctionist Records circle. They are a very interesting niche within DSBM.
Yeah, there is a NSBM connection sometimes drawn because a couple of their tracks are intensely antiesemitic.
@@brandonlovelady8659that’s quite sad to hear. I was gonna check the project out, but now I’m less interested
People are still talking about them because of the lore. People love myths and bullshit
