@@Hamza52199 I’m 5’6”, ~150lbs. I usually go with M with the uniqlo wide fit pants. For the good ones that I see on the women’s section, I usually take a size L. Yikes those tailors made the Levi’s into something that has an addition of something that rhymes with hamil Coe 😮 finding a great tailor is difficult. I found one that can even deal with leather and repair wax jackets sympathetically plus do invisible repairs to vintage items. Great video again as usual and i salute yer bravery in putting yersel out there with those Levi’s to prove a point excellently
Yo Harry, I'm generally not the best with fashion, but you've helped me a ton recently. I went on a black friday/cyber monday shopping spree to become more stylish. You had an outfit on your website featuring some uniclo stuff (dark green jacket, scarf, sweater etc) that I liked. I pieced together something similar with that same jacket and killed it at my company's christmas party. So thanks for the great advice!
Im a victim of the “buy something different cause you already own too many white T-shirts”, and now I have an orange stussy tee ik I’ll never ever wear haha, class vid as always keep it up bro ❤
Whenever a stylist or interior decorator says NEVER, they do not know what they are talking about. Everything must be judged by the entire look. Mistake #4 is absolutely my worst one haha. I always bought pieces that looked amazing but I had no idea how to style them, or that didn’t go with anything in my current wardrobe. So they ended up sitting in the closet never seeing the light of day.

I've been watching this channel since 1k subs and it helped me finding my style and boost confidence in wearing clothes that I love and the vids do really makes my day better
Agree with most of this video except from the first point : if you want to wear a fit pant, then go to your size. But sometimes, size up may be interesting to oversize some items, and it works, this tips is often used in asian streetwear, and results are sometimes very good.
Loved the point at the beginning about the waist of the trousers. I have a lot of experience getting my trousers taken in at the waist. I think that as long as you don't take them in too much (2 inches max) it tends to still look ok. Also, it works much better on lighter fabrics - like dress pants, than on jeans.
I fell into this ordeal many times. You mentioned the 501 fit, Levis jeans in my opinion is a hit or a miss when it comes to their sizing in my experience. As much as I love the people who can fit right into the 501's and rock them effortless, that's where I'm going to stay, enjoying and admiring these people by ways of looking at them. I'm 5'8 gained and lost weight and still cannot fit right with the 501's my magic number from the brand is their 502's and the ir 511's
After finding your channel a few months back and watching many of your vids, much of the info added up (especially about trousers) and for the first time I am thrilled with the fit of my jeans. I'm also 5'10'' with a 31 waist and similar body type to you so I got lucky there.
I never fall for mistake number 2 anymore cause I love my homie Harry! 🤣 in all seriousness we have a pretty similar taste and you open up a lot of uncharted territories for me, I think you and @TheIronSnail Michael should collab, I see a lot of similarities in appreciation of craftsmanship and not following trends.
Another brill video, thanks 😘 Even though it was a repetition of stuff I've heard before, I particularly appreciated the part about pants with the visual example. I've always struggled finding trousers that fit properly because my thighs are disproportionately large for my size (because of years of training for swimming and boxing, not because I over-eat). It's a nightmare! Oh, and I totally sympathise re: the bad experience with the tailor! Speaking of the worst thing in fashion that I've noticed; there's one thing I keep seeing in other people's videos, and it may just be me, but it's the way some wear their beanies. To my eyes, it makes the wearer look like a smurf with the hat sitting so high on their heads that most of the fabric protrudes.
Not sure if you rushed the jeans part but I think you failed or forgot to mention the importance of rise in jeans as opposed to waist / thigh area. The rise is really overlooked in modern men's jeans. Womens clothing has way more understanding of the difference in rises. Mens is more "one rise fits all" which tends to be low/mid. A high rise silhouette is essential for correcting proportions of thirds and is always overlooked. You should make a video about it.
I personally love baggy jeans, but they look terrible when people wear ones that are stacking. Initially, I tried to imitate the style of some streetwear influencers, but now I have developed my own complete streetwear style and only get inspired by others' styles. It's alright to copy at the beginning, but don't do it frequently; try to find your own style that fits your body shape, as Harry mentioned. I personally think that it's better to first upgrade your wardrobe with different pieces and then go for different colors for the same piece if you're really into it. Like he said: "fashion should be fun and personal", and don't let fashion rules limit your style.
often the problem with the size of the waist is present in brands that have limited options of fits. I really recommend the brand dockers or any other brands that have fits from straight to "oversized" which most of the times just means the pace in the tights are more wide and that helps a lot and also looks way more stylish than regular and slim fits
My advice with the tailor is to bring them a pair of pants you like the fit of already and have them tailor them to fit like those. It gives them a good blueprint to work from. I got a pair of too wide RRL Jeans done that way and they are perfect.
My tailor is amazing . I have such a small waist and large shoulders so every single item of clothing I buy must be altered. I have to always think and calculate how much an item of clothing is going g to cost by adding the cost of the alterations.
“If you get the waist right and thigh area right…” well that’s my issue 😭 I have bigger thighs relative to others my height so I usually go up a size or two because I don’t like my thigh area being tight. But this just causes my pants to be wide for my waist and I sometimes end up with my pants not looking right like you mentioned. Literally today I got my package for some Dickies 874s that I went up a size and they are too big on my waist. But hopefully they’ll shrink after a wash or two and they’ll be more manageable 🙏🏽
As someone who works for Levi's; buy them in the smallest size that closes. They will 100% stretch out. When you sit down, you're pushing your abs forward, your butt back and knees forward. So fabric around the waistband, crotch, butt area, thighs and knees will stretch out the most. If they're too tight in general; go for a wider model.
Since watching this video, I’ve made no fashion mistakes in my outfit choices or purchased any items I’ve regretted. It’s scenically proven that Harry’s videos work (it’s 8:35 am HST and I’m still in my pajamas). But truly, keep up the amazing content, sir. 🫡
Agree with paying mind to waist and thighs with pants especially for oversized looks. I have a short, husky stature and no matter slim or oversized, waist and thighs has to fit well! Also, for me, I stay away from anything tapered, no joggers at all, or else my stubby legs will show. Just a quick tip for you stubby types!
I'm the other way 'round on the rule of thirds - long legs and shorter torso at 6ft 2. Always got in trouble at school for wearing shirt untucked to try and 'even out' my proportions! But yeah, tucked in shirt can make my legs look too long and lanky.
Some of my favorite pieces I bought without knowing how I would style them! I just had a GUT FEELING that I would eventually figure something out, and I usually do! I also shop at thrift stores for experimenting so when I do make a mistake it's not financially ruinous lol
can u pls do a "how to style skinny jeans" video? I've seen a lot of people hating on skinny jeans but I think skinny jeans are good. it just depends on the one who's wearing it and how they rock it.
Man I wear black with navy all the time. Does this make me a bad person lol. Though yeah I agree about going with your gut feeling. I’m way more brutal with my buying habits these days and if I pick up something and upon trying it on it doesn’t feel right. Then I don’t hesitate to send it back, the younger me would keep things and then never wear them.
I am 6 feet tall with long legs and slight love handles being fit overall. Will rule of 1/3rd still look good for me. As i heard somewhere that it is good for people who have small legs it will help elongate legs visually
Tip: if the excess material is being cinched: pull your waistband from the back and all the excess will go to the back where no one will see it and they’ll look like they fit
I wish t shirts weren't so long these days for my proportions - short guy hem goes well below crotch. haven't bought any new ones in years cause of it, and its getting dire 😂 gonna keep being patient
Cheers mate, just wanna say thanks for a great 2023, hope you had happy holidays and wish you all the best for 2024. agree to all your issues, I lost 12kg the last 3 months and my old pants just don’t look right anymore. 😂 Keep up the good work, cheers 😊🙏🏻
Bold of you to assume I’ve made these mistakes 😂. But honestly if I didn’t make these mistakes I wouldn’t be where I’m at w my style. Also having someone like you does help a teeny bit too😂. Have a good one bro.
Hello Harry, would you happen to have the reference of the "'messy" jeans from Levi's 1:36 and those black jeans at 1:44 ? You may have spec'd them in other videos but I can't find them ! Thanks
Pants are a tricky subject if you have any quad muscle your waist most likely won’t match I currently wear a 33 waist to fit my quads and hamstrings but my waist is only a 29
It’s hard for me to find tops that are cropped and sit right at my waist so I can follow the rule of thirds since I’m not that tall and I feel like brands make clothes more tailored towards taller people
I think it’s hard to find the perfect fit for anyone straight off the shelf so you aren’t alone. There are a lot of pieces I have come across from brands that are too cropped for my liking so there are options out there. But I struggle to find things that fit exactly how I like. It just takes patience and a lot of searching
Worst thing I seen in fashion lately is a trend i cant jack bc i lived tbru the times, baggy pants and the late 90s early 2000 look. Looks dooe on other ppl, but i cant do it, bad memories. I was looking crazy back then. Also, i use your videos a lot for guidance. I started buying properly fitting pants and using your looks as inspiration. Thank you.
I found that on my bodyshape, tight stuff looks quite ridiculous. I usually go for "regular or relaxed" fits in pants. I like to have about 2 vingers of space when I wear it. During winter I often gain 1-2 kilos and because of this way of purchasing, my pants still fit during winter. And during summer they don't drop from my ass either. I can fit in a size XS shirt but usually go for S and some items even M. I like to have a little leftover space because my shape is not fully straight. Then there is that I'm short and have regular sized feet. So long flat shoes like Sambas makes my feet look like clownfeet. So I go with shoes that are a bit more bulky. This makes my feet to body ratio less obvious. I also avoid colors that are close to my skin color. Biggest tip I could give for jeans: go to physical stores and try stuff on. Where I learned to dress a little wider because that looks better on me, taller people usually don't look better when they do so. And for people that wear tighter fits, bulky shoes won't look great either. Also a thing lately, I try to get items that can go with multiple outfits. And 1 thing that eases this up is to get items without any visual branding on them. Plenty of good quality brands don't put their logos everywhere.
1:10 yes finding the right tailor isn’t as easy as it sounds. The pants could’ve been tailored correctly, but a lot of tailors are just lazy, or have a hard time to justify prices for a correct tailoring without shortcuts. If it looks that goofy, it’s because he just did the bare minimum.
True that ! Nothing wrong admiring others how to carry themselves Bur never compare yourself, your measurements & looks is different for sure. Buy a life size mirror 😂 . Been there done that. Have your own signature & friends/ people will recognize/ admire you more. Shop true to size especially looking for good deals , alterations/ repairs makes you doubling your expenses & look more weird. I preferably shop for classics nowadays so I can mix match no matter what fashion trends. Cheers 🙏👍😜❤️🇨🇦
Sound advice all round. Also, you could probably sell those tailored jeans to someone with gym-honed or cyclist’s thighs. Otherwise keep them for any messy DIY jobs around the gaff. (Saves you on buying overalls.)
Yeah that’s the same as me with a lot of pants. You just have to keep searching for the right fit. There will be pairs that have a 28 waist with more room in the thigh
What’s the worst thing you have seen in fashion recently?
The too baggy look, wasn't cool in the 90s, isn't cool now. The distressed look also.

My tailor is amazing . I have such a small waist and large shoulders so every single item of clothing I buy must be altered. I have to always think and calculate how much an item of clothing is going g to cost by adding the cost of the alterations.

telling (athletic)people with big thighs to find a pair of jeans with the right waist / thigh is pure stupidity
smoothest transition ever, didn't even know the video was ending
As someone who works for Levi's; buy them in the smallest size that closes. They will 100% stretch out. When you sit down, you're pushing your abs forward, your butt back and knees forward. Pants need to fit in the hips, not only the waist. I'v had pants where the waist fits, but i have small hips and they are too baggy at the pockets.
this is why i only buy pants after trying on haha. tops and outerwear i can work around but not for pants.

IMO there’s nothing wrong with tucking in your t shirt
Cheers mate, just wanna say thanks for a great 2023, hope you had happy holidays and wish you all the best for 2024.
agree to all your issues, I lost 12kg the last 3 months and my old pants just don’t look right anymore. 😂
Keep up the good work, cheers 😊🙏🏻
PLEASE MAKE AN ENTIRELY SEPARATE VIDEO ON #4!!
Bold of you to assume I’ve made these mistakes 😂. But honestly if I didn’t make these mistakes I wouldn’t be where I’m at w my style. Also having someone like you does help a teeny bit too😂. Have a good one bro.
Haha thanks mate. You too
Hey friend! Love the video!

Unfortunately, I always buy 2x sizes up for just in case I grow bigger or taller. I even buy 1x size larger shoe for fear or getting tight.
Pants are a tricky subject if you have any quad muscle your waist most likely won’t match I currently wear a 33 waist to fit my quads and hamstrings but my waist is only a 29
Yes, I have the same problem. It takes time finding the right fit for you but it’s out there
It’s hard for me to find tops that are cropped and sit right at my waist so I can follow the rule of thirds since I’m not that tall and I feel like brands make clothes more tailored towards taller people
I think it’s hard to find the perfect fit for anyone straight off the shelf so you aren’t alone.
Thank you.
I’ve been through all that myself before too. Great to hear the videos are helping you 🙏
The tailor that altered your Levi's did you dirty. You wanted the waist taken in, they gave you a moose knuckle.
Lmao
Hey harry pls tell me how to style my loro Piana summer loafers
1:10 yes finding the right tailor isn’t as easy as it sounds. The pants could’ve been tailored correctly, but a lot of tailors are just lazy, or have a hard time to justify prices for a correct tailoring without shortcuts. If it looks that goofy, it’s because he just did the bare minimum.
How do you get longer legs on jeans?
The first levis seem to be retailored for women at this point
Great vídeo!
Thank you
I’ll save them for some DIY I think. I don’t think they are gonna look flattering on anyone
The first one is so hard…if I go waist size 28 it’s too small and if I size one up it’s a bit too big
Yeah that’s the same as me with a lot of pants. You just have to keep searching for the right fit. There will be pairs that have a 28 waist with more room in the thigh
