You've pretty much nailed my concerns on the comparison. I'm soon to start shooting a documentary and have a decent handful of EF & EF-S Canon glass and have just got a GH4 w/ VLOG to shoot with. Its a far better camera than my Canon T7. That being said... looks like I'm gonna have to pony up the extra $$$ for the Metabones adapter VS the Viltrox

I get it. The Viltrox you got is a faulty one coz their quality control is shit. They either make perfect ones or irreparable units. It's annoying. But I'm not happy with the metabones as well coz I recently got a good deal on the lens booster II and did a test only to find it to achieve the same level of sharpness as the metabones. I mean I should be happy but it annoys to have already spent $650 on something that is being sold for $150. I could've got a lens plus the lens turbo. I do have two mft cameras so I still put both of them to use but I can't stop being angry and the sheer overpricing.
I think your shot was out of focus on the end part?
If you can only keep one speedbooster, which one you gonna choose? XL or Ultra?

Eric Yehuda Not that one specifically, but i have used BavEyes and i did have Metabones C/Y speedbooster. Idk, im not a fan of different mounts anymore, i just like everything EF. All my lenses have been converted to EF, its like future proofing. Every camera has an EF adapter mount.
i own the viltrox and it looks like you failed the infinity adjustment. you can simply turn the inner ring, and sharpness will go to infinity. It woll also partly beat metabones despite other reviews, for example faster (picture only) autofocus
I mention that in both videos, I already adjusted the inner glass element on the viltrox. I may have a faulty one. Don't know, don't care. The viltrox is now my B cam option, and the metabones lives on my main cam. It's sharpness and lack of distortion blows the other two out of the water. I also recently returned the Kipon, since that one was definitely the worst out of the three when it comes to outer distortion. Thanks for watching though!
just a little annoyed by everyone constantly telling me it's the inner element adjustment to fix the infinity focus on the viltrox. The point is, you don't have to do that with metabones, (nor the Kipon for that matter) at least I didn't. And honestly, you shouldn't have to do that. Not for the money that these things cost, IMHO. :)
@@JustinPhillip oh yes, fair enough. When I turned it, it first only adjusted so far. I simply had to do it again. I did it with the sigma 18-35 until it was close to parfocal. I got perfect sharpness and lens communication so am happy that I did not pay 4 times the price :) But I get you, there is no reason why they should let you do the adjustment.
@@seifenhasedreizehn4077 you know the viltrox works great for me on the sigma 18-35. I ran into troubles with the tokina 11-16 mainly, and sometimes the tamron 28-75
I've had two Viltrox EF-M2's. The first one I bought on Amazon, and wouldn't focus to infinity no matter what. I rotated the optics all the way until it wouldn't turn anymore, and it still wouldn't focus to infinity, so I returned it. The second Viltrox I bought on ebay, and it worked like a charm. The only thing is that it's a little soft, and it blooms a little with lenses faster than f/2.8. If you stop it down it looks pretty good, but then what's the point of using a speedbooster if you have to stop it down. Might as well use a native M43 lens at F/2.8. I noticed that the first one I bought on Amazon, had hologram type tape on the sides of the box, the one I bought on ebay had non-hologram tape. I still ended up buying the Metabones, because the Viltrox with its softness and blooming wide open is not professional enough. Good to play with though. It doesn't make sense to spend money on nice fast lenses and then be cheap with the Viltrox. Save your money and buy the metabones. Period.

Ok man. I am gonna try and jump off the cinemodding OM lenses bridge by myself. I will let you know how it goes, but I could use your honest opinion. Kipon Vs. Metabones for the OM to MFT? Do you think the MB is worth the $449 vs Kipon at $135? There is no online comparison of the two for OM mount. You think the result of your EF to MFT test would relate?

@@JustinPhillip Yes sir! I was shocked as well, but just like the rest of the Metabones line, it is way more expensive than the competition. What are they doing with their glass that justifies that? Little fairy people hand set each lens? :D

@Justin Philip Surely saying you are gonna do the American version is incorrect grammar, As far as I am aware Americans speak English they don't speak American. So in reality you are doing an English version of said video. The only thing American about the video is the location and your good self but the language is still English. Francesco Marullo What are you talking about? The whole point of the video is to show how the Viltrox cant attain infinity focus. Either that or check your wifi connection, you do know that on phones RUclips automatically down converts to 420p .
